Since HTC 10 has Sense8_GP, it has the stock SystemUI. I think a HTC-stock-ish UI could be achieved with some tinkering.
Can somebody make the icons have a line below them, and use the old icons?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=elsalvador.htcsense7cm12theme
And activate the 3x3 layout somehow, like on CM13, to look like the regular Sense?
(Btw, i've noticed that the HTC Desire 10 has the old icons on the status bar... That means it has the regular Sense. So maybe in the future, a ported System UI from that phone might be possible?)
The 2nd screenshot shows a VibeUI theme for CM13/12.x. Is the only photo i found with the 3x3 layout without installing CM13 just to take a screenshot.
I'd be very much up for this as well—I cannot stand the new QS.
When I was using the M8 (back around May or June this year), I flashed the "S Rom" which had ported a ton of features from the HTC 10...one of which was the HTC 10 QS (the same ones we have natively in our stock ROM for the HTC 10).
Not liking the QS then either, I inquired of the rom's dev if I could get the "old" quick settings back, and somehow I was able to. Unfortunately, I cannot remember if getting the old QS was the result of a specially modified S Rom for the M8, or if it was just a mod I flashed. If the latter, it wouldn't be too hard to tear that mod apart to see what code was changed (which I suspect is in the SystemUI.apk).
I'll look it into as soon as I have a moment.
Yeah. Comparing the files would be too hard and would take way too much time.
One other thing i dont really like (and you would probably think the same) is the volume control pop-up. Being at the top if pretty hard to reach with one hand, because the display is so big.
I liked the one from Sense 7, Android 5.1.1, because it was in the middle of the screen where was easy to reach.
I wonder if anybody could move it a bit lower.
Update: HTC Desire 10 Pro only has the Sense icons in the status bar. The QS is the same as on HTC 10.
It kinda looks like an A9.
I've seen a review on YT of a demo unit.
HTC One M9 just received Nougat and it has the regular UI.
And even Google Pixel has a HTC-ish SystemUI (gray background with blue elements)... Well it was made by HTC afterall.
I wonder if those can be ported...

There are already a number of total Sense UI ports, if you want the whole shebang.
If you're already running CM6.1 (as your thread title suggests), then you can manually set a black status bar in the CyanogenMod Settings (just go to the normal phone settings menu and it's in there). You can adjust the color to pretty much anything you want - I did some experimenting with CM6 on my Nexus One trying to match the status bar to various backgrounds - it's do-able, but you have to tinker with a bunch of different settings, applying the same hex color code to each one. Kind of a hassle.
CM6.1 also lets you import an XML file to change the colors, which you could build on your computer and then apply. Might be easier.
pl..... dev team some one pl make some blue or dark black/blue themes for one x.tired with stock look.this is request.pl.....

Sense 4 is alright as it is. However, I'd like to figure out a way to skin the current dock bar. Does anyone have a n00b guide out there?
I don't want to replace the Sense Launcher with Nova or Apex, since that'll basically disabled Sense widgets which is not a big deal but since a lot of other elements will remained skinned (in Sense) it would look worse to combine Sense with the AOSP-look
So in short, I want to be able to skin the current dock bar oh and also, does anyone know to replace the icons quick and easy? or are we looking at decompiling the framework-res.apk files and hack away?
Thanks!
One thing that really draws me to the Android OS is the customization. I'm super fascinated by the visuals. The ability to change the status bar, display different clocks, and overall just adding awesome widgets and such.
My question is, what widgets or visually changing apps do you use?

Desktop Visualizer is good for changing icons for your apps
also if you dont like massive apps on your screen download DPI resolution change/density - if you are using 320 or 360 resolution try changing it to 260, you'll understand what i am talking about if you download the app..(root required) makes your phone look more Sophisticated !
I've been thinking about rooting my phone, but scared I'll mess it up or something. Right now I'm stuck with stock look/feel.

Greetings everyone,
I am currently using a Sense 7 HTC Desire 820, and I want to ask a bit questions on the quick settings management and system lockscreen here today.
I got this phone half a year ago, since then, I have wished to replace the quick settings icons in the pulldown menu and system lockscreen into the one used by AOSP rom or Cyanogenmod. I have tested using different Xposed modules to perform the task but still they all failed to do so. So now I am wondering if there are anyways for me to force change the icons or the layout, for example and I guess by changing some icons and values in the SystemUI.apk or framework-res.apk, to the one I desired. Or are there any zip or application I can install onto my device so to perform the task? Does anyone got any ideas here or have experienced the above situation as me too?

i'd like to do this too. i'd like help on getting gravitybox quicksettings to work, overriding the device's default one. i also want to change the navigation bar icons so that they are all of the same look & size.
when i changed my dpi to 260, my navigation buttons became larger and i can't reduce their size. if i reduce the height of the navbar through gravitybox, the menu ley alone remains too large. see my screenshots. i changed dpi to 290 and the navbar is looking better now. but, even though i set font size as small, my fonts are bigger than i prefer.
please click this link for files i think are relevant to the issue under reference: http://www31.zippyshare.com/v/xw2JtFOG/file.html. thanks a lot in advance for any help/advice/links. let me know if any more info/files are needed.
One of my favorite thinga about Nextbit's OS was their icons. They were minimal yet still managed to catch my eye, and they were the most missed for me when I switched to a custom ROM. After switching, I became dissatisfied with pretty much every custom icon pack I found, and I longed for the Nextbit icons. I searched for a while, and came to the conclusion that nobody had really attempted this before. So I took the plunge. This was made for CM13 specifically but should work for Lineage or most other roms or launchers with icon support. Themes all system apps and the Google Apps, to give them a default rounded look ala Pixel.
I made a Robin icon pack for a cm13 nextbit Robin inverted theme I never got around to releasing bc cm was discontinued. And I had about 35 more icons than this all custom made including better remakes of the originals. On one of my outboard drives, let me plug some of them in and see if I can find them. I broke up with my ex and moved out so I have to look around for them, but I do have them somewhere. I'll find them and post what I made and try to add to your existing icon pack.apk if it works?
Oh I also made several variations of the clock on a few custom widget apps buzz widget and zooper... There is already a zooper one floating around somewhere, but I couldn't seem to find it yesterday so I remade them. I'll post the zooper one when I'm done with it. I finished the buzz widget one about an hour ago and realized I couldn't share it at least not easily maybe it saves the templates somewhere I'll look. But due to.the nature of them not being shareable or easily shareable I started to make a zooper verson. I kind of like zooper better anyway bc of it's ability to have multiple actions contained within one widget.
Nextbit Robin icons I made.... Enjoy
Here they are since its a waste to not post them here's the ones I could find. I'll post more in the next post all are completely custom nothing has been copied all are made from the ground up in Photoshop overlaying them you'll see and of course file size.
These are the ones I can find so far...
