So i decided to buy my galaxy nexus! whoop i use to own a nexus one but i went to a non nexus device lol bad choice... now i value the nexus line. i didnt think the nexus one had good development back in the day considering people were still jumping on board to android. but now wow galaxy nexus has great development support considering android is 4 years (almost 5?) old now instead of 2 when the nexus one first arrived.
so i bought it from the google store on friday night at 11:27pm and it says its being shipped from mountain view cali. well i live in cali too...in around ventura county. 50 miles north of los angeles. still no word on shipping confirmation but i heard some crazy stories on xda where people got their galaxy nexus or nexus 7 tablet delieved to their door 1 hour before or after receiving their device. since i live relatively close to mountain view should i expect my galaxy nexus to be shipped early? instead of 5 days just 3? maybe
im starting off college this Saturday i want my nexus before then

Mine was ordered Friday night.. well, actually Saturday morning since it was after midnight, but w/e.. anyway, it still says:

The 16gb is available at the samsung store in Westfield centre Stratford. Thats the only place im aware of that has stock at the moment. They only stock the 16gb WIFI version though
Yep it's frustrating at the moment, I am almost tempted to order the 3G version from amazon.de, I think if they had the black version I would have ordered by now.
I can't help feeling that Samsung are shooting themselves in the foot the longer they leave it with the new Nexus 7 just round the corner.
Sorry I meant Westfield not lakeside! It's the 3G one I'm after ideally. Maybe amazon.de is the way forward. I'll give the UK another week or so then go German!

Carphone warehouse say they will ship wifi version before week commencing May 5th is you pre-order. However they also said this 10th april for delivery before 19th April. I pre-ordered (they took my money) and I rang to chase on the 18th to see it slip out to May 5th. So I cancelled my order.
So I don't suppose this really helps you! but they are listing it and cheaper than amazon.de.
I noticed the Carphone Warehouse date slipping too, I really looking for a black 3G version which it seems is non existent right now.
I asked Samsung UK on Facebook, they replied

I'm in the States, but want the 3G/Phone N5100 version as well. Every site that I've seen it listed at in the U.S. has also slipped from April 23rd to May 8th availability. So those dates correspond well to a 3-4 day lead time from foreign sources such as the initial May 19th, then May 5th dates given by Carphone Warehouse UK.
Hopefully May 5th (and May 8th for me) will be the day! Fingers crossed...
I own a Note 2, and was intrigued by this device.
However, the price really puts me off. For an 8" tablet, it is in a price bracket of it's own. More expensive than the iPad Mini even.
I just can't justify that layout for something that is just a little bigger than my Note 2, it just isn't worth it.
A real shame, because it looks a great device.

Its in a price bracket of its own, because its in a league if its own. Even against the iPad Mini, the Note 8 has the pen digitizer, better CPU, and 4x the RAM (although the exterior build quality is arguably not quite as good, but still great).
Its worth if for those that value a premium device packed with features, versus the "race to the bottom" pricing strategy and gimping of features and quality present on devices like the Nexus 7, Kindle Fire, and Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. I for one am thankful that somebody has stepped up with a quality Android device (in the "smaller" form factor), as the lower-priced competition just doesn't hack it for me.
I am also waiting for the 3G version to become available so that I can replace both my Note 2 and IPad Mini with a single device. :good:
Samsung UK Facebook stated the wifi version would be available on 10th May.
Currys have the same availability date with the Note 8.0 ready to pre-order.
The Note is on Amazon UK - £339. However they are stating a 1- 3 month delivery. I'm confident that it will be available well before that time slot, as they often state this for newly released goods.

I'm assuming you got the WiFi only version? I'm patiently waiting for the 3G/Phone version to be released in the UK or elsewhere so I can get it through an importer to the U.S. (Los Angeles).
Yes just the white 16gb wifi is all they have....hope you don't have to wait to long

An Australian grey importer got the the 3G version in stock yesterday, so probably you'll see other importers get them soon.
Decided to wait further, as Australian versions of the device get 24 months warranty, but if you get an international version, it only has 12 months warranty. Endless waiting!
I wanted to buy the note for some time, but i was disappointed in the sprint launch of note 3 so i wanted to know if the price will drop for the note 2 when the note 3 comes out. Right now i see a price of $249.99 for upgrade but how much lower will it drop or will it even drop the price?

Price on note 3 vs note 2
So yesterday I went to Best buy to pre-order the galaxy gear, and none of the ppl there knew what what the galaxy gear. So I continued looking around the Samsung kiosk that they have setup in store... mean while geeks search and educate them self's over the Galaxy Gear. I could help notice that the galaxy note 2 still have a price tag of 800 US dls... while the note 3 is being release for the same price. unless you are upgrading.. AT&T and Verizon is only 250, Sprint has their's for 350.

It's probably going to drop to $99.00 cause I have seen it as low as $149 depending on where you look. Radio Shack and Amazon are usually cheapest. Once the Note 3 drops it could even go as low as $49.99. GSIII's are free at Sprint right now.
When upgraded devices come out the price on the old hardware always drops while it is still carried. That just depends on what direction you want to go with your purchase. You can get the newest device or buy the Note 2 which in my mind is still new. I would review the device specs closely and decide which device will fit your needs.
Sprint has been having deals on the phones when they release. S4 had a bogo so who knows what they will do when it comes out. I'm with you I want the note 3 but I don't want to pay 350 for it. I've been debating on getting the nexus 5 or note 2.

thanks for the reply people. i ordered my note 2 on amazon for 149.99 i know that it may go down to 99.99 or cheaper when note 3 comes out but i cant wait for it. im using a busted up blackberry 9630 and it has really bad problems even with texting and phone calls loll ive played around with the note 2 on my cousins phones and i know how the developements are. if only note 3 was triband and a 300 price tag i would buy it but right now none of the options came up. so ill stick with my note 2 when it comes so i can put the cleanrom ace with perseus kernel that is truly amazing. its coming on tuesday and i ordered it last night! this will be a good enough phone till the note 4 comes out and which i can use my other line's upgrade next year for it and give the other person the note 2 =)
I was contemplating getting the Note 3 but I think I am over the big screen for now. I will probably return at some point but the N3 didn't have enough wow factor for me. I am actually looking to trade my Note 2 for a Moto X lol.

the new nexus 7 (2013) was supposed to be launched in India on 12th nov, along with the nexus 5 but it didnt. the next probable date was 16th november, again it didnt.
meanwhile the nexus 5 will start shipping within this week only (acc to snapdeal) but the playstore still shows "coming soon"
now i am getting really really impatient abt all this.
so, should i wait for the new N7 to officially launch in India or just import it via amazon??? they are charging a measly 3000rs for taxes.
but i do have some concerns-
1. what about returns and after sales service?
2. warranty? will i get the warranty AFTER the new nexus is officially launched in India?
3. do i really need to worry abt warranty? (the 1st gen N7 users might be able to answer this)

abt 8000 pieces of the new nexus7 was shipped to India on 13th november and its still not available in the market (both online and offline retailers), while the shipments of nexus 5 were sent on a later date and from today many retailers are selling it. whereas its still showing "coming soon" for nexus 5 on playstore and no word abt the nexus7 availability after the rumored release date of 12th nov.

After giving up my second Note 7 (they sent 3 more boxes after I returned it just to be sure!)
I got a S7 Edge, and I hate it.
I ordered a 64GB black Note 7 on Oct 17 and Im still waiting for it to ship.
I knew it said ships by Nov 15, but this is driving me crazy! I definitely hate this phone and waiting for this N5 is making me check every day hoping that they ship!
They are giving a $100 credit for ordering the N5 but they will not apply it to my order, instead they say I have to cancel the order and place it again. The last delivery date for the N5 64GB was Dec 21, and now they dont even offer it at all!
They are charging more for this phone than the S7E (which I got for $50 after an instant credit) at $399.00. Considering that this is last years phone, and with all the hassle they put us through with the N7's mess they really should give us a better price.
I only wish they were a little better with the communication during the extensive delay in shipping.
