Please suggest best apps to install in mi max. As we have benefit of big screen.
My fav is kindle.
What are your fav apps ?????
best apps are such a subjective topic,it all depends on the usage scenario.well here is my opinion .we can use the screen size and powerful hw for productivity, content creation, and multi tasking.here is my list:
1)note taking app--omni notes (has options for scribble note,attachments,color coding,tags,check lists,offline backup&restore)
2)web browser---dolphin(near desktop rendering,text reflow with jetpack enabled,flash support,custom user agent)
ucbrowser--(gotten bloated these days but still best on metered network as it supports traffic compression, plus has in built flash support,html5 video player, smooth scrolling in my experience, option for fullscreen view)
3)music player(offline use)-- jair player(folder view,customisable colors,snappy performance in my experience)
4)video player-- mx player(hw rendering,sw rendering for unsopported codecs,gesture controls,completely hideable ui)
content creation
5)video--kinemaster pro(didnt personally use but very extensive according to reviews)
6)images--snapseed(manual control for filters,my fav)
afterlight--(extensive instagram style filters, but premium app)
7)file manager--mixplorer (highly customisable ui,tab support)
fx explorer(split view browser,easy ui)
multi tasking tools to make use of powerful hardware::
glovebox(app switcher,but premium)
omniswitch(free and best option but may not work on all roms)
flashify--to seamlessly switch btw web browsers)
if we get some rom with native multi window support it would make tge deal sweeter,i mean note 2 had multi window, and it should nt be prob for atleast from hw side considering our hw is more powerful

Yes, I've used the latest and updated version from the Play Store. It doesn't show the 3-dot button anymore and it works without and flaw. All the option function properly, especially the 2x bitrate, resultinh in HUGE videos but, from my testing it doesn't manage to improve in any way on the stock camera's low framerate. lgCamera on the other hand is capable of overriding it, but poses other problematic issues, to me at least.

- still non 3.x kernel
- very fast unlock speed
- super fast connecting to wifi network
- faster stock browser (Android 4.0.4 expected)
- multitasking minfress still the same
- still 3d widgets but much smoother sense launcher!! no stutter but instead it hiccups every now and then
- the pinch to zoom is now much smoother, the zoomed out previews are now in low resolution
- USB selection menu button is gone, you just select and it sets
- gallery video bug seems gone, i placed some flvs and the gallery did not see them (which was causing the bug) also .3gp is still not recognized
- Auto brightness is now retweaked and brighter
- All the beats profile are gone, only On and Off now for beats enhancement sound good, maybe profiles auto detect beats earphones ill try at home with my XL beats set, right im using the stock ones
- new solution for the 3Dot menu! we can change it on the fly in the display options, with option for long hold recent apps for menu or vice versa or the 3dot menu, display menu is now called display gestures and buttons
- call menu still lags without force 2D acceleration
- still no power options
- live wallpaper scrolling bug still unsolved
Performance:
the UI is a lot more responsive now overall feel of speed is much enhanced
in games:
ondemand governor is improved it now ramps to full dual core 1400mhz on screen unlock, its also much more aggressive in launcher and certain games
interactive governor seems even more aggressive with reduced clock change latency but it still get stucks sometimes in dual core or even single core mode
performance governor still locks to 1.4ghz dual core only
Ripetide, shadowgun and zen pinball much improved n stable performance on the stock governor
Sonic 4eII still very bad dips on stock governor and minfrees
Nova 3 still very bad frame rates without some tweaking
the performance improvements seems on the CPU side and not the GPU
i tested games non stop even locked the clocks at 1.2 the device never got HOT, hoping the temps and over heat problems are improved

now that the leaked Rom has settled I can give better feedback on performance base 2.05.405.2
its excellent news for stock users first! the stock governor has been completely fixed now it properly uses t3 in games
the Rom us completely stock, so I didn't touch anything n been using it as is
all games even sonic r playing very well without touching the governor no sharp dips anymore
yes sonic frame rate is not great to begin with but the governor related issue us gone, I even say its a little better than before withy tricks so definitely we have performance boost
heat issue are gone too the device gets warm but no longer you feel on the screen
some broken games r still broken like temple run stuttering and nova but I rally blame the games I see no faults on the CPU governor
all in all an excellent much needed update, only sense launcher still has smoothness issue, but the new ultra Rosie is running great, we still have the hiccup on drawer opening however
I love how the CPU ramps to full speed on screen unlock and how smooth the folders open
they fixed many other things like the gallery scrolling 60fps on the main thumbnails view
also the weather app is now 60fps
great job HTC wish your ego let's u dump the 3d widgets

Hey. I want to finaly find ROM for everyday use. But i dont really know what advantages and disadvantages those androids have. I want newer system than GB, but im afraid of batery draining and etc. I don't record videos or use panorama, so i don't care about those bugs. I just want nice smooth rom for games (i mostly play solitaire ), but good battery life. But i think most important for me is interface and battery... Can u tell me main differences between those three system, so i can choose the best rom. I can install milions of different ROMs but i dont really know the differences... But if u want u can recommend me good rom, i won't be angry.
I had tons of roms installed on my gio, but never stayed with one rom more than two weeks.

True.

yes.camcorder is working but only with 3rd party app which is working sluggish as hell and for HQ playback yes it is.
I don't think that battery performance is bad in ICS or JB... My phone can lasts for 2 days...
And about the memory management: In Maclaw's AOSP ICS and in CM10.1 by OldDroid I have ~150-160 Mb free RAM... This is a big improvement for these android versions.
My battery lasts a day on JB (listening to music all the day xD)
The performance is very good and JB is stable. You should use a task manager (Advanced Task Killer for instance) and close apps like Email.
In my opinion GB is a bit obsolete. JB's new notifications are beautiful! <3
Hello,
I've received a few reports from users about poor performance of app running on Samsung Galaxy S4, the models w/ Snapdragon chips. Strangely enough, it runs perfectly smooth on Nexus4 w/ similar chip - Snapdragon 4. After googling for possible performance bottlenecks I've found some clues that this can be related to OpenGL drivers.
Could you please download app and tell:
1. If animation of live wallpaper itself is smooth.
2. If animation of launcher UI is smooth.
3. Firmware details.
You can check performance with postprocessing set to Medium and Off - this can be changed in live wallpaper's settings.
Google Play link (app is free):

I recently transitioned away from Samsung to the Pixel and I miss the Game Launcher app and the Sound Assistant app which had functionality that I haven't seen in other apps.
I have tried installing their APK and they just crash whenever I launch them. Is there a way to get these working?
You would need to install the apps they are dependent on to install, load and run.
Probably some it is baked into the Samsung firmware.
Samsung heavily mods the Android OS especially starting with Android 10.
The Pixel landscape is barren by comparison.
You also lost the SSC codec so if you have any of the Samsung Buds bt series devices, that is their optimal codec.
Lol never thought someone would miss Samsung apps !
Old habits die hard, change is hard; ask any Android->iOS/ iOS->Android switcher. You need a lot more of the One UI Framework for Samsung apks to work.

What features - exactly - are those two apps offering that you can't seem to find with other apps?

Game Launcher I never use but Sound Assistant I use constantly, it provides up to 100 increments for volume control.
On my N10+ Q variant there are literally dozens more small Samsung system akps that make the Q UI user friendly and functional compared to my N10+ Pie variant.
Android 11 and 12 are all messed up... doubt even Samsung can clean it up completely.
Q is still user friendly/functional on Samsung flagships though.
The Samsung One UI is fast, efficient, rock solid stable with the best customization of any stock Android. At least half dozen Galaxy store add ons for increased customization that aren't available otherwise. It's a very good ecosystem.
My N10+'s look like and act I want them to.
You simply can't mod and trick out a stock Pixel to near this degree... par for the course.

The Samsung Sound Assistant App offers individual app control for volume and some other finer granular controls on a per-app basis, e.g. one app that is constantly too loud is Instagram in comparison to other apps and I usually cut its volume by 20% and some games I only like a slight sound from meanwhile others I like at full volume and have them automatically set to the levels I like is rather handy. This functionality is built into an overlay app that is integrated with the sound settings so you don't need to exit an app to adjust volume levels.
The Samsung Game Launcher, in my opinion, is far superior to the Google Play Game Launcher as the user interface has a better layout which helps with navigation and opening apps, there is also optional game muting options, discord integration, and the instant apps are a better selection (rather than just booting a store app temporarily, which is also handy). The ability for the launcher to hide all of the game icons so you know you only need to go to one app to find your games, there is some optimisation built into the app (disabling some things to make games run faster but this is hardly relevant with a powerful phone). The last thing is that the Samsung Game Launcher ads are less intrusive when you have the app in folder mode (appears over the top of the ads).
