are there any software or modification that can modify the number of steps/levels of the in-call (earphone) volume. it looks like there is only 7 steps/levels while others (music volume and etc) are 15 steps.. so the lowest setting on the in-call volume is rather too loud for my IEM... I searched around for volume control, found Fine Volume Control but it does not work for in-call volume.. I asked on the developer's thread and he mentioned its not being developed anymore.. so I'm hoping someone here would be able to help..
the only alternative i can think of is getting a in-line volume control..but was wondering if there are any software/other solution to this?
Thanks in advance.
There is a build.prop edit for this (if i remember correctly) , but it changes it system-wide if you're ok with that (media volume, ringer volume, all sound volume steps are changed)
I will update my post as soon as I find it and/or remember the exact code.
In the meantime, search build.prop increase volume steps :google: and see if you can find it, this definitely exists though
Thank you.. I didn't know there is such a thing as build.prop.. I found what you meant.. Thanks.. it gives me a reason to root my phone.. =)

No problem :good:
Any simple mods out there to boost the speaker volume a bit? My HTCONE speakers blow this tablet away in the volume department.
Looking for a simple volume booster. Any amount of volume boost would help. I am not into those mods that take a lot of configuring., not well versed in the audio area so I don't want to read a big manual/guide to boost volume nor have the time to do so.
Any links? Im On 4.4.1

Try Xposed with the volume booster.
http://www.addictivetips.com/android/what-is-xposed-framework-for-android-how-to-install-it-guide/
Once installed, you can search for different modules, the volume booster should be there.
Keep in mind, prolonged high volume usage isn't good for the device, the stock cap is there for a reason.

Not personally, I find the default volume is loud enough
Has anyone found a mod that will allow more granular adjustment of the media volume? I tried a few Xposed plugins and they have no effect. This may need to be baked into a ROM, but I'm not sure. I could be a limitation imposed by Samsung too.
Thank you for your help. :highfive:

Yes, I have Viper installed and it will only let you adjust output levels, not the steps of the volume control.
I love my tab S and maybe this is the best screen I've seen my whole life.
But one thing bothers me that, I've been using the s and note devices from past 3 years, one thing I always did was Boost the sound for Speaker and the Headphone in the Mixer paths xml file.
I've searched this tab for a similar file and have got absolutely nothing.
Any good developer please help me out, if you can find that for it would be a great help

You could install my ROM and use the DSP manager, it also uses mixerpaths though a more serious answer is look at the comments it should point u in the right direction.

you can edit default_gain in system/etc
I thought xml edit only applied to CM/AOSP/GPe roms.
OP, did this end up working out for you?

I've attached some screen shots to what you need to modify to increase your external speakers along with headphones.
You'll need Root Explorer or equivalent.
Let me know if it helped.
It's best to raise the digital volume it sounds less distorted ...my setting are +12 to all digital volumes and sounds great
Just to to clarify, you only need to raise the digital volume? I'm going to give it a shot.

I have tried that and multiple others. Some work well, some dont.
None have given me what I am looking for which it the ability to boost things like system volume, notification volume, etc. Still looking for a way to do that.
The best that I can accomplish is boosting media volume via a music or video player. If that is all you are looking for then the equalizer and bass booster will work fine.
Hi
is the notification sound volume level linked to the ring tone volume level on the oneplus3? I can't differentiate between the 2 and set different volume levels! This means if I have a loud ringtone I also have a loud text notification!

You can achieve that thru an Exposed module or installing a custom ROM that can do that.
I'm on Resurrection Remix and it has that option.
