You are S-Off, correct? Because you need to be.
All that is necessary is for you to change your CID. SuperCID is easiest. You can install any M8 firmware that way.
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot oem writecid 11111111 (eight ones)
fastboot reboot-bootloader and you are done.
After that you can flash Indian firmware.

CID: None

hi guys
i tried the "fastboot getvar cid" to check the CID on my one X, and it returned that the there is no CID code stored (cid: None)
is this normal ? when there is an update from HTC, how will they know which firmware to push to my mobile ?
Thanks
Did you unlock through htcdev? I believe this removes your CID

I have not unlocked it yet. It is still untouched with the original firmware that came with it
Known issue. I think you can read cid by adb shell getprop ro.cid

If you don't mind, what was the CID value?
Did you buy your phone from Dubai? Where & how much?
I got it from Gridzdirect for AED 2499/- but my CID is HTC__044, which is for hTC Asia WWE.
When previuosly got my Sensation, the CID was HTC_J15.

How much?
What is the impact of having a CID : None? From what i read, by unlocking the phone using HTCDev.com will remove the CID, then how else would anyone still have the CID?
my stock unlock one with cid:none too
from singtel
with adb shell I have O2__001.
What kind of rom can I install?
For example, can I install this one:
'RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.7_Radio _1.1204.104.14_release_259281_signed'
I rooted the phone and installed CWM.
The original software on the phone is: 1.26.206.2
Radio is 1.1204.90.13
Language dutch
Thanks in advance

It looks like you have an O2 branded device. If your device is locked to your operator, you will have to wait for an update from O2.

You can flash a European ruu any time. Even without unlocking, because european ruu's already have cid htc__15 in them.
But note that if u flash a newer (higher version) european ruu then u wont be able to go back. Also, u wont get ota updates automatically.

With the sensation and evo 3d, that was the case.
For the One X, you never know.
Actually, for the evo 3d, s-off was not required. I was able to change cid with htcdev unlock only.

Lollipop RUU Error 130

Hello,
I have the unlocked version of the M8 (I believe...) It's a European model and is unlocked to all carriers.
My CID is HTC_001 but when I go to install the RUU that was released not long ago I get the Error 130 returned.
Is this just me being stupid due to lack of sleep?
Try following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development/progress-fuu-m8-t2813792
You may need to s-off to get the superCID. I would highly recommend to do so.

Error 130 is wrong MID.
You're trying to flash the wrong RUU. Which one are you trying to install? You need an RUU that is 401.

My Meid is 0000000000 and I am trying to install the latest one they released on the HTC website.
Cid HTC__001 is WWE *.**401.* so you need a wwe 401 ruu. If you do not have s-off you cant flash any other ruu files !

[Q] Can't turn on Wifi after flashing Stock rom

Hi,
I have bought a brand new HTC ONE M8 AT&T, i wanted to remove ATT branding, so unlocked bootloader, did the s-off using sunshine and installed the stock rom 4.4.4 3.28.401.9_odexed
Now i'm no more able to turn on Wifi, it's greyed out
Could you please help on this
PS : I'm not US based
Change MID/CID to International WWE.
CID: fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
MID: [how to] change your MID without an eng bootloader Select HTC Europe MID.
AT&T MID = 0P6B12000(Same as Developer Edition) , WWE International MID = 0P6B10000.
If you want to convert your device to another you must make sure to have all the things checked and sorted, just restoring a x.xx.401.x won't "convert" it, it just makes it a "custom ROM". AT&T is slow in their updates so your firmware is probably also outdated like hell.

Try flashing the firmware again and restoring a backup for the device.
Or run the RUU: HTC One M8 European Signed RUU 0P6BIMG.zip

help me choosing the right RUU file for my HTC one M9

hello friends... currently i have a htc one m9 which i bought from another person. currently i m using viperone m9 4.3.0 marshmallow rom. current CID = 1111111 and MID=OPJA12000, i got this information from download-mode. ..( Baseband version =01.01_U11440792 ,and build number =3.35.401.12) . Unlocked+ S-OFF status. now , i m wanting to get back to full stock marshmallow.. so . i got "0PJAIMG_HIMA_UL_M60_SENSE70_TMUS_MR_TMOUS_3.39.531.41.zip" for my device to flash it through manualy from download mode..is it ok for my device model? and ,can i fully unlock the bootloader and install TWRP on that version? thanks in advance ...
No. You must find one that matches the 401 sku. Find the firmware ruu 3.35.401.12 as a zip file (not exe).
You also need to change the cid before you flash to htc_001. The mid might need to be changed too but I can't remember what it is.. Too stoned.. '0PJA10000'..?
Do not s-on. Do not lock/relock the bootloader.
Once stock you can take the ota updates to nougat and reroot etc..
