Why not? it takes two minutes to flash, you can backup your device at the he same time and you don't have to wait for the OTA to reach your region.

My firend too has this problem, Stock ROM, Locked Bootloader and he fail installing OTA updates (3.2.6>3.2.7). Solutions? Except flash entire rom...

Same here. Connections are sadly not good everywhere so downloading the full ROM is gonna take a lot of times here..
If anyone is able to solve that, I would really appreciate it.
OP3 3.2.6 TWRP/SuperSU installed

Okay, I found the problem
For people that can't install OTA's
First of all re-lock the bootloader (it will delete all data)
Download full zip of OxygenOS 3.2.6
Install it via adb sideload and wait patiently
After this go to system updates and download 3.2.7
Now no more install failed

This is a simpler solution for you? After this, for rooting, you unlock the bootloader and lose your data. And how do you know that when the next OTA arrives it will install just like that without following the same procedure again?

Cannot install OXOS 3.1.2 after rooting

Hi,
I rooted my phone using this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...ol-tool-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t3398993.
I am unable to install update 3.1.2. Its downloading successfully. But when i start to install the phone is rebooting and going into TWRP Recovery. Any solutions. Any downloadable update to file to flash it manually.
You can't take an OTA when rooted using the stock recovery you'll need TWRP and a ZIP file of the update

Donwload the update manually via miui site and flash it via twrp.
OTA only works on stock recovery. If you had done a quick research you would've found that.

They also need to update that twrp version.
Official is up to 3.2.1 now....
So how come last update it worked without doing it manually?
And if I want to remove TWRP, how do i do that?

Updating OTA after TWRP install

Hi all, i have unlocked the bootloader of my Note 8T and installed the latest TWRP, i was going to install xiaomi.eu ROM, but sadly things has gone "bad", when i try to format, it fails, giving me a lot of red errors lines, ending with Operation not permitted, so i stopped there and flashed back the stock MIUI ROM through Xiaomi Flash Tool. Now since the issues with TWRP, I'm wondering how can i update when i will receive new updates via OTA? I think i wouldn't be able to do that with TWRP since the errors it gives me just formating. You guys think i would be able to update by downloading the fastboot update and flash it through Mi Flash Tool?
MichaelMay said:
You'll recieve new OTA updates, the recovery (TWRP before, stock now) has been replaced completely and TWRP is no longer your recovery.
I know what the initial problem is as well, you need another TWRP and if you had just read the forums you'd already know that and all of this could have been avoided.

I'm sorry, but i've used the latest TWRP for Ginkgo/Willow as xiaomi.eu requires. Also i've read of other users trying others recovery and encountering the same issue anyway.
You try this way https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ion-errors-all-the-time.4203951/post-84523785

So flashing this Miui HellasTWR recovery should fix the issue? I can flash it through fastboot, or i have to flash it by the recovery (TWRP in my case) as shown on the video? Thanks for your help.
Me too but still OTA the latest version of miui eu 24-2-2021

I did and ran out of red error line by this flash Miui HellasTWRP recovery -> HellasTWRP will ask for password (lock screen password), data will be decoded and now you can install custom rom according to Conventional way (4 wipe).
Note that updates only via twrp are not available via OTA

So MIUI HellasTWRP Recovery is the cure for the issue? That's Nice! I'm going to try again then. A little question, did you flash the HellasTWRP through fastboot adb mode? Thanks for letting me know!
Yes, flash by adb mode

I'm not sure where this OTA update could be used with custom recovery. even for the stock recovery it seems the whole recovery flash image is required

MiFlash has options to flash with & without wiping. You can backup with the built-in tool or try Alpha Backup on play store.
Your recovery is outdated and is the reason for the failed flash. Try orangefox or dungphp's TWRP/Pitchblack.
Finally you can force a download of the full rom and not just the update from the updater app. It's in the menu at the top right. If you don't see it tap the 'currently installed' text a bunch.
Or just click here to download

Question Do you need to unlock the bootloader in order to upgrade from Global Miui -> EEA Miui ?

So I downloaded this "Incremental Update" file for the latest EEA Miui version (12.5.6) and I was wondering if it is possible to update to it from my global 12.5.4 version without losing any data?

No you can not!
Because the global and the eea are two different rom.
If you want miui 12.5.6_EEA you have to:
1)Unlock the bootloader;
2)Flash fastboot full version 12.5.6 with miflash.

Wrong its possible without unlocking bootloader, I did it yesterday.
On my X3 Pro from EEA to Global. I made it with XiaomiToolV2 but use the Local Zip File option that works.

I dont think so. It works fine for me but I still did a factory reset after the update (just to be sure), no problems so far. Im using the phone since yesterday. I even got OTA update from 12.5.4.0 to 12.5.5.0 and it was successful
You can actually. I've switched from Global rom to India rom without unlocking bootloader with no problems before. I've even locked it by an accident when i was coming back from Xiaomi.eu rom (not EEA) and it worked perfectly fine. Then I've unlocked again and went back to custom roms. Just don't flash China rom. My phone is Global variant if it helps.

yes, it is possible, (I haven't personally tested that software) but using the full package and not the incremental upgrade.
However, it is not recommended to do any modding operation with a locked bootloader, because if any problem occurs in the process it is more complicated to solve it.
Let's say it is much safer to do these operations with an unlocked bootloader.
Yes it's very dangerous with a locked bootloader. Be careful. You risk bricking your phone and not being able to flash again.
