I need a way to share my SM-T800 Screen to an Android phone.
Anyone get this to work?
I’ve used TeamViewer a bit on PCs and you set up a host PC and then connect with a code from another PC. I can run the TeamViewer Host for Samsung devices and it shows a login failed when I try to connect from any another device, PC or phone.
From the other devices I’ve tried the Full TeamViewer application and the web based one. They all show the SM-T800 as TeamViewer host to connect to but when I try to connect they say the version is wrong or the feature is not supported. ???
I’m using the latest version on both ends. I’m guessing you can't mix and match or the tablet has to be rooted?
I guess that's a no then.

Hello there to all xda members from my side first i am a new member on XDA .
I am also facing a problem in connecting to my win7 PC via bluetooth . telling the whole story " i have connected a usb bluetooth to my win7 Pc and with the help of that i was trying to connect my MMX A110 to it to transfer files to my mobile a110 . All bluetooth drivers were installed on the Pc automatically as i connected the USB Bluetooth to it . But Now when i try to connect my mobile to Pc both devices need to exchange a passkey code and there is the problem , the passkey codes never match like pc code is 123456 then on my phone it shows like 456789. I mean that whether i try to connect my Pc to phone or the Phone to PC the pairing code is always different on both the devices so it gives an error saying code entered is incorrect. what should i do guys to solve this plz help .
Thanks in Advance
Hello everybody,
I've a problem with my NOTE 2.
When I try to connect my NOTE 2 to my PC at work, the PC is not able to recognize it.
I think it's due to the MTP protocole.
I know that with my SGS1, it works.
Do you think that there is a possibilitie to install an app in order to transform the phone in USB Storage as an standard USB Stick? Or a program made by a developper.
It will be very helpfull for me if you find a solution.
If you want more informations, ask me.
Thanks

You need to start your "windows Installer" service before connecting your device
How to:
Make sure Windows is set to auto-update
connect your device with USB
From Device manager(right-click on "My Computer" and choose "Manage") Uninstall the Drivers
disconnect your USB device
Go to PC->Control Panel->Adminstrative Tools->Services
Start your "windows Installer" service
Connect your device with USB
keep the device connected until windows show Device Install Succefully(it can take a while, up to 10 minutes)
It should work well after that.

Hi,
Now that Amazon Fire TV officially supports USB storage, is there a way to connect to it via WiFi from a PC?
I'd like to be able to send files to the attached USB stick. Is there a way to do this?
Thank you! :fingers-crossed:

You need to be rooted. Then you can run an Android Samba app. Expect slow transfer rates. Probably quicker to unplug the stick and plug it into your PC.

Thanks so much for your response. My firmware does not allow rooting. Is there no way to do this without the root?
Could the HooToo TripMate Nano Wireless N Pocket Travel Router set up and connect the USB storage through adhoc wireless mode to the FIre TV / Stick without root?
connect the hard drive to ur pc or android device via an otg cable and push the files using adb
If all you are looking for is to manually transfer files without root, there are several apps out there called something similar to "WiFi File Transfer" that run on Android devices and let you connect to them via an ip address in a browser on another device, I've used the free version of this one (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smarterdroid.wififiletransfer&hl=en), which is limited to 5MB file transfers, on other Android devices, it was very simple. I haven't tried this on my Stick, though it might be easy if you install Google Play first.
If you are looking for SMB network sharing, then I agree with everyone else, you need root or you need to connect the hardrive to something else like a computer or your router.
I havent tried this without root but you could run a ftp server app on the firetv and connect to it that way.
I tried googling it but got conflicting answers if it will work without root.
I recently acquired a Sony Xperia C6506 (ZL LTE). Before I start playing around with this phone, i need to offload some photos. I'm trying to connect the phone to my laptop running Windows 7 via the USB. My system does not recognize the phone. I'm assuming it's because I don't have the correct driver on my windows system . (I've also tried "PC Companion but had no luck there either). I searched the Sony web site for a driver but did not see a specific one for the C6506. Does anyone know where I can find the correct driver for the USB on Windows 7? Or does anyone have any other ideas why this might not be working?
Thanks
I have the same phone and windows 7 recoginzed it and installed the driver by itself. Didn't remember if it downloaded it or found it from the system. Perhaps you can try the PC companion software from Sony.

Thanks for the reply - I've loaded PC Companion and in step two, it never recognizes the device.

What happens when you connect the phone to your PC? Anything? Do you see any messages popping up? Any errors? Do you see it in device manager? Also, do you see any messages on your phone when you plug it in? What USB connection mode is set in your phone's settings? In general, MTP should be the most universal method.
I have the same phone, and it is recognized perfectly by Windows 7 (at work) and Windows 8.1 (at home). When you install Sony PC Companion, it includes the proper drivers, so you don't need to do anything extra (you do need additional drivers for flash mode and ADB, but that's a different topic). I would suggest trying another PC, to see if it makes any difference. If it still doesn't work, it might be something with your phone...
As an alternative, you can use a WiFi connection to access your files on the phone. I often use either ES File Explorer or Software Data Cable - they both provide an FTP service that you can connect to from your PC over WiFi.
Have you tried with another cable? My Xperia is recognized perfectly out-of-the-box on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, as soon as I connect it, PC starts to search and download drivers, no PC Companion installed nor Flashtool drivers. :/

Yeah, that would be a good option to start, forgot to mention it. I've seen bad USB cables quite a few times, more often than I'd expect...
Thanks again for the quick replies and the suggestions cause they worked - it was the cable. The cable I was using was capable of charging the phone but did not allow Windows to recognize it. I used a different cable and it worked fine. Tharnks again. Now the fun begins changing the phone into a media playing device. If you have any suggestions on this I'm all ears.
Thanks
I am using a nexus 5x and own an asus stick computer running windows 10. I have searched and found some apps such as "unified remote" but these apps require the pc to be already running after passing the password screen, so I can't use the phone to type the password via bluetooth or wifi. As the stick pc is intended to be portable, I am not quite comfortable to remove password protection and bring it out of home or office. The other option of connecting the phone to pc via usb (such as the app "usb keyboard") requires root and custom kernel, but I wish to use android pay and root or any modification to the system is prohibited.
Are there any apps which I can use to connect the phone and pc to let me type the password, via bluetooth or wifi or usb, or any workaround for my situation?
Thanks for help
thank you
