My new Lenovo Vibe P1 Pro behaves after 3 days of using like this:

Do you have the same issue? I can't believe it! I was carrying my OnePlus One in the same pocket for 2 years without any symptom of this...
How is yours?

I have no problems whatsoever. But a friend of mine has screen problems, yellow spots on one side.
It seems from some kind of overheating, might be charging related. She's has original plastic mobile phone body protection that I don't use,
so that might lower cooling effect.

Hi all,
so, i persuaded my friend to buy a s4, bt now she's facing several problems with it, the problems are:
1) heating issue (my Note 2 heats too, bt she claims that hers heat very fast, even for short usages)
2) Front camera is blurry ( i'll post a pic soon)
3) she put her phone to charge the whole night (about 8 hours) and when she turned it on, the battery percentage was only 95%
She also bought the phone for a cheaper price ( I'm thinking it's nt 100% genuine, bt she said she gt it from a authorised dealer)
Hope there's a solution to these problems
for now, i'm suggesting her to send it back to a samsung center for a change of device.
thanks!
How much cheaper are we talking about here? You can always buy warranty as well just for protection. As for the heating issue, I do find it to be more frequent that my previous Note 2 or S3. I noticed this especially when I'm using the camera, YouTube, browser. Haven't even played any games on it yet.
As for the camera, you might try to go into settings. Perhaps its trying to auto-focus too much - I also have this issue sometimes with the camera when it wouldn't focus, but just adjust the settings maybe.

These issues are common amongst many users. I personally would not recommend this phone to a friend without telling then about these issues. Its a shame that Samsung has the latest and greatest and then ruin it with these small but important problems.
I'm extremely happy with my phone ONLY because I am rooted and will have access to amazing ROMs that will cure these problems. Software aside, the actually device is amazing and i wouldn't want any other.
The camera could be blurry due to the packaging sticker that most people don't notice and don't remove that's on the camera. Although the sticker has a round cut out and shouldn't affect the picture at all unless its misaligned. Some say its there for protection others say to remove it. Do as u wish.
On the topic of heat, if your charging and heavily using your phone, it DOES get unreasonably hot. Uncomfortable but still not a defect. I'm sure the device is more than capable of handling these temperatures. But it is uncomfortable to hold...this is also very subjective. Hot to me may not be hot to you and vise versa. But I think that it is much hotter than older phones so I understand why people can be alarmed by the difference.
Charging batteries is a wonky topic. Batteries all behave slightly differently. They are temperamental and take time to perform their best. Fully draining and then fully charging ur battery is good practice to ensure good and long lasting performance. But I'd say its too early to call your issue a problem that requires a replacement. If it were, let's say, 75% I'd do something about it. 95? Ehhh not an issue. I suggest getting a larger aftermarket battery anyway if you want acceptable battery life. (12hours)

Seriously? I came to the S4 from the Fascinate (S1), and my USB port is just as firm as it ever was on the Fascinate. (Of course, haven't had the S4 enough to tell..)
Thanks guys for your reply,
Really appreciate it
Like you guys said the problems are normal

Uh... those problems are not normal. Those sound like serious issues and do not seem consistent with a typical S4 experience, at least not mine or the two other people I know that have one. I would even consider that your friend purchased an imitation s4, which are known to exist.
If ever in doubt, return the phone to where she got it from.

I, likewise, have NONE of those issues. At all. I do have occasional stuttering lag, but that's it. If I were having those issues I would send it back.

Though it is possible that there are hardware issues with the device itself, here are some common things to check:
1) Heating is normal when running graphic intensive apps like games. If the phone is heating up while idle, it is a problem.
2) Make sure there is no plastic covering on the front camera. The picture may appear gritty on the screen but transfer it to a computer and check the resolution.
3) I am almost certain it is taking forever to charge because she may be using an old charger or an old usb cable. The S4 comes with a different charger output (0.5V and 2 A) & will charge the phone quickly. The older chargers are (0.5V & 1A), which will charge the S4 but take forever.
Check these things first. If any of these are off, replace the phone asap!
Hi,
I'm experiencing a problem that when I tilt my note (s-pen in the socket and facing downwards) and shake lightly, the device detected that the pen is detached but in fact it is still in the holster. It pose as a problem because when I bring out the device the screen turns on now and then when it is in my bag. This cause a lot of battery drain. I'm not sure if everyone is experiencing this or my set is faulty.
Anyway if anyone wonders,
The stylus problem is related to a LCD problem according to the samsung technician. I was playing with the day note using the ipad's smart cover. I wonder if its the magnet that damaged the LCD..
Same problem

I just started having that problem as well and I haven't put my screen near a magnet. Did the tech give you an idea as to what needs to be done?

It is the same to me. I don't use any magnetic case. Sometimes I grab with my hand and it turn on because of the pen detached detection.
Is there a way to turn it off? Without root?

Why in God's good name did you not, or do you not, return it and get an exchange? This is obviously not normal behavior and is a problem, and will likely get worse as time goes on....I would not accept that out of a6 hundred dollar tablet....no chance
Anyone feel the detection of the s pen in the holder is too sensitive?
Going to be getting this tablet tomorrow and I was wondering how SquareTrade works? I bought the tablet for $499.00 on Amazon so am I supposed to buy the 450-500 plan or the 500-600 plan? I got the 16 GB version so MSRP is $550 but I paid $499. I'm new to this extended warranty stuff.

GT-N5110 wifi version. Ive had this device for 10 days. Out the box it was running 4.1.2 and seemed work great other than the occasional 3-5 seconds when screen would become unresponsive during normal use. After using it for a few days I decided to go ahead and update to 4.2.2 thinking maybe it would fix the screen issue. It did fix that issue but now im having another problem. After the device sits dormant for awhile the screen doesnt respond to touch but still works fine with the s pen. Ill turn it on after sitting all night and after swiping to unlock the screen it becomes unresponsive. I usually have to lock/unlock the screen several times before it will start responding. After it starts working I can be on it for hours with no more problems. But if I lock the screen an set it down for awhile when I go to use it again it does the samething. It seems like it has to warm up. I tried doing factory data reset but that didnt help. It is rooted also but the only thing ive done so far is get rid of some bloatware.(i didnt root it untill after the problem started). Anyone have any advice?
Do you have your note in a cover , and if so does it have a magnet.
Sent from my GT-N5110 using xda app-developers app
That does sound rather crazy, the unresponsiveness is out of the ordinary... did you try turning off a lot of the extra features built in by Samsung? another thing you could do is download Clean Master from the play store and take a look at your Ram use-age and clean out some cache files with it, this might help with the lag. The touch response could be hindered due to a case or screen protector... other than that the only thing i could think is if there was physical damage done to it before that could cause the touch screen to act that way.
Ummmm... I would have taken it back to the store and asked for a replacement.
That is not normal at all. even with the device's settings left alone, there should not be any issues with responses with touch.
Note... The pen feature is totally separate from touch. The screen has two different features, one being a digitizer for the pen function the other for touch. It is possible that during assembly that the connection for the touch screen is faulty, as a bad solder joint during wave process could make the connection heat related. As the device cools, the contacts contract causing a fault with touch operation. When heated up from normal use, expansion forces contact between connector and board for normal operation to function with touchscreen.

The problem was my samsung book cover! Can't believe samsung would make a cover that causes these kinds of issues. Glad I only paid 7 bucks on ebay instead of 50 at best buy. Thanks guys for the comments!

Thanks for the FYI. I was using the moko whatever with a keyboard and I got the freezes all the time. I was thinking about the official Samsung one but if that gives you problems then forget it. I almost sold this thing on eBay cause I couldn't take the freezes anymore. Now I use a tpu case with it and couldn't be happier

help me to fix it........thank u
Do you have anything like smart unlock or lock screen gestures? I only have double tap.to wake and proximity wake off.
HI
I was about to write on this topic. I have had OP3 for just 4 days and I noticed it get warm very quickly. I will be very interested to hear of possible answers. Maybe the aluminum cover has something to do as it conducts heat more than plastic?

The phone heating issue has usually been related to the finger print scanner always scanning even when it's in the pocket. Is your fingerprint scanner active?
Think I've found a solution to this issue, delete your finger prints on the security screen, clear the cache, reboot and then enter just one finger/thumb and the heating up problem seems to have been resolved!
3 since I found that solution of the OP forum I've had no heating up problems and my battery life seems to have drastically improved.

Hu Guys!
Does anybody know if the G3 is allso affected in the Hardware/Bootloopbug like the G4 V10 and V20?
I've read about poorly glued / soldered CPU Ram connection on these models, is the G3 also affected?
Really nobody knows something!?
Nope, Ive owned 2 already since these 4 years and the only problem i have was the volume buttons sometimes not working and the battery messing up but thats only cuz the battery is old.

Sounds good, cause i planning to buy one...
Thanks for answer!:highfive:
It is 100% affected, the rumors say on the models made in 2014 there was a bad soldering job on the eMMC. So you might start seeing scree fading to black, boot loops. And the battery issue is a normal one imo.
Thanks for warning! I chosed now a Galaxy Note 4 to be save:highfive:
