For those that miss adaway, adgard works very well for non root devices in browsers and apps. Download apk from their web. I am using the free trial and will get the premium soon.

You guys should just use Block This. It worms from rooted and non rooted phones and tablets. Has premium blocking features, does not slow your phone or tablet down, and is completely free. It beats Ad away and Ad Guard hands down.

That's a good point, I just stopped it because it was taking forever to load web pages in comparison to without!
I use Netguard. Haven't had an issue with it. It's developed by M66B

So far so good. No real battery drain and no data slowness.

I just want to pull Ron Johnson aside and tell him to invest in XDA Devs to manage competent android devices... been waiting months for any new app, and the ones we do have have are in serious need of updating(months overdue)... to think how fast devs get things accomplished for practically nothing on XDA, while apple devs under contract with JCP take months to get anything done is a travesty

First, be sure to have both apps opened. Then, on one of the apps touch on the typing area, to bring up the keyboard. Write at least one letter, and it should be able to float around. I wouldn't be surprised if a jailbroken iPhone could do that. And it'd be worth more in 2 years - and it'd still be getting software updates too, which I'm almost positive our Note 2s won't be getting in more than a year. >>
However, one thing the Note 2 can do that the iPhone will never be able to do is use a stylus like the s-pen. Sure, you can use a stylus, but it's like drawing with preschool crayons.
Just thought I'd be the voice of reason here lol

I don't have a note 2. I have an iPod touch and an Atrix 4G.
Apps on the iPhone can't resize. There is no framework for it. Even if it were possible the screen is too small.
Also I haven't seen any alternative keyboards.
The iPhone has a solid, simple, smart experience, however it does not have the potential of Android. An iPhone looks nicer, works seamlessly but isn't as capable as an Android phone.

I'm thinking about getting the HTC One but I want to know what changes Verizon's made to the device. Hardware and software changes. I currently have the Galaxy Note II and I'm disgusted with what Verizon did to the phone. Removing the WiFi toggle and replacing it with an ongoing WiFi notification that can't be disabled, removing Blocking Mode, putting their ugly logo on the home button, and making completely unnecessary changes to UI.
nothing to the hardware i dont think.
the software is raped with verizon stuff, per usual.
nothing a little root wont take care of though.
its a great device .

All Verizon's bloat can be wiped out with root and a custom ROM, and it is so easy to root. Just download rumrunner, find your build number, right click in a exe file and let it go.
Get the device, i've had it for 6 months and really like it.

Think again. VZW deleted the FM App, but even if you reinstall it, you'll find that they also disabled the ability to have the headphone cord act as an FM antenna.
Result: instead of listening to any FM station in your location at no charge, you can run up Verizon data usage by an app like TuneIn.

I like the retail note 4. The screen is fabulous and its fast. However I cannot get by being inundated by the advertisments. Some are full page when I open aps and others flash at the top or bottom of the screen. Very distracting.
Is there an ap or a way to eliminate or at least remove most of the ads. Please be specific. I have gone back to my rooted, unlocked note 2. Will return the 4 if I cannot resolve this issue on the retail 4.
Unfortunitly I do not want to spend 700 for a DE note4. Thanks

I have a 180 day free trial code for the Pro version that I haven't activated yet so if someone wants it let me know.
until there is Root, there's not much you can do about it. Adblock Plus works if you're on wifi, but I noticed that it sucks more battery power and makes the phone run hotter than usual.
My solution was to sell my Retail note 4 (since with all the rebates, I only paid $100 for it), and buy a DE Note 4.

A cheaper (temporary) solution would be to use your apps in 'Airplane Mode,' assuming it is not too much of an inconvenience :good:
I usually do this when there is no paid version for an app/game :3

I still have a 180 day trial code for the Pro version if someone wants it.
I made thread covering adguard and works great. Developer even jumped in thread to explain. It creates it's own vpn.Only way to block ads on a unrooted device. Adblock will only work on WiFi without root. AdGuard works on both WiFi & Cellular!
