You have background apps and processes consuming too much power. The charger will power the phone and charge it in that order.
Close apps, clear recents, turn wifi, gps and mobile data off. If you still get that message then you need to test the cable.

My brother's E975 (which used to be mine so I know practically all there is to know about it) suddenly wouldn't turn on. This happened after he had plugged it in to charge on his Xbox One. In the morning, it would not turn on. We left it on a charger for 10+ hours, no result. This is what fixed one of my problems when the phone was mine. We also tried connecting it to his laptop, no new devices in device manager, it didn't even refresh, so nothing detected. There are no sounds, vibrations or LED indications. When I had a problem before there was a red LED flashing. I know a lot about this phone and I'm stumped. Any ideas?
I had same problem about month ago. It was mainboard problem it was replaced by new one in LG service.

Try to use a more powerful charger like 2A OR 2.3A like the ones provided in Galaxy note 2/ 3/ 3neo..

Sometimes that was reset several times and led me nervous so loud ... I factory reset the phone, but again got the same problem ... what is your opinion?

Allow me to try to explain because I am experiencing the same problem and I am searching for a solution as well.
Basically there is some issue with powering the phone. It sounds like for both InFinityWar and I, our phones' batteries died and when we try to charge them the phone won't charge (won't power on, no notification light). The thing is that when we take out the battery and just plug the phone in directly to the a charger without the battery in the actual phone, a symbol of a battery with a question mark in it appears on the screen.
I do not know about OP but I have bought a new battery and have still been experiencing the same problem.

Seems to me that maybe the charging pins are short check to see if there is maybe rust on it....take it to a technician in ur local area maybe worth a 10$ fix
My wife 's brother gave me a galaxy S3, so i power off the Ace 2, remove the battery and i put it in its box for back up, i have to notice that till that day it worked fine.
After one month i wanted to check something so i put the battery on again and i try to power on, the samsung logo come on the screen but after some seconds it reboots.
I could open neither the recovery mode, only at download mode, i close it again and the next day it does not power on at all and it does not charging.
Any suggestion how can i resurrect it?
thanks and sorry for my bad english
Just try flash with Odin. With battery and without.

It works as a charging light when the battery is too low to turn on the display.
