Hi everyone. So I got this screen protector from MediaDevil (used to be called PhoneDevil) some months ago. It was pretty nice, crystal clear as advertised etc. But now all it does is collect finger prints like a magnet! I have tried to remove the damn thing from the screen for the past half an hour but no matter what I do, I can't seem to remove it!!!
Any of you have any experience with this type of screen protector? Any tricks that would help remove it?
Are you sure the finger print isn't on the other side of the screen protector, between the protector and the glass?

Been using the screen protector for the past 4 months. I am sure I would have noticed.
what you mean you cant remove it? just get your finger under it.. or stick some tape on the corner and peel it off together

It's extremely thin. I can't even see where the protector ends. You can't really see it. I've even emailed them to see what they say. High quality makes something annoying for once...

Try duct tape on the edges of the screen... it should work.
Otherwise with your fingernails or a plastic pen cap try find-peel the edges...
Maybe you're even not using a protector. =P
Hair dryer warm the edge slightly .

Use a heat gun or a hair dryer, makes the foil loose and a lot easier to remove.

Thought about that but worried that I will damage the phone. I got an email response to my query from them.
Hi ****,
I hope you are well. Thanks for getting in touch.
To remove the protector from the screen, we recommend using strong adhesive tape to pull up on the protector. This should remove it from the screen without needing to use your fingernails and risk damaging the screen underneath.
Do let me know how you get on
Best Regards,
Lindsay

Is the glass completely scratch ressistant? Is it pure glass or is it groilla glass?
I honestly dont understand why u wpuld remove it? Its like a perfectly fit protector u never bought
Hello Omaro,
Z1 Compact uses Dragontrail glass which is as strong as gorilla glass. The glas does however not come with a oleophobic coating
As an answer to your first question there's no glass which is 100% scratchproof. Minerals can scratch pretty much any types of glass, and by minerals I'm talking about sand, stones etc etc.
The reason why most people wants to remove the preinstalled antishatterfilm is due to that it collects dust, fingerprints and its very easy to scratch. It's not recommended to remove it if you're not planning to apply a oleophobic coating on top of the glass.
Hope my answer cleared any doubts,

The surface of the glass under the plastic film is not as smooth as other phone screens. I think this is because it is not intended to be used without a film above it.
I removed Sonys plastic film and added Orzly Tempered Glass Screen Protector (you can use any other tampered glass protector). nearly perfect for my and much more scratch resistant than with the plastic film.

The reason because it does not feel as smooth is because of that there's no olephobic coating on top of the glass. You need to apply one yourself using a liquid solution, and it'll feel like on any other phone.
thanks guys^
but does this olephobic coating u speak of wear off after time?
EDIT: btw I cant see any anti shatter film on the backside of my phone. Shouldnt there be on there as well?
ty in advance.
btw great phone.

nope. the z1c has a plastic black. no shatter-protection necessary, but causes the flashbleed problem. some people have replaced theirs with the glass back from the z1f, though.
I don't have any screen protector and am very happy with that. No need to put some ugly stuff on the front glass.

but wont that cause som nasty scratches over time?
My s4 never got scratshes and i didnt use protecotrs. So a glass back would be a neat feature.

Yes, that will happen.

That's why many people (including me) replaced their back cover with the one made of glass from the Japanese Z1f:

Hey guys,
has anyone experienced an "oily" Effect on his display with the original film from oneplus on it. I don't mean fingerprints, my phone is completely clean but some area's just don't look like they are. Is this effect from the film or is my display broken?
I could rip the film off but then I have to get an new one :/
Thank you in advance

Just pull the film off and run your screen naked. It feels great.

I had a HTC One m7 before and after using it 3 years it had so many tiny scratches.
I don't want this to happen with my op3, too.. I always wear them in my pocket, never with a key or anything in it, but the film already has some of those tiny scratches.

Can you recommend one? I only hear people complain about the ones out there on the marked.
Hey dude, IV tried 5 different tempered glass protectors and found the nilkin + to be the best. It doesn't cover full screen and the sides don't stick entirely but it's not even a big deal and it's the best you'll get for this phone at the moment

Currently have it naked, keys and knives don't scratch the screen, be careful when you clean it tho, don't use any spray just a micro fiber should be enough. Plastic screen protectors catch a lot of smudges and scratches really easily. Naked or Tempered glass is currently the only option.
Anyone else have like stuff inside there earpiece on there note 10 plus? you might need a small light to see it since the gap is very small.
i've attached an image. It's a bit worrying if its dust, I've only had this note 10+ for 5 days!
Looks like excess glue from the screen protector.

Well, thanks to your post I discovered a thin band of protective plastic on both metal edges of the phone that I had no idea of since I've gotten the phone one month ago. Peeled it off, otherwise the edges are perfectly sealed and smooth. Hope that's the culprit: the plastic film on your phone is coming off and attracts dust etc... by static forces.

No, not the screen protector, I discarded the screen protector long time ago. Look at the metal frame, top and bottom has barely visible film sticking to it and you can remove it with the tip of your fingernail - that's what am talking about.

Of course I have to ask where you purchased the screen protector?

Nice protector, is that amFilm or whitestone?
Are you sure that's not dust, have you tried bushing it out? I just brushed mine with a small brush I had this morning seems to clean it out just fine.
Anyone finds that the metal frame is very easy to scratch from removing or putting on the case ?
any solution to remove these scratches
Well tbh I don't use any case and don't have scratches.

my mate had this issue when he took out the case to put in a screen protector. he used turtle wax (yup, the one used for waxing your car). he dipped a little on an earbud and started rubbing on the scratch. seemed to work.
It was more an issue with the Z Fold 2 and 3 in my opinion. The frame around ebe screen and back glass was wider, and as much as I love and prefer the matte finish, it seemed to scratch easier.
I have that same issue. My official Samsung pen case scratched the hell out of the corners of my frame to the point I just don't use it anymore.
