[Q] How to Debrand AT&T Lumia 950 - Windows 10 Mobile

I have a SIM-unlocked Lumia 950 branded by AT&T and a Lumia 950 XL (RM-1116) bought from China.
It's really frustrating that I found double-tap firmware finally came to Lumia 950 AT&T few days ago since it came earlier on Lumia 950 XL from China. Also, apps made by AT&T don't work in China, so I just want to debrand my Lumia 950 by flashing firmware from Mainland China or Hong Kong.
I referenced the tutorial of debrand Lumia 640 AT&T and pushed the similar cabs that downloaded from Windows Update Catalog by iutool, and my phone didn't accept them.
I don't know which FFU should I use in order to make my phone accept these cabs.
I'll attach the cabs I downloaded from WU Catalog.

[Q] Use Lumia 900 - Brazil

Hi guys,
I'm from Brazil and I want to buy a Lumia 900. Howevery, here in Brazil we dont have the 900, yet.
So, If i buy a Lumia 900 at USA, will it work here in Brazil? Do i need to unlock the mobile? Is it possible?
Thanks a lot
The AT&T ones arent unlockable (Yet). There are some folks claiming its a few days away. Some say AT&T told them Oct. of this year.
I wouldnt buy anything until you KNOW you can get it unlocked.
The rogers units in canada are unlockable buy calling rogers for the code.
I would suggest verifying the model you buy has the right radio equipment in it to work in your market/carrier before putting any money down.

12201 vs 12202?

Nerdy question - haven't found anyhwere else online yet..
On NCS, looks like some units in Brazil & Mexico are getting 2102.8779.12202 -
Nokia DO Brasil
Vivo Brasil
Telcel Mexico
My Lumia (Unlocked Hong Kong Smartone) is updated to 2101.8779.12201
Anyone know what the difference is?
Mine is with Rogers Canada, but I received my replacement Lumia 900 from Nokia's center here in Canada.
My firmware reads: 2175.2301.8779.12222
I have the flip to silence feature.

Makes sense; looks like you would have the RM-808; I have RM-823. Not too worried as my phone also has flip to silence - and the tethering works very well as well..

[Q] Lumia 900 or Lumia 620

Hi guys! I want to buy one of the lumia phones, but i dont know which is better. I know lumia 620 has WP8, but 900 is better in other things. So please help me choose one!
Sorry for my bad english skills
620 for sure, the Lumia 900 has WP 7.8, while the 620 has WP 8 and will keep getting updates and cool new features...
If you dare to use ATF Box to jailbreak Lumia 900, perhaps Lumia 900 is better than 620
i think i will stay with my android...

Should you buy a Windows phone in 2019?

No, Microsoft isn't building new features for Windows phone, so there's no reason to buy one in 2019. There are no new phones, and in the next year, Microsoft will abandon the platform altogether. If you must have one, however, we recommend the Alcatel Idol 4S, but you'd be much better off with a OnePlus 6T or iPhone XR.
Outdated and out of support: Alcatel Idol 4S ($127 at Amazon)
Super fast and customizable: OnePlus 6T (From $549 at Amazon)
Fluid and just works: iPhone XR (From $749 at Apple)
Most probably you are right.
We can't rely on MS or the developers to support WP any longer.
In case you are fine with a phone that can work for a while as it is (depending on certificates and app support for lower already installed versions) I guess hardware prices are becoming a steal soon.
Make sure you buy at least a phone that comes with Windows 10 pre-installed. I had to struggle with five phones to do an upgrade from WP8.1 to WP10, which was kind of a hell OTA. It started out that I could not log on to an existing microsoft account, neither could I create a new one from the phones in question. Had to do with a certificate issue, if I believe what I found.
So it was a two step approach needed. First each phone needs to be treated with the "Windows Device Recovery Tool" to have it reflashed.
After a restart, it was ready to go through the setup. Just skip where you can. No Wifi, no SIM, no account, just jump forward. When all is ready, the OTC Updater v8.2 needs to be executed.
The Update should start then...
.
To avoid getting stuck make sure your model is eligible for the update (Lumia phones only AFAIK). Here is the list I found on the web

Other phones require hacking tools. Search the forum for "windows phone offline update". Find instructions for the iutool here
If you want to do some hacking a good start would be here at Windows Phone Internals where you find tools to unlock and root WP for supported devices. Maybe you want to port native android if you are keen enough

I bought one in 2018
I got my first phone in 2018 when I was 18 years old and I chosed the Lumia 1020. Since then I'm using the Nokia Lumia 1020 as my primary phone. I wanted to experience Windows Phone, so I took this decission. With in the first week of my phone, I unlocked it's bootloader and installed Windows 10 Mobile. It did run windows 10 prety well. I felt those scarcity of apps, so this year I started practicing developing UWP apps using JavaScript and because of this, my javascript skills became good. So using this limited device is urging me and kinda motivating me to study technical things and being an I.T. student, it's surely gonna help me. Wanna see how far I have gone with js because of my Lumia? check this site out, which have almost 90% of codes in JavaScript .
Too late I got a 640 XL .
I just bought a new Idol 4s and I'm ok with it. Honnestly all the hype about Android and iOS race is just a bandwagon that sooner or later will fade
