Blue flashing dot in Google Maps makes usage of device impossible - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I stumbled upon an error in Google Maps lately, where after entering the destination a flashing blue circle that sometimes shows a black cursor appears in the middle of the map. After it appears, the devices screen isn't usable anymore and if I press the power button and press it again, the blue circle will still be on the lockscreen. If I keep pressing the power button to turn off the device the circle activates the children mode. I can only get rid of it, if I completely shut down the device (by pressing the louder and power button long enough). So now I wanted to ask, how can I use Maps normally again?

Sick, I have exactly the same problem...

SPB Traveler Issues In WM6

Is anyone else having issues with Traveler in WM6?
I'm using an AT&T based Pandora Kitchens ROM and I'm getting the following problems:
1. Screen is off, I press the power button to turn it on. The screen turns on and I see my Today screen or whatever program I was using when I turned it off but that's it, I can't do anything else. Screen and buttons don't respond. Pressing the call end button results in the short beep that it normally sounds when you're on the Today screen and press it. But I have to soft reset to use my phone.
The same problem happened a few times when someone tried to call me. I was watching my phone when I tested this. Screen was off, I rang myself frlom another phone, the screen turns on and the phone symbol appears next to the signal icon in the top bar but after that the phone freezes as above. Soft reset needed.
2. Phone is charging using the wall adaptor. Green light is on. I pull the power cable out of the phone and press the power button, nothing happens. I had to soft reset.
3. Turn phone on, tap Start menu, wait about 15 seconds before Start menu appears!
Any ideas?

Switching off the Artemis

Yesterday I found out I can completely switch off my artemis by holding both soft-buttons and holding the power button for about 5 seconds.
A pop up window appears saying:
Warning
Power will be turned off, and you may lose data if you have not saved them. Do you want to continue?
After pressing yes the screen turns dark and the led's stop flashing. The device seems to have been powered down. When pressing the power button, the device enters the boot screen as if just been given an soft reset.
Couldn't find this in the forum of the wiki, so I thought I wanted to share this.
Regards!
This is standard behaviour on WM-based devices....afaik....

Samsung Galaxy Epic display won't turn on...

I don't know what's wrong with my phone, but the screen display is messed up. Sometimes, the screen will display if I keep clicking the power button one-hundred times, but other than that it won't budge. Everything thing else works when I press the power button, the keyboard lights up, the home button and other buttons light, just not the screen. Like I said, I have to repeatedly press the power button so that in a slight chance, the screen might display.
I HATE THIS PHONE! What, do I do?

Need more info.
Can you access the recovery partition and it works fine? Access the recovery partition by powering on the device by holding down: Volume Down, Camera, and Power. Release when the hardware icons light up (down on the bottom: settings, home, back, search). You should see a menu appear after several seconds.
If the recovery partition does work fine have you tried a factory reset?
If it is still problematic within the recovery partition then it is more than likely a hardware issue. Possibly a problem with the power button?

Phone seems off, wont turn on flashing green LED

My phone has suddenly died today. Unsure how much battery it had when it happened, no issues before.
I lookedat my phone and it appeared to be off but I noticed a notification light flashing. Power button didnt turn the screen on, no volume or softkey interaction either. green LED still flashing (I had just not long before had a message on whatsapp so maybe it was from this).
Whatsapp web shows phone as offline, google shows phone as offline.
Connect it to USB and the laptop notices a device as I get the noise, but doesnt show as a drive in the laptop
connect it to power, nothing comes on the screen.
Call it and it doesnt ring (noise wise or screen)
Cannot reset - power button feels soft (not clicky)
Light still flashes.....
Really stuck any help appreciated.

Could it be possible you have a power button hardware failure. Try this : keep volume down pressed. If the phone reboots the power button is pressed too without you touching it.

I did think that the power button may have failed, but noting that the notification light is on, that then suggests the phone is in a powered on state - if that is the case should it not respond to an inbound call, any of the soft buttons at the bottom etc?
Just tried holding volume down for 15 seconds, nothing.....
Was hoping to get the phone to completely power down of its own accord but I dont recall if it had 3% or 70% and dont know how long a blinking LED will keep it going for!

Partial boot, status bar loads half-way, rest of screen black, shuts off after a min

Hi all,
I got this M5 that's been giving out warnings about memory being full and I suppose it finally gave in. It only partially boots after like a full minute of showing you those blue waves. When it 'boots' the screen is black and nothing works, except you can see the status bar with just the battery icon, no-SIM icon and the clock.
Now the weird thing is, when the device is powered off, when you press the power button once, a large battery indicator appears on the screen, and shows the normal percentage-- I've seen this go up from 0 to over 90 something incrementally.
But when it's 'on' the way I just described, the battery is always at 0% with a red ! next to it.
Anyway, when it's in this weird half-life mode, you can actually pull down the notification bar normally, and tap stuff as well. Flashlight works, you can see an actual WiFi list (nothing happens when you connect) etc. When you launch stuff through here though, like settings, it won't open anything. It'll make the sound as if it's launched something but the remainder of the screen will still be black.
Stuff I've already tried:
- Safe mode (volume down + power), just 'boots normally'
- Recovery mode (volume up + power) done that for over two minutes, does nothing or just 'boots normally'
- Hold down the tiny yellow 'off' button under the SIM/SD cover, did nothing.
- Xperia Companion: PC won't recognize the phone either in that zombie state, or when it's off, so I tried 'device cannot be detected', shut phone down, held down volume down button, connected USB still holding down, waited for a while and viola, nothing happened.
It's factory OS, never messed around with it and I don't know the version (could be 5?).
Any ideas?
EDIT: Using the dedicated camera button, I can access the camera. It works (sort of), meaning you can see the camera display where the screen used to be black. And it immediately says "system process is not responding," so I'm guessing this is a system issue where it can't load basic stuff like the homescreen?
EDIT 2: BUMP
