Hi
Are there any headphones / earphones which have a remote control for music control. There are loads of them for the iPhone, but any of them that is compatible with the SGS2?

I'm using "Headset Button Controller" to control a pair of iPhone headphones.
It only works with the center button, but it supports single/double/triple key presses. So it controls: start/stop, and advance to the next song, as well and answer/disconnect incoming calls.
If u r looking for bluetooth ones, just make sure they support AVRCP.
If u r looking for wired ones, most of those vol+/- buttons won't work, but yes, still are compatible.

Posted this on the other thread. Might be of interest to you:
I have a pair of Beats by Dre with Control Talk (for iphone/ipod) and the functionality is the same. The play/pause button works but the vol up/down buttons don't.
Also, I have a pair of Shure 215. They are more bass-prominent than "signature Shure" sound but they don't muffle mids and highs like the Beats do. Anyway, I found these from Earphonesolutions after I got a SGS2.
SHURE SE215A ANDROID & BLACKBERRY COMPATIBLE EARPHONES
(not letting me post a link due to my low post count)
The description says works with "most Android phones" so I guess they're not guaranteeing anything. Too bad I got a pair of those without the buttons before I got the phone. But I thought it might interest some people.
HTC headphone are working great (with all buttons). You can find them anywhere on the internet..
STIL...if i remember well, they are fully working with certain kernels.
Ițm using Nimphetaminețs kernels
I use the Zagg Smartbuds witch works great.
I have a set of the bose ear bud headphones that worked unbelievably on my HTC HD2's and the answer button worked too. with the sII, nothing buttons work and the volume is pretty low.
could an app fix that?
Hey, found this piece of gadgetry - Etynomic MC2. Looks promising, any ideas from anyone about how these are. Apparently they have an Android remote.

I've had the old school Etymotics back in the past, they were great sounding, especially in the high end and mids. However, Etymotics are known to skim on the low end, so if you are a bass thumper, I would avoid unless you can tune the EQ like in Poweramp.
Not sure about the remote working with Android, I've had good customer experience with them, so I think what is listed on their site is true. Though I would email them beforehand to make sure.
Sorry double posting
I am using SE MW600, it can skip to the previous or next track, play and pause, show you the song title, and also show you the phone no of the incoming or outgoing call. The sound quality is good. you should try it out.
I heard Klipsch S4i works well .. I dont have so I cant confirm just browse through the forum you will get it
Hey guys. I'm just wondering if its my headphones or the device. It seems when I'm using the remote on my headphones, the volume can only be increased, not decreased. Meaning I can only make it louder. Im using the stock Samsung headphones I got with the note 3. I haven't tried it on any other device but the remote was working on my note 3 prior. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this.
Yea same here. I was about to go buy new headphones. I'm using ones that came with my galaxy s3
Samsung headset works. In addition, HTC headset with track control works as volume control.
My lg Bluetooth head phones work great. Never went back to wired.

Thanks for trying, But It doesn't seem to be working...what a weird quirk.
Hey all,
Enjoying the Z5 premium so far but I have run into an issue that I haven't been able to find a fix for.
I have a pair of Bose QS25 headphones which come with a 3 button remote control (Android version). My volume up and down buttons work fine but when I click the middle button it raises the volume instead of play/pause/answer/hangup.
Anyone got any idea for how to fix this? I have tried different apps such as Sony Smart Key and Headset Button Controller.
Thanks in advance!
I'm interested on the Z play but i want to know if this phone is compatible with inline buttons (volume buttons and a central button)that can be found in some headphones , i hope that someone would help me with this

no problems with pausing or adjusting the volume with the inline buttons of your headphones??
You may want to have a look at Bluetooth headphones which implement AptX codec, they sound good. There it is sure the buttons work fine.
Disclaimer: I don't know and I don't care if the buttons are working properly using cable .

None, I have an old pair of Beats inline that I use with no issue.
Hi everyone,
I recently acquired this iphone headset, the mic and play/pause button are working correctly. However, the volumen buttons are not. I found this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69138210&postcount=4, but I don't now how can I edit the system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl file. I'm using lineage 14.1 and I have root access. Any help is appreciated.
This is a hardware issue not a software issue.
IPhone headphones are wired differently from Android headphone with volume buttons.
Remapping your system won't do anything.
I see... thanks for your reply, anyway. So if they are wired differently, dou you know if there is some kind of adapter to make this work? The headphones are good enough as they are, but still...
