Hey folks,
I have two problems with my good old M9.
It runs completely stock Android 6.0.
1. After changing the volume, the volume bar remains and doesn't automatically swipe out after a few seconds. I have to touch the display anywhere to make the bar disappear. I think the problem came after the last update, but I am not 100% sure. Any1 having this problem, too, and maybe solved it?
2. For some time now, the upper flashlight LED flickers when I turn on the flashlight.
Don't know if it affects the flash when taking a photo.
Is there a way to fix this or do I have to live with it?
Thanks in advance

Is this a known bug?
When I use the power management widget and toggle the screen brightness to the lowest. Then when I go to stand-by (by clicking powerbutton or automaticly) and try to activate the phone again the screen stays black (touch buttons light up but I can't use them).
I have to take out the batterie and reboot to get the screen back...
I'm so happy to see this.
I have exactly the same problem. My Wildfire S arrived this afternoon. I used it without any problems until about 22.30, then all of a sudden it wouldn't get out of standby anymore. The only way to get it working again is indeed by removing the battery for a second.
I did a factory reset (through the general phone menu) and now the problem has disappeared, but it could come back any second.
Other people experiencing the same problem?
This is a phone bought in the Netherlands where I live by the way, the black Wildfire S.
I had the same problem.
I had my wildfire s mount to usb... and using the navigon software while driving... then suddenly went to black screen with the keys activated.
I tried to enable the screen but with no luck.
When I unplugged the usb...I push the power button... and suddenly it came back to normal.
!!
very strange.
well... I found a sort solution for this.
If you do what you said.... the only way to enable it again is to plug a usb...and unplugged it.
!!!!!
The bug starting when we enable the lowest brightness!!!!!!!
I'm having the same problem. If you don't set the brightness to the lowest, it won't happen. So, this will be consideration between stability and use duration
Just the Backlight is turned off.
I have the same problem. Use an external light source and bring light to your wildfire S and you'see it is still alive. If you are able to find your brightness settings using the flashlight, increase it and you will have your old display again... It is definetly a bug.
Hi,
so any news on this bug or whether htc is doing something about it?
Just got my WF S with the most recent software and still has this bug which is very annoying. Would be great to be able to use lower backlight for nights/less battery!!
UPDATE: using continuous lightness, I found that whenever I choose light lower than 12% it stays dark and has the bug, please HTC do something about it!!!
Has this been fixed in a custom rom or does it presist in all roms?
I had it on original and custom (CM7.2) ROMS.
Think this is general bug, too bad. or someone does NOT have this bug??
I have this bug too. But u can Try to Pull the ring in the middel, Then the Screen shoudl appear again.
I do not have this bug.
Stock European ROM 2.3.5, jikantarus OC Kernel, BL unlocked and rooted
Hi all,
The sound slider on my lock screen is not working correctly. If the volume is on when the phone goes to sleep, using the sound slider on the lock screen mutes it correctly (or vice versa), but then reverts back to the volume state before the slider was used after a second or so. However, this does not happen if I touch the screen again after sliding the slider before the volume reverts back to the state prior to sliding the slider (a focus issue perhaps?).
I am using CyanogenMod 7.1.0-RC1.5 (03.09.11) released by Quarx for the Defy (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033654). I have been using it without problems for 2 or 3 months, but this problem just started occurring as of last night.
Can anyone help me fix this problem? Logcat isn't showing me any useful information that I can see.
Cheers
I'm currently on cm72-111128.2017-NIGHTLY-Defy.
Everything works fine except that recently I notice sometimes after I turn off the screen with power button the four function buttons are still bright (technically it's three b/c the search button seemed to be broken a week ago). And that might be the reason that occasionally the battery drains too fast.
My ways to solve the issue: 1) reboot; 2) go to Device settings - Button brightness and adjust the brightness level to whatever level and then back to the previous level you've set.
I know this might be a bug. Anyone has some idea to fix it? Our hero Epsylon3 has been devoted him to porting ICS and I'm afraid he won't have much time to care CM7.
This bug deserved a new thread.
If you've updated your phone to cm12, 5.0.2 then DO NOT DO THE FOLLOWING:
1. in Settings>Display and lights DO NOT keep "Adaptive Brightness" and "Color Enhancement" switched on at the same time. If you do, and then EVER try to manually reduce the screen brightness to minimum, YOUR SCREEN WILL BO BLANK. PERMANENTLY. Not kidding.
AND IT WILL NOT RETURN TO WORKING CONDITION without a factory reset.
Things that won't work:
1. Pulling out the battery and trying to reboot it. Nope. Been there, done that.
Hope CM takes note of this.

Cure for it
well i have experienced it. but to avoid it you can choose the option
setting>status bar> and check Adjust brightness by sliding across the status bar.
so whenever the screen turned off you can swipe on the top from left to right so that brightness can be adjusted again!
you dont have to reset your phone.

SOLUTION!!!!
It is still possible to take control over your phone in this situation. If your screen goes blank, this doesn't means that your phone has stopped working, the phone is still functional and you just have to find a way to increase the brightness. If you ever encounter this problem just swipe the screen twice from top to bottom to open the status bar and then slide your fingers on the screen where the brightness controller is present. This will surely solve your problem without any factory reset bull****. Please note that during this complete process the screen will remain blank. I have tested it a hundred times and it works 100%.
this works ... instead of factory reset

how to set the display contrast
or colour enhancement
in yu yureka
Just install vysor in your pc and plug your phone to the pc. Now control your phone using your pc and increase the brightness same wy you reduced it. No need for any factory reset. Hope this helps.
you should Try this
Facing The Phone to Direct Sunlight or if in the night. face it near to the bulb. It will adapt light from the bulb and screen works then you can turn off adaptive brightness. That's works for me.
Every time I boot my lovely handset the brightness is maxed out no matter where it was positioned via the slider in the settings menu previously. It takes a good couple of minutes to sort itself out and within that time the screen flashes/glitches ever so slightly as if it's trying to remember the above settings. I can move the toggle slider left/right and there is not much of a change either. Weirdly if I tap the back of the phone when this is happening it will change the brightness on every tap. After this initial booting time it is perfectly fine and works as it should and doesn't happen again until reboot. I am on stock everything and this has happened on 1.30 and now on 1.80 firmware(s). Only a slight annoyance but I'm more worried about hardware failure. Does anyone else have or know about this problem?

Yes, mine is super bright on boot and shutdown, too. I actually thought this was by design.
Verizon HTC 10, rooted stock.
