I have tried flashing cyanogen on my nexus 5x and it soft bricked. I then tried flashing Android 7.0 and it worked. I thought maybe that trying to go from 7.0 to cyanogen which uses 6.0.1 would cause the issue so I tried flashing android 6.0.1 and it soft bricked aswell. I am OEM unlocked and rooted.
Thanks in advance.

You need to flash the right vendor.img ... Try the latest for android 6 and maybe radio and that stuff ... Or just download the latest 6.0.1 factory image from google and flash it (google the instructions)
Ater that unlock bootloader again flash twrp and than a 6.0.x rom

I soft bricked my M8 a while back, and I'm stuck on Paranoid Android 4.5. I'd like to get on lollipop, but I don't know how to get lollipop without getting onto my stock firmware backup which got deleted when I soft bricked it. I've tried sunshine, but it says it needs a near stock sense rom, which I tried and it didn't work.
Got any ideas?

Download some stock based sense rom like Skydragon(some guys did s-off with skyadragon rom) and give it a try. Backup first so you do not get into some bad situation :good:

There are three ways to update your firmware to Lollipop.
1: Go to this thread for a stock ROM backup and stock recovery, and update via the OTAs offered by your carrier.
2: Backup your data with TWRP and save it to extSD, run the appropriate RUU for your device, re-flash TWRP and restore data.
3: Flash the MaximusHD ROM (use the version that matches your current firmware, not the newest) and use Sunshine to achieve S-Off, then flash a modified Lollipop firmware package. (The best option IMO) Current and previous versions of MaximusHD can be found here.

and install 4.28.502.2 RUU
Relock bootloader before you run the RUU
hi guys - so i tried to install the revolution rom on my recently unlocked m9 and it'd only boot to the bootloader or download.
i found some threads back from 2012 that said twrp wouldn't install the rev rom, but suspect it's out of date - it seemed to work fine.
is there some magic here? i tried to flash my firmware to the version matching the rom (3.35.401.12) and got a code 10 failure in adb. my current firmware is 3.10.605.7. doesn't flashing the rom update the firmware too? or do i need to successfully flash the rom prior?
should i use a different recovery? twrp launched the rev aroma installer and all seemed to go perfectly smoothly... no problems came up until reboot brought me right back to bootloader.
the aroma install says it might boot loop a couple times, but i booted to bootloader 5+ times before giving up and going back to a deodexed stock vzw rom.
any help is greatly appreciated - i'm hoping to get up to marshmallow before calling it good enough and moving on.
Flashing the rom doesnt update the firmware. S-on makes sure of that.
You must be on the base firmware for the rom to take. You need the vzw marshmallow ota update before you can flash a marshmallow based rom.

Hello,
I have extreme problems with flashing STOCK marshmallow on this tablet. I bought it with rooted stock lollipop. Then I upgraded to Ressurectionremix nougat - worked like a charm.
Then I decided to upgrade to stock marshmallow. In bootloader i've got CSC code ROM. Sice im from slovakia i downloaded from sammobile firmware T805XXU1CPL1_T805OXX1CPK1_XSK and T805XXU1CPH5_T805OXX1CPI1_XSK and T805XXU1CPL1_T805OXX1CPK1_ROM. I tried flashing all 3 of them, but after flashing, only samsung logo flashes and sometimes it vibrates. Also it is hot to touch. Wich MM should I use. Or is there somewhere debloated zip ?
Thanks very much

As you've flashed a non stock rom you will have to factory reset before or after flashing the stock firmware.

Unfortunately many of the "how to" guides don't tell you that. Had the same problem on my SM-T700 and even a factory reset and wipe cache didn't solve the problem. I flashed TWRP and then it booted normally. Then I flashed stock recovery to get it back to completely stock.
Hi. I wanted to root out Tab S 10.5 (T800), may I know what are the steps. Been browsing onto various threads but to no avail. Im on Lollipop version btw. So first, I have to flash twrp via odin, right? Then after that? Do I have to flash MM bootloader or I just stick with pre installed bootloader before I can install a rom... Im looking at Lineage ROM. Will I get bootloop if I flash lineage on top of my lollipon bootloader? Thanks

Have you done it?
Cause I fail bootload with twrp..
I updated to Q by flashing via fastboot. I am not happy with it. I tried to downgrade by flashing a stock image via fastboot but I get an error saying the wrong BL is installed. It's asking for an older version.
How can I flash this older version? Or, better yet, how can I flash a stock image or custom ROM of Android Pie without encountering an error?
I've searched and everything I tried from what I found still results in the version error.
If I remember correctly, you'll need to flash using the flash-all script so that it overwrites everything.

You can only downgrade with an unlocked bootloader. Downgrading without can brick your p3xl. After unlocking you can flash the 9.0 firmware and you won't have any bootloader or partition errors it will just work.
