I just purchased the Smartwatch 3. I like the watch but have a problem. Not all of the wear apps are loading on the watch. For instance, I've downloaded Ghostracer, Runtastic and Endomondo and while they appear on my phone; they do not appear on the watch. However, other apps I have downloaded are on there and I can install new watch faces. Oddly enough Spotify and Skype are on the watch and I didn't attempt to put them on my watch. It seems to be hit or miss.
I sent an email to the manufacturer of one of the apps and they said it may be due to Google Play Services not being the most recent. I am currently on version 9.4.52.
Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem at the beginning of my adventure with SW3.
Google Play Services is too old.
Try force-updating it on your phone (use this link) or else just wait a couple hours, it should update itself both on phone and on the watch. Anyway AFAIK Android Wear app shows an information when Google Play Services are out of date but I'm not sure.
Or try force-syncing the apps in the watch settings in Android Wear app.
Or, as I've already told, just wait a couple of hours and make sure you have your watch paired and connected to the phone during that time
Or if nothing happens, try unpairing the watch. It will reset to the factory settings (you won't lose any data connected with the watch from your phone except the watch that was paired), pair the watch again and wait for the setup to complete, it will sync all the necessary apps with the phone.

Thanks for replying. You were right. I tapped on the version and it updated like 4 times during the night. When I woke all of the apps were on the watch.

Hi all!
I do not recieve any Messages on my Huawei Watch (neither WhatsApp, nor SMS or Telegram) from my HTC One M7 (rooted). Calendar notifications and phone calls are working without any problems.
I realized that problem since i did a full wipe and reinstalled VipeOne 9.0 ROM.
This steps also did not help and i did a reset and new pairing multiple times without any success.
Could there be any settings which are set wrong?
How can i detect and solve this problem to get my notifications back?
Because i do not know if the problem is Android or Android Wear related or has something to do with the Huawei Watch or ViperOne ROM, i did a post in this Forum...
Thank you for helping in advance,
Florian
it could be related to this sort of thing http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-watch/general/bad-battery-life-read-factory-reset-t3474948
go to apkmirror.com and download the latest version of Google Play Services for your phone then double reboot phone and watch twice (could take a day for Google play services on watch AND phone to sync their versions)
since you wiped your rom I'd bet your version of Google Play Services is out of sync with what's on the watch (probably would fix itself after a week off trickling the updates)

Hi pablo71,
thank you for your answer.
I downloaded the newest Google Play Services apk from apkmirror.com, installed it and restartet Watch and Phone multiple times.
But after over 24h there is still the same problem...
What can i do? Reset the phone another time or sync Google Play Services manually or something else?

my apologies for late reply ... I don't know what could be done, but if your watch was rooted I'd say to install the app Advanced Settings, then open it ON THE WATCH and go to Apps > System > Google Play Services > CLEAR DATA ... THEN go to Android Wear on the phone and FORGET THE WATCH ... THEN Reboot the watch, open Advanced Settings on watch go to Bluetooth > check the Discovery Mode Box and RE-PAIR the watch with Android Wear .. when I have the problem 'that sounds like what you're describing' this procedure fixes it for me.
sorry you're having problems with your watch .. if it's because of data-cross-contamination between different versions of Google Play Services updates that is causing this then I hope Google takes some action and stops doing this ... non-functioning watches does NOT make people want to buy smartwatches

No Problem!
Today i unlocked my Watch and installed Advanced Settings. Then i deleted the data from Google Play Services and did a Reset and tried everything you described, but untill now no messages arrived on the watch... Could there be something else wrong or settings on my phone?
The Google Play Service Version on the phone and on the watch are nearly the same (10.0.84) but the number after the bracket are different (238-... on phone and 530-... on watch)...
Thank you, yes its very annoying having a Smartwatch which isn't recieving any messages ... hope it can be fixed, but because its only software related it should be viable.

wow that would drive me crazy .. all I can think of would be to try the earlier version of Android Wear on the phone you used to have ... apkmirror would have it .. wow good luck I hope it gets fixed
I tried to install an older version of Android Wear but it did not help.
So i don't know what to do anymore...
Solved!
I just got the solution for my problem!!
It was a very stupid mistake: Android Wear was not set as device administrator... There was even a notification on my Wear app,
but i didn't recognized it because normally there is a notification to activate locations and it looks exactly the same

How did you check to make sure that it was? I too am having a similar problem where my SMS notifications would sometimes take over 2 minutes to get to my watch.

Because all system related notifications arrived on my watch without any problems and all notifications of third party apps didn't, it could only be Phone related...
You have an other problem, because the SMS notification is system related.
Do you sync via cloud (wifi) or via Bluetooth?
Did you try to reset your watch or reinstall the wear app (and delete app data)?
^good to know!

I meant how did you check to see that Android Wear was set as device Admin? I looked in my device admin and did not see Android Wear in the list.
But I did do a reset of my watch and re-paired, and that seem to have fixed the notifications delayed.

Sorry it was not the device admin query, but the notification access query (Preferences -> Apps -> Settings -> something like "Special access" -> Notification access).
Good to hear, that your problem is also resolved!
Not resolved. Same problem. Notification would arrive much later than on phone, and even calls are now not going to my watch. I performed another watch factory reset again, but why am I having to keep doing this?
I have a Huawei watch with a Huawei Mate 9. I would expect both to work seamlessly together. I had no problems when my watch was synced with my Axon ZTE 7.
So this is what I believe is causing the problem. When the phone and watch gets out of range (walking away from my desk without my phone), for some reason the phone and watch does not ask to be paired. It looks as though they are both still connected. With my Axon 7, whenever both got out of range and wanted to connect again, I would get a notification asking if I wanted to pair the watch with my phone. I would then accept. In this case, with the Mate 9, I do not get that pairing notification and I believe that is why i do not get notifications to my watch after it has lost its connection. I had to manually unpair the watch from my phone, then pair it up again.
Any insights?

I do also have a Huawei Mate 9 and i dont have any problems... I did never get a re-pair notification (on my HTC One M7 also). It re-paired automatically when i was in range!

And your notifications come to your watch the same time it comes to your phone? Just to clarify, mine does automatically re-pair when it gets in range again, but I was thinking that maybe somehow it doesn't fully re-pair, which was the cause of my delayed/missed notifications? So I wanted to manually re-pair to make sure it did.
Still trying to figure out when my notifications sometime shows up, and sometime does not. Baffled.
The messages arrive about 1-2s later (i disabled vibration on my phone) and since i set Wear for special access everything works without problems, like before...
If i understand right, your notifications arrive after a couple of seconds or sometimes they do not arrive? Is there a coherence when they arrive and when not? (for example always when you re-pair it don't work and when it's constantly paired it works, but delayed?)
And are you syncing with Bluetooth or Wifi (cloud)?

I am going to keep monitoring and see if I notice any patterns to when I do receive notifications instantly, and when I do not. Yes, sometimes my notifications, i.e SMS, or my CNN notifications, I will hear that it arrive on my phone, but then look at my watch and do not see the notifications. Sometimes, it would eventually go on my watch a few minutes afterwards.
When I re-paired it, I did notice that my notifications appeared instantly. I did not try to walk away from my phone and come back to have it re-paired automatically. I can try that today and see what happens. I just turned on wi-fi sync yesterday. But would i still be getting text SMS through wi-fi?
When you say that you set Wear for special access, where about did you check that?
Yes, try to find out what commonly happens when it does not work...
I haven't been trying wifi sync but i think all notifications should work like using bluetooth.

Cant for the life of me get google music to work on the SW3 (paired with a S7 Edge running stock marshmallow). Anyone had similar?
Downloaded 2 playlists to my phones internal memory as instructed online, one of my own uploaded music to the service, and one of music i hadnt uploaded (signed up for a google music trial to see if that was the reason).
Phone and watch are connected in the actual wear app fine etc. Set up properly in the google music app settings and can see the playlists both there ready to go to the watch from the 'manage wear downloads' section and my watch shows, opened up the app on the watch and then 'play on wear', eventually after maybe 15 seconds it shows all my available playlists and the 2 playlists id downloaded onto the phone are in orange, but nothing happens after that. No sync. Even though i set it to sync when it asked me when first opened the app on the watch. I can select and deselect playlists and an orange tick card pops up at the bottom of the screen, when i click that it just goes back to the watch main face. Left it to see if it starts but nothing.
Tried factory resetting the watch, uninstalling updates for play music on phone, updating again, clearing cache of the app, even clearing the cache on the phone, watch fully charged or on charge, same with phone, also tried 2 bluetooth headsets to see if it wasnt picking that up right.
Anyone think of anything ive missed (apart from factory resetting the phone)? cheers.

I'm not sure if this will help, but you might try unpairing the watch from the phone and then go into the Google Play Services settings and wipe the Wearable Storage data. Then factory reset the watch and wipe the data on the Android Wear companion app... reboot the phone and watch... and then pair the watch with the phone again.
That should give you a fresh start and hopefully help to get things synced up.

unpaired the watch, went into play services and wiped the wear storage. Factory reset the watch and cleared the data in the wear app and uninstalled it. Rebooted both and set it all up again from scratch. Opened the app on the watch and turned on music sync. Initially said i needed to plug in power which i did, and then it showed the playlists, clicked on the ones i had been testing with and then the orange tick and it goes back to the watch face as before. Checked the settings in the play music app and all looks as it should. Still wont sync. :silly:
Unpaired with S7 Edge, factory reset and setup with my LG G Pad, worked a treat, music sync'd without any issue.
Unpaired, reset etc and set back up fresh with the S7 Edge. Same issues. Arghhhhh!!!
Wonder if its something permissions related on the S7 thats doing it not allowing the transfer of files to the watch. Saying that tested with wear media app and that sync'd across music files fine. Anyone any ideas?
Managed to get this sorted.
Was reading through this
https://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!msg/android-wear/DGr1WPiy9Po/Sv6ThhXmDAAJ
And saw a comment about taking out the sd card, so did so and it worked immediately even though play music was saving to the internal storage. Very weird. But glad it's sorted.

There was music files on the sd card but not relating to Google play music, must have been trying to scan this possibly. Who knows. Anyway, yeah hopefully someone finds it useful.
Really pleased with the upgrade to AW 2.0 and I LOVE my Huawei Watch. Only thing that doesn't seem to be working is resyncing apps!
On AW 1.5, I used to update my apps on the phone when prompted, then I would resync apps to the Watch through the phone's AW, to ensure the watch had the latest update. Once the resyncing was (or seemed) completed, the watch screen used to go blank before returning to norm. I thought this signified that the apps had all been updated on the watch.
With AW 2.0, I go through the same process but now the watch screen no longer goes blank, so I can't tell if the apps on the watch have been successfully updated. I realise you can update apps directly from the watch and I have 'automatic update' switched on for the watch. Four apps have been updated (according to the watch) but they must have been by the watch rather than me resyncing because the rest of the updated apps on the phone are not mentioned as having been upgraded on the watch.
Today I have downloaded ParKing (parked car finder) onto my phone and tried to sync it to my watch but the app hasn' t transferred across to the watch. All other notifications from phone to watch work. Anyone else had this and sorted the problem?
Sorted the ParKing app to my Watch. I went online to Google, my apps, clicked on 'compatible with all your devices', and bounced it to the Watch. Still a little confused over the resyncing via AW on the phone though.

Most apps do not sync anymore with AW 2.0. You need to use the Play Store on the watch to download them to the watch. Many watch apps do not need to be on the phone any more.
Much appreciated. I didn't realise. This change to updating directly on the watch makes more sense.
EDIT - IMPORTANT: THE 2.13 UPDATE OF WEAR OS SOLVES THIS PROBLEM
This is what worked for me. It is the combination of two solutions that did not work for me separately.
Restore the watch.
On the phone delete all Google accounts.
Clear cache and data from the App Wear Os. Uninstall App Wear Os. Then remove cache and data from applications Play Store, Google and Google services.
With the phone browser download an old version of the Android Wear application, specifically the 2.8.0.183316206.gms of January 26:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-wear/android-wear-2-8-0-183316206-gms-release/android-wear-smartwatch-2-8-0-183316206-gms-android-apk-download/
Install the apk. Remember to have the installation of unknown sources enabled.
Before opening the Android Wear application you must enable all its permissions.
Then open the App and pair with the watch.
When they are already paired, follow the watch presentation tutorial. At the time of the presentation of the Google voice assistant, you must indicate on the watch that you want to add an account from your phone. If everything went well, the system asks for confirmation of the password.
When the Google account is already added, you must go to the Play Store App of the watch and update the applications indicated by the system.
VERY IMPORTANT: DESEABLE AUTOMATIC UPDATES ON THE PHONE (if Wear Os updates, the problems appear again)
The downside of this solution is that we have to keep an old version of the Android Wear App. Personally I only use this App so that the phone is paired with the phone.
If anyone has any doubts about the method I can try to help him.
Sorry for my Google Translate English.
Thanks work for me
I can not open the link..Can you upload it again please?

Since 2.13 Wear Os App everything works fine.
I have a Huawei Watch V1 and I can't connect to my google account, so google fit, google assistant, android play, market etc. nothing was used. Finally I tried it on my old model xiaomi mi 5s plus (I kept it in the drawer as a spare for a long time) and everything connected as it should. Who knows, maybe it's stuck with google embargo. I hope this information is useful to you. Good luck.
my sony smartwatch 3 don't syncing my apps!!! I've factory-reset the watch and phone multiple times. I've cleared the cache for Google Play Service, Wear OS. Notifications (such as text messages) work just fine, but I don't see third party apps in the smartwatch
Hi, the reason is that new android apps have suppport for wear os 2.0 (wich has a kind of playstore for companion app installation) only, and dropped wear os 1.6 support.
I think you must install old apps for the time of the watch was available. I still have a SW3 and a G-Watch with Android 1.5 and I must keep often old app to have the app on the watch. Often, if I update the phone 3rd app this app stay on watch (not updated) but often continu to works on watch.
You must also force the "sync" in Wear advanced settings and more than one time I have the app installed on the watch only after 3 days........
yes...I have this problem too...
Update Google services play
Hi, I was on the same problem, you need to update your google play service up to the 20.xx versiĆ³n, via usb, try the 15 second adb installer, download google play service (wear os) on apk mirror, use the install adb command
Hi, you can take a look here if you still didn't find a solution
