Anyone know how to remove the "Mark as Read" notification from the stock text Messaging app without turning off all notifications?

How to enable the option to get "New IM message" in the list of notifications under settings? Cause most of the ROMs here does not have that option under notification.

Look for "messaging: new text message" , and check "Display message on screen".
Not possible that you don't have it.
PS: Ops I misread. You were asking about IM message not Text message. That I can't help you. the ROM I use definitely doesn't have it!
Yeah most of the ROMs out here dont have that option but I found it in some. Wanted to know how to enable it manually.
Hi, for the windows live messenger application the notifications for Im and nudge are usually updated in sounds and notifications menu after the first time you launch the messenger application.
Anyone know if there is any way to change handcent notifications? They have yet to put in any expandable notifications.
I love the stock messenger notifications, especially after the CM10 addition of "Additional notification action to call sender," but the messenging app is ugly and too large to be functional for me.
Combining stock notifications to handcent app would make my life sparkle like a unicorn.

I'm looking for the Handcent notification to work like the default messaging app for 4.2, where there is an option to click 'Reply' right from the notification and a 'Quick Reply' box will come up. Right now, Handcent has no additional/expanded functionality in the notification for 4.2 and you have to click the whole notification to be brought into Handcent app to reply to the message.

You need a modified messaging apk to do it thru the app while using notifications. Easier way is to download sms popup from the market, disable notifications in the messaging app and use sms popup to get your notifications, in its settings theres an option to disable screen on, and with notifications off in stock messaging it won't turn on either. Sms popup is nice cuz you can quick reply from the popup, choose you notification icon, and individual ringtones and vibrate patterns per contact. I use it on TW and some AOSP roms that don't have popup or quick reply added in.

Can we have a search option in Lineage OS stock Messaging app like that of Google Messages app? It's a very handy feature to search through old SMS. Google Messages app sometimes isn't reliable in reception of SMS.
