Storage Usage Question - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to determine if I have a problem here, the storage usage of my Verizon Note 4 seems off. On PaulPizz CPF3, but I had the same issue on stock CPF3. The "Device Storage" shows 23 GB / 32 GB - I have currently one backup which is 7.4 GB, and the next largest is my download folder which has just under 1 GB. How much space should the rest of the files take? I see the system folder is 2.2 GB, my "DATA" folder is 14.5 GB - does this seem correct?

[Q] Note 8 Apps 2 sd

I have been having problems trying to bind my app storage to my 64 gb SD Card. I've used several apps and the
Script in one of the old topics. But none seem to work. One even says teh storage is ~58 gb but it still yells at me when the other storage is almost full.
Like it's still sending stuff to the ~10 gb of storage on stock even though it displays 58 is what it's using.
Any help guys?

max size of internal memory is too low 1.12 GB instead of 4 GB in Nokia XL?

hi, My smartphone model is Nokia XL Dual SIM, Software Version 1.2.3.2, Nokia X Software Platform 1.2. I am facing the issue that is maximum low internal memory is 1.12 gb only. But Before buying the product or before installing all android apps into my smartphone, I have 4 GB internal memory(maximum allowed size). But after installed apps, the size is 1.12 GB(maximum allowed size). I have cleared cache, junk files everything. All are fine. but it shows 1.12 GB (max allowed size). I am suffering to install new apps because minimum free space is 43 MB only. Where the remaining 2.7+ GB gone in the internal memory? Please help me to get back to previous allowed size 4 GB. What are the steps required to achieve it?
Thats just a delusion.
You never saw 4GB internal memory available on your phone.
By default, Nokia XL has 1.12 GB phone memory (internal sdcard, sdcard0) and 1.18 GB internal memory (/data partition). That gives you 2.3 GB.
The remaining 1.7 GB is inaccessible as it is used by the system.

LG G3 storage question

Hi all,
I have a question regarding a phone i own. I flashed cm13 on it and i see it shows only 11.xx GB. Is this normal ? The phone is 16gb
Thanks
I own a 32 gb model and storage wise i think i only have 24 available so much is reserved for system partition plus other partitions efs aboot ect so id about say its normal
I know but on my wifes Galaxy s5 it shows her internal space is 16gb and if i remember correctly my phone showed that as well on the stock lg firmware. See video what i mean. CM13 shows something else (picture first post)

Mine does that after a while what I usually to do is if there is nothing you need on internal storage is to boot into twrp wipe internal storage ,making sure you have your rom on ext card (don't want to wipe that do we) then flash my rom.
This leaves me from a clean install with about 8 or 9 gb left to use on internal storage.I think what happens over time is a lot of useless files tend to build up on internal card and this is the reason you don't have much space left and also the operating system takes up quite a bit as well.
just buy a 64gb micro sdcard... or even a 32gb if you don't need much more, they are really cheap.
part of the missing space is the partition information space and the space used by the system/recovery/cache etc. on android 6.0 you can format it as internal.
How can i format that space ? I am running CM13 that uses Android 6.0.1
Here another screenshot from the recovery, why does the recovery not say i have 16GB ???? i don't really understand why it's not listed.
Because it shows available storage not total
Oke thanks for the answer.

Huawei M2 8.0 storage problem

I recently bought a Huawei Mediapad M2 8.0. It came with lollipop 5.1 and I manually upgraded it to 6.0.1 by following a guide I found on xda. This morning, while downloading a pretty large file I got a notification telling me there's not enough storage space left. I've got almost no personal files on it, just apps.
Now here's the weird part:
Storage manager shows only ~700MB/10.5 GB left
After using the storage cleaner, the Advanced Storage manager shows ~9.8/10.5 GB left, while Storage manager still finds only 700 MB of free space.
I've looked everywhere and I can't find anything that takes up that much space.
What's wrong?

Click to collapse
Hmmm....that's weird. Did you try checking it after a reboot? Maybe the filesystem hasn't flushed the cleanup changes to the SD card (although it would be rare for this to happen, but anyway a reboot would solve it by sync'ing all mounted filesystems)...
