Anyone else experince issues like very slow browsing, loading pictures, buffering videos all the time on wifi even if signal is full on z5?
My z5 had this issue month and a half ago and also the bluetooth connection. I send in for service and they changed the motherboard screen, side frame as well.. I have almost new phone now

I went through the arduous process of learning how to root the Z5P trying to solve this issue, hoping some of the aftermarket ROMs would solve the issues. None of the ROMs I tried were particularly stable so I reverted to 32.2.A.0.305. The 305 firmware actually restored my speeds back to how they were when I first got the phone.
I would try doing a clean install of the latest stock firmware and see if that clears up your issue.

Hello,
I've searched around the Epic 4G Touch forums as best I could, but sadly I couldn't find anything that was exactly this problem (although I found some interesting articles about wifi sleep time but they don't seem to apply). I'm experiencing an annoying issue where I can connect Wifi just fine, but if the phone is left for a small period of time (~10 minutes), wifi appears as if it's still connected, however it cannot send/receive data. When this happens, the wifi status says it's "connected", but there is no data connection. The only way to to get the data back is to turn off wifi, wait for 3/4G connection to initialize, then turn Wifi back on to refresh it...then it's fine again until I set the phone down again.
I had this problem on stock EL29, so I rooted and flashed Phantom Blazer ROM (very cool ROM, but I'm still experiencing the same issue). After reading the threads on here about wifi sleep times (apparently they're backwards with ICS roms), I've experimented with every setting, yet I still have the same issue--Wifi is fine as long as I'm using the phone, I set it down, after about 10 minutes pick it back up, says it's still connected, but no data connection.
has anybody experienced this problem with this phone? I'm about to unroot my phone/go back to factory so I can take it in to a Sprint store, the problem is they (trying not to be offensive) don't seem to know very much about this device. I thought I'd ask the pros before I return it, get an iPhone, and have to eat my words about how cool Android is vs. iPhone in front of all my friends. I'm hoping there's a reliable ROM or app that can resolve this vs. having to just replace the device!
Thanks for your help!
I'm not the only one
I'm not the only one with this problem:
edit: I can't post links to androidforums.com or anywhere else, but this same problem is all over the interwebs and nobody has a solution.
I'm sure it's not my router as my ASUS tablet/laptops/girlfriend's iPhone experiences no connectivity problems. I'm thinking this is a hardware problem with some of these devices. I will unroot/reset to factory tonight and let you know what happens.
What channel is your router on? And what type is it A/B/G/N?
This is s known TW ICS bug, most likely kernel related. Almost everyone is having this issue and there is no fix until Samsung decides to repair it. There are quite a few posts similar to this one. If you're using XDA's search function, it's not very good. Try using Google next time and search XDA that way.

Hey guys, thanks for the response. Just before I unrooted/reset to factory I tried one last solution--download an app called "Wifi Fixer". It has resolved a lot of these problems. It's not 100%, but after testing it for a day so far, I've only had to manually refresh the connection once or twice. It's a lot better, even liveable, and I won't be resetting to factory afterall, at least not until Samsung provides an update. So if anyone is having the same problem, try Wifi Fixer, hopefully it gives you a similar level of success...I'm not super happy about having to run another background process all the time, but it doesn't seem to affect battery, and the fix it provides is worth it to me.
Cheers!
Huh - a couple of things. Noticed this problem crept back in FF18 and didn't know why until I went back and checked the wpa_supplicant.conf that I'm using. The line ap_scan=2 was missing; after adding it back in the signal strength is back to full and stable.
I'll bump the thread but it appears the config changes here still hold after all:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569348
This should also avoid having the WiFi fixer there as you can specify the country in wpa_supplicant.conf manually.
Thanks for looking in to this! A couple questions from a noob like me though:
When you say the problem crept back in FF18 ... what does that mean? Is that something that exists in the "stock" version of the Epic 4G touch from Sprint?
The manual config file tweaks you're describing ... is that something I can perform myself?
Basically I'm wondering if it's "safe" to revert to stock in order to get consistent wifi signal, or if it's something I'm experiencing because of the ROM I'm using.
Thanks!
So I have a rather strange problem, and have found no help in other threads, so I'll start on here. I have the white G3 on T-mo (obviously) and have been trying to upgrade it to LP. I have tried both Autoprime's stock ROM as well as the stock ROM posted today extracted from the KDZ. Both were flashed through TWRP and have the exact same problem. Any time the wifi gets shut off for any reason, whether to send an MMS or because I leave the house, when it turns back on, it will not route to the internet. I can access anything on the local network, but somehow the route to the modem and the world at large is just gone, and will not come back with anything short of a reboot. I have also noticed that after a few hours of relative stability, the wifi will just randomly stop working. One other aside that may or may not be related, people have been complaining of text messages being sent 10 to 15 times when using the wifi calling since upgrading. Honestly, I'm pretty tech savvy and have followed all the flashing instructions, but am at a complete loss here. I am sure the problem is with my phone, since the identical symptoms have occurred with 2 ROMs now, both were clean flashes. Does anyone have any insight to this issue at all?
My girl has this same issue on her G3 but hers was updated through the OTA. Its running stock ROM, rooted & stock recovery and after updating to lollipop, she's having WiFi issues and battery issues and other stuff like freezing & stuff.

So, obviously there is no idea among the community regarding what is causing these wifi issues. However, T-Mo has pulled the 20b update for unannounced reasons, but stating that they seek to provide the best software experience. There are obviously multiple issues with the update, from battery to wifi calling, etc. I'm just going to assume that the wifi issues I am experiencing are part of the issues that got the update pulled. Short version: if you are wanting to use wifi calling and keep the phone as stock as possible, stay on KK for a while.
Hopefully someone here can advise me on this issue I have been getting with my Nexus 5x and using chrome but issue also happens in youtube. Note I have not setup my phone with a SIM yet, just been testing out the phone features and Android 6.0
When connected to my home networtk chrome and youtube work fine but every now and then the web page loading seems to stall in chrome, and then i watch the wifi signal disconnect and then reconnect and then the web page will load, but before it does i get the error message
dns_probe_finished_no_internet and sometimes its ERR name not resolved or ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED or similar inside chrome.
it seems to recover after about 30secs and then i have full wifi again. it just keeps happening This seems to be random at the moment but is consistent. My home network is pretty solid and all my other devices work fine and do not exhibit this issue, my wifi is solid.
I have done all the usual forget network, wipe system cache and static IP etc. nothing makes a difference. can anyone shed some light what might be causing this?
thanks
Did you manage to solve the problem? I got my phone last week and I am having the exact same problem.
I should mention that I am on stock unrooted and using At&t network. I checked the wifi connection from my older phone lg optimus g and it seems to be fine. It keeps on disconnecting and reconnecting on my 5x though and I think that is draining the battery faster than anything else. My top two battery uses are android system and android os rather than sceeen.
Do you think it is a hardware problem?

Have the same problem with mine after one week's use. Was fine until this morning.
On hold with warranty service now and will be getting a replacement.
Don't wait, use the warranty.

My problem was more global than just while using Chrome. Don't know if that matters....

Any luck getting rid of the problem? I even factory reset my phone but the problem is still there. My problem is also global, not just in chrome. I think that there is a problem with the wifi of the phone. I do not want to root and install a new kernel as of yet. Just want to stay on the stock rom.
What did the warranty service say? Is this a common problem with the 5x? I would rather not RMA if the problem can be solved by some other means. I put on the screen protector so well. Don't want to do it all over again lol.
Also, is Android OS on the top of the list in battery drain? It is for me and I think the wifi connecting and disconnecting prevents the phone from sleeping.

Tried everything, reset network connections and then tried a complete reset and attempted new setup but the wifi was too flaky to complete the setup. Since the problem happened while I was using the phone I was not able to observe the effect on battery life. I would imagine it would take a big hit trying to connect and failing continuously.
Did this before calling Google so I wouldn't have to do this while on the phone. Warranty Service did not mention any ongoing problem with the wifi.
Am setting up the replacement currently. I'll save rooting, etc. until I've used the phone for a good while.
Bite the bullet and send it back. It's not going to heal itself.

Hi guys,
Just updated to 6.0.1 OTA and yes the problem remains and seems even worse now. Can I ask how you go about the warranty? Is there a number to call google directly?

oops sorry I should have said im in the UK, dont worry il find it. Can I ask is your replacement phone working correctly now, no wifi drop outs as before? if so what version of marshmallow are you on?
I've only been using it about 8 hours but no problems so far. The phone updated to 6.0.1 during the initial setup.
You can find the phone # for the UK by using a 'Contact Us' link in the Devices Store on Google Play.
ok so I seem to have fixed this issue been having and it turns out the phone itself is fine. The issue was with 2.4Ghz wifi networks. There are quite a few in my local area and there is probably a lot of cross talk on channels. So i setup a 5GHz network and my n5x seems rock solid since ive connected to that. no one single drop out all day! speeds are also much faster im getting 150MB download speed on wifi lol...
i changed nothing else on my phone just for the record. hope this maybe also helps someone else

I think I have an issue with the college wifi as well. I asked my friends who are using the same wifi network and their phones also do not seem to remain connected. I thought that it was an issue with my phone but I guess it is not.
To test that, I connected my phone to my college wifi all night and when I woke up in the morning, more than 20% battery had been used probably because of disconnecting and reconnecting continuously. The next night, I connected to some other wifi and there was less than 3 or 4% drop in battery overnight.
I hope they upgrade the college wifi as the battery drain is very annoying.

Sounds like your WiFi is broken. Does your camera auto focus quickly, slowly or broken?
Download this app, run it, scroll to firmware tab and compare your bootloader to PDA version (last 3 characters).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo
Unless you're running a ported ROM, the last 3 should match to indicate you have the right match. If you mismatch, you may lose some compatibility. Like if your mismatched across Android OS versions, your WiFi won't work and your camera focus will be slow or broken.

Hey so I've been having this issue with my Galaxy A50 where the wifi would keep hiccuping in a constant pattern, this is very noticeable when I try to stream games using either Steam Link or Moonlight, the wifi would cut for like a split second each 5 ish seconds. I did however find a workaround, and that it so enable and disable airplane mode, it would completely fix the hiccups.
So today, I regretted updating my phone so much (7th of July update), because now, the hiccups are back and they are more constant than ever. The trick I'd use to make the wifi stable no longer works, I need to keep airplane mode enabled at all times to avoid these hiccups.
I would like one of either solutions: can I fix this issue once and for all, because it's supper annoying, I tried removing my sim cards and all but the issue persists, if there is no fix for this, then I'd like to revert to the previous version I had, I have already downloaded the files from Sammobile, but I'm worried that it would brick my phone or even refuse to install period, here's the ROM that I'd like to install:
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-a50/firmware/SM-A505FN/SER/download/A505FNPUS5BTF1/347209/
I've explained this issue a bit better on the steam forums, so I'm gonna copy what I typed there;
Thank you very much in advance.
Okay so, recently I got a brand new Galaxy A50 phone, and whenever I'd try to stream games (over local network using WiFi) I'd get frequent and consistent hiccups that last about a split second each 3 seconds ~, I suspected that the issue could be from my phone being faulty or whatever, but I tried my brother's phone which is the same as mine, but the issue persisted.
On very rare occasions, the hiccups would not occur and the stream would be absolutely perfect, so I know for sure it might not be a hardware issue and that a stutter free experience is possible for sure, however I have no clue how to keep it consistent.
Mind you I have tried many other devices, my old Galaxy S5 and S6, even tried a Huawei phone and an Oppo phone and they all seem to work just fine, I even tried different streaming services like Parsec, TeamViewer, Moonlight etc... So the issue is certainly not my network as it is working just fine with other devices.
The A50 is a pretty popular mid-range phone so I'd expect at least someone to use Steam link (or similar apps) on it and experience this problem, yet I haven't found a single post about this issue online, the only thread that pops up is another one of mine related to this issue (on Reddit).
Can anybody help me come up with a solution? I tried quite literally everything I can, including updating my OS and all of my apps.
Thank you in advance
