Hello,
I bought an off brand glass screen protector for my ONE and received and applied today. It's better than I imagined it would be. And way cheaper than the spigen or seidio. Watch the unboxing here

And what it looks like after being applied.

I'm about to order one. How did you go about applying it?
Let us know how it goes after a weeks worth of experience with it! I'm interested in purchasing one myself!!!
Also, what is the thickness that you picked?

Very carefully. Lol. I lined up the bottom edge with where the metal and glass meet. Its easier than explained. I did mess up the first time, it was crooked. I used tape to pull up the screen protector then lined it up again. The instruction says to push down on the center. I didn't have to it automatically started to suck itself onto the phone screen. Definitely an interesting thing to watch. It stopped before it was completely adhered. So I did have to put pressure on the edge. The are tiny micro bubbles that are seen immediately after adhesion, but they dissipate after some time. however my corners seem to not be adhered correctly. I left it over night with an iPad on top to add weight hoping it would flatten out. No such luck. I'm wondering what else i can try...

I will. It's 0.4 mm thickness. I can tell you this the oleophobic coating is worth it. Plastic screen protectors are always greasy and you can't seen to wipe it off enough. These don't have that problem. I'll keep you updated though.

I have one of these, from the same supplier arriving this week. Do you use a case on your phone? Interested to know if this interferes with the fit of it if you do.
Interesting to hear your account of fitting this. I thinks i will securely tape a carefully aligned straight edge steel ruler to the phone and use that as a bump stop type tool to try and get it on first go.

You reffered to the SGP model of the glass screen protector, due to the packaging.
My question, how sharp are the edges of this screen protector with swiping the toolbar down for example, since SGP released a rounded version of the protector to get the sharp edges of.

I'm using this protector (same Chinese) knockoff I bought on amazon. With a super sweet case/bumper also purchased on amazon.. the glass is slightly narrower than the stock screen. I have no issues with the glass and the case.

They aren't sharp like a piece of glass in a picture frame. It's somewhat beveled but not rounded off and super smooth. Well worth the money for me.

ah, okay dope, thanks man. May order soon tho!! But I'm still waiting for some stuff for my phone so after that I'll see if you got any updates on the screen!
Got the same screen protector from the same supplier as the OP today.
Very easy to install. No bubbles
Nice rounded edges, and as it is lightly smaller than the screen, my case fits well.
Texture very slick. Once on and in the case you wouldn't actually know it has a screen protector on apart from the small rise next to each speaker which you would take as part of the phone if you weren't familiar with the HTC One..
I will never go back to plastic SPs. This is legit! Even though an edge didn't completely adhere this thing rocks.

I've tried 6 screen protectors and finally found one without any issues. #5 was a zizo and it fit but had a stupid rainbow and the top corner randomly broke in my pocket after a month.
I bought this one on ebay. It covers the whole screen, fits perfectly, has a curved screen, no rainbow, air bubbles, and doesn't lift up at the ends. I'm finally happy with my screen protector

I thought someone tried this on the main thread for screen protectors and said it was just another Zizo. I really don't care about the rainbow. I just hate the smudges

Sorry, the only way I have to take pictures is with the phone itself in a mirror (not terribly useful) or with the web cam on my new laptop which of course is of an awful quality. Here is the best I could get...
Would be nice if you use a friend's phone and take some pictures of the screen protector installed. I'm not being rude and appreciate your attempts at photographing it, but honestly they're pointless as they show us nothing

For $7 I'm going to give it a shot. Same price on Amazon for Supershieldz and 2 day delivery. Will update when installed
UPDATE: My Supershieldz TGP arrived and before heading out of town on business I installed and can confirm NO HALO. This is not just a Zizo close. Been using it for a couple of days now and while there is still smudging it's not as bad as the Zizo. I'll try to post some photos using my 6p when I get home

U can't see anything in those pictures.
I've ordered a zizo and a couple of the others that look the same and I'm done. All the ones I get smudge like crazy and have the rainbow effect.
I'm just gonna wait until there's a definite consensus on one that doesn't have those issues.
I'm currently using an Armor shield wet protector and it's pretty good for plastic. Better than the glass protectors as far clarity/smudge resistance but the glass is obviously better as far as feel goes.
Anybody knows a good matte/Anti-Glare screen protecror that covers the whole screen?
I pried my wife's iphone 7 plus out of her hands long enough to take these.
Is there adhesive on the clear part of the glass? Not just on the black trim. That's the cause of the oil spill under the screen. No adhesive to hold it tight to the phone like the clear tempered shields.

Anyone else with a couple of tiny air bubbles or imperfections in the application of the factory screen protector out of the box? I have 2 but they are tiny and only show in certain lights and angles. They are like little dots.
But it does make me worry if Samsung can't apply it perfectly , what chance do I have when I need to replace it?!
Nope me and my wife both have the phone. No bubbles. Was hard to even see the protector at first.
Same I didn't even notice it was there until I peeled of the first layer protector then I could see the real protector underneath

I left whatever was on there in the box. Fingerprint seems slow but other than that it is good. Are there 2 layers on top?
After a day or two, I had about 3 bubbles show. Not tiny too. I pressed all of them with my fingers. Even rubbed the really tiny one with my nail. That seemed to work
3 note 10 pluses unlocked . only one protector on top.. not two. ive removed the protectors ....
I had a small bump that I tried to scratch off and it is now a small pin hole. Drives me crazy, even though it's hard to see. I chatted with Samsung and they said to take the phone to the Samsung Experience store at Best Buy and they would replace the screen protector. Turned out to be bad information as Best Buy has no replacement parts. I called back and was told it is a warranty item, but Samsung has no replacement screen protectors!!..No time line known to have them.. Also, told I could not remove the existing screen protector as I could damage the screen and it would void warranty.. Not impressed with their lousy customer service!

I am not sure, but the protector preinstalled may be just as the back one, just a packing protective measure

That looks like it was marred. Been there, done that.
The factory screen protector is pretty good; leave it on as long as you can. It really can save your screen... I inadvertently tested it in a nasty drop onto a rough metal edge from 2 feet. No glass damage at all.
These phones love to faceplant...
Gorilla IQ Sheild is the only 3rd party protector I would recommend. Self healing, very scratch resistant and a fairly easy wet apply. No bubbles and the tactile feel is acceptable.
Pay close attention to installation. Since it's a wet apply, placement is easy just allow at least 10 hours drying time. If it lifts on the curve even after a month take a little bit water, wet and reapply that portion before dirt gets under it. Make sure it's sticking on the curve surfaces on install; simply press it down an extra time or two in the first few minutes.
Works with any case.
Got 3 months on this one and still looks great. Two to a box.
Just received my case from AliExpress.
Very thin and first impressions are favourable although I'm tempted to put a thin clear film over the joint between the case and mini screen in the corner in case the edge flexes and scratches the screen.
Construction is a very thin hardshell rear with a plastic flip and a smoked translucent corner on the front.
Clearance for the cameras on the rear is minimal.
There's a small square magnet visible on the flip below the widow for the hall sensor to let out acts as a smart cover.
Using miui12 always on screen and smart case options gives a small clock and battery indicator in the window.
Can see the height difference between the Xiaomi smart cover and the leather case I had before.
The orange is muted and the Matt dark grey of the phone holder contrasts nicely.
Hopefully the mi10 won't get as warm with this case as it did with the leather one!

That might not have translated well
The screen turns off when you close the case and turns on when you open it.
I highly suggest not using this case! it leaves a mark on your display exactly where the glass plastic part begins. because it is not perfectly flush with the leather part.
I used mine for about a week and have a permanent scratch on the display the entire length of the plastic window.

nope mine did not come with a protector! which is odd cause everyone got theirs with a protector already applied. At the time I assumed this product would protect the display until my glass gets here but... it did the opposite -_-
I don't use this case even now that i have the glass on my phone because it limits the ways I can use it.
It looks dumb when taking photos because the thing just flaps in the air also cannot use my gimbal or my bike mount. all in all not my best purchase

Be my guest and try for yourself. I don't know the technical term but the screen has some sort of coating as it's top most layer and the case made a permanent mark on the glass if you clean it perfectly it's not visible. But as soon as you touch the display that part will get dirty almost instantly. Another example, if i use an alcohol wipe the outline of the window on the display retains moisture and the rest does not. So call it what you want but this case damages your display.
my solution was to clean the display perfectly and put a "Hydrogel" (marketing BS for plastic foil) on top. I totally forgot about it until you quoted my post
Oh you mean the oleo phobic coating. Been there already because i was so "smart" and had washed my first smartphone display with dishwashing soap and was wondering why it was getting dirty even after cleaning.
Later I found a solution:
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+to+Restore+or+Apply+an+Oleophobic+Coating/9682
Have at least 5-6 of them.
Have a tempered glass UV cover on the way which eliminates them.

It really is a good quality protector in combination with a good bumper case.
My S20u had minimal scratches in 8/9 months use, S21u had zero scratches in 6 months use and my Fold 3 is the same so I am good with it.
It also doesn't peel it self off overtime is my experience.
Huawei Mate 20 pro that I had was not as good that Samsung had and Xiami/Poco is horrible piece of junk and worth trowing in the trash

It's very difficult to see or feel, but it's there. Samsung had been factory installing screen protectors on a few models like the Note 10, but then for the Note 20 Ultra, they didn't. At least not in the US. I think the international models still had screen protectors. I can't remember if the Z Fold 2 had one on the outer screen.
Its just a protector tho.
Happen with my note 10+
You can easily swap it out for another or a glass one.
Ill keep mine on until this one looks like crap.
There is zero need for the outside or inside protector unless you use the s pen a ton. Insanity to keep them on. The experience is so much better without them and I had zero problems with the fold 2 taking them off.

I've taken the screen protector off the inside screen of the ZF2 several times when replacing it. Matter of fact, just did it today. I can feel absolutely no difference between the bare screen on the ZF2 and the screen protector on the ZF3. They're both plastic no matter what Samsung calls it. So me PERSONALLY I won't risk scratching or damaging the display when I can't tell the difference in feel anyway. Plus I love the SPen, so I'll use it a lot.

the fingerprints and the screen not being as bright are immediately noticeable to me coming from no screen protector to a screen protector on the fold 3. night and day, as is the non glass feel. i've never used the fold with a screen protector as I bought my fold 2 used with it already removed, had that not been the case perhaps I would have been able to live with it.
with that being said - you don't have to baby this phone with kid gloves. hell, you are probably going to trade it in next year and get the fold 4. so if you don't use the S pen don't be afraid by those warning to take the protector off. that's my main point.

I still have the international Note 20 Ultra and yes, they come with screen protector from Samsung installed from the factory. The Fold 2 came with outer screen protector. The inner screen one was piece of crap, it scratched so bad pretty much first week. Then after 8 months my foldable screen cracked in the middle by itself. Samsung replaced it under warranty and it came with totally different screen protector, which I am using until today and I don't have any scratch on it at all !! The screen does not feel like rubber at all. I am very happy with the second screen protector that Samsung installed on new screen. BTW, I counted roughly how many times I unfolded the phone before the middle part cracked and I came to number 1 125 folds and unfolds. And that is probably little bit on the high side because I owned the phone for 225 days when it happened and I figured 5 openings per day. But I use mostly the outside cover screen, the inside screen I used only for multimedia. I have no problem using the cover screen for 95% of things I do on the phone.

Just leave it on as long as it's usable. Finding a better replacement may be difficult.
It's actually very tough... I inadvertently tested my 10+'s on the second day by dropping it on a rough edged aluminum angle from 2 feet high. It landed on the curve part of the screen and the case. Marred the protector badly but not the display at all *gulp*.
On the 10+ this is the one Samsung failing that irritated me the most, no factory OEM screen protector replacements. Even there were it be impossible to install.
Whitestone send the wrong protector in the right box... malakas.
Wet apply screen protectors were the easiest to apply and have proved very durable. Gorilla IQ Sheild is what I settled with after 2 fails with self adhering ones.
Close to 2 years and zero damage.

Is there any difference? Not that I mind the inner screen, but it does feel plasticky.

its like night and day when you take it off IMO. like scrolling with glass compared to plastic and the screen protector gets tons of fingerprints. i honestly have no idea how anyone uses this phone with an inner screen protector. unless you are going to be a heavy S pen user I see no reason not to take it off.

Well i usually feel that way with a real glass screen. I do worry about the plastic screen on the inner screen getting scratched. Im torn whether or not I should take it off.
