Hi everyone,
This might be kind of odd question. Hopefully it is not out of this world.
I knows that everyone wants to root their phone and upgrades, use extra features, etc...
In light of third party apps enforcing no rooted phones. Can we unroot using SuperSU and still keeps the current custom ROM that we have?
Thanks in advance.
Hi!
I'm not sure the option is available on all ROMs, but at least on OctOS (I use Oct-M), if you enable Developer mode, you have an option under the Developer menu allowing you to disable root access to both applications and ADB. Now, would it allow you to install some no-root-allowed apps (looking at you, Good!), I'm not sure.

Hello everyone,
after flashed Android N, I've tested twrp 3.0.0 and supersu 2.68. If you change the vendor, putting one of MMB29V version, it will be the decrypting data, but when it flash a supersu, the installation is successful, but when you restart the phone, the system is not rootato. How I can fix this issue? Thanks a lot

Twrp is gone please tell how to install it again
Same issue here...I dont think it is possible, easily anyway. If you notice after it boots back into TWRP your internal storage is displayed as empty. All storage is. It says the installation is succeessful, but I think after it pushed the root files to ypur phone and rebooted to flash them, it could not as the files were no longer there......I don't know though.....Good luck!!

Regarding Root I have used phh's modified boot image from somewhere in XDA the link of which I forgot and fastboot flashed. With that I have installed phh superuser from Google play store and root works. However, some apps doesn't approve the SuperSU and busybox doesn't get installed. Meantime, there are multiple boot images for rooting N. If interested you can try the images one by one and post your results here
Here is root for N

You have to unlock the bootloader too. Unblocking the bootloader will wipe your device.
As a rule of thumb, I always unlock bootloader on day one of purchasing my devices. (mostly Nexus or OP so far). This way you avoid potentially losing data.
Or u can download systemless xposed which will allow to turn on and off to use Android pay

root (access) is obtained via apps like SuperSU
xposed has nothing to do with root access - it is an additional framework allowing for low level modifications (like amplify, etc)
unlocking bootloader is always the first step, from there you can flash supersu (which is NOT just an APK file).
there's a number of threads about it that can explain it better than i.

One more question : is the warrantly lost after rooting ?
I am having a hard time finding the culprit for the overlay preventing me from finishing the Google Pay setup. What am I missing? I am on RR.

Are you trying to install google pay while rooted? If so you need to unroot before you install Pay. You will also need to hide Pay from root using magisk hide.

Nope. However, if your just testing to see if your app works without root, I'd dirty flash your rom, then flash twrp again and let it boot up. You won't have root, but all your modules will still be there if you want to root again :good:
Thanks Badger!
Well I disabled all overlays except for Android system because I cannot undo it without root and still having issue with drawing over. Unable to hit the next button after after entering my three digit code and agreeing to the terms and conditions.

Anyone know how to hide root from spectrum TV app. I used magisk hide but that isn't doing it. It still is flagging the phone as rooted. Magisk hide works for my bank app so I don't understand why spectrum sees root.

We have to wait until xposed works for pie i guess.
They have a module that hides root better than in magisk
I'm ready to crack this egg. Service costs too much for such heavy limits on what can be done with it. There was a project a while back, when it was TWC TV, to remove the in/out of home limitations, hide root, and allow Miracast/HDMI use. Wonder what happened to that.

Anybody every figure out how to hide root from spectrum t.v. app. I've tried all settings and apps I can think of.
I'm assuming you tried repackaging magisk manager with a random name? It's in settings right under the "Clear Repo Cache". I have mine enabled so it now says Restore Magisk Manager, not sure what it says if you haven't done it.
Also try renaming or deleting the MagiskManager folder in the root of your file system. Magisk just stores downloads there so you don't need the folder. Pokemon Go requires both to be done as well as Magisk Hide.

I'm curious if you have any Magisk Modules installed? I've read elsewhere that some root was being detecting because of some magisk mods. If so, maybe try without any mods installed or with Magisk Core Only Mode enabled.
