I tried it but EZ Disabler does not give me the "MANAGE" option.

Click the search "magnifier" from the top right of the home screen.
Type: Android System into the search box.
Select Android System (not the check mark or the star, the actual name itself.)
Select MANAGE and scroll down the list to the end; IQService will be there.

I repeat my previous post: "No MANAGE option found". Or as @jaaluk posted: "No MANAGE button".

Can we do the same with packagedisablerpro, also can anyone confirm if this helps battery life.

(Not rooted)
The manage button is present in the latest version of Ez Package Disabler Pro ... version 2.5.5
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hecorat.packagedisabler
1. I clicked the button to disable bloatware it found 48 items.
2. I disabled anything that was blatantly AT&T or Samsung garbage.. (Still disabling stuff little by little)
3. I disabled carrier iq as described here.
4. Remove garbage like VR gear, Facebook, Instagram.. (If I recognized it I flushed it)
My phone boots so fast now! Tons of garbage gone.. Battery life was the point so I will see if I get a usable phone again.

What is the difference between EZ and package disabler pro? What you prefer?

Ez has the ability to disable certain sub component within a process while package disable pro only allow you to disable the whole process. While EZ is more powerful, don't bother getting it as the licensing mechanism has been broken for a while and the dev has not bothered to fix it so you wouldn't be able to use the app even if you purchase it.

You can disable packages and you can disable services within a package. For instance with 'Carrier IQ' you are disabling a service within the Android System. If you disable Android System the obvious result would happen, don't do that. But you can and I do disable Carrier IQ
I found a better package disabler! It doesn't have as nice of a front end but it works just as well and it imports the same xml files. It also disables 109 packages from the gates! I think it's best friggin feature is, it NEVER goes down.. You still can't disable software updates but it is really powerful. (in addition to using a disabler ALSO disable anything you can disable under DEVICE|APPLICATOINS|APPLICATION MANAGER <make sure to click more, show system apps> -- then disable what you can/don't need.. If you can disable here it stops it from running most efficiently)
Notes: You can manually disable anything except "KLMS Agent" and this works still.

I'm pretty new with making a tutorial on XDA. If I'm doing something wrong or you have a suggestion to make, then feel free to PM me
What's NFC Key?
NFC Key is a method of unlocking your phone (from the lockscreen) by simply touching your NFC tag on the back of your device.

If this MOD is not yet supported on your device, kindly ask one of XDA members to port it over to your device!

I'm not 100% sure if the error is on my part or on a 3rd party app.
I can't test the NFC Key on my current phone due to lack of hacks(ROM/MOD) available for Korean Model.
But since I pulled the Tasker's task from TiBackUp, it shouldn't have any problem.
My previous USA phone will be ship to me within a month or so.
Until then, let's try something...
Can you try the following steps?
1) Go to "Tasker" app
2) View the menu with your hard key (soft key if it's in your screen)
3) Click "More"
4) Click "Run An Action"
5) Click "Plugin"
6) Click "Secure Settings"
7) Click "Edit" button
8) Click "Keyguard"
9) Click "Off"
10) Click "Save" icon on the bottom
11) Go back using hard key or app's back key
Try turning off and on your screen, are you free from the lockscreen?
No, I still have the lockscreen enabled.

Actions (15 available - 15 enabled): if I check the list I have a green dot on the left an (an active) light grey on the right. If I click on keyguard it changes to dark check mark on the right, so the light one must means its enabled.

Thanks for all your help, finally I figured out what was wrong. I have two other security apps which requires device admin rights, and it seems one of them is actually preventing secure settings to remove keyguard. Once I removed those from device admin your method is working without any problem.
Unfortunately I need those apps enabled and there is no way I can remove this safety function from them My bad
So, to all the others... I can confirm the NFC unlock method from peurocs4 works as described. Big thumbs up!

You might able to do it with same method with different Tasker's Task (that types in what you programmed it to do).
But that obviously means anyone could see the password just by opening up the Tasker's Task.

Looking for a solution myself to o...I tried some app called 'disable services' from the playstore and disabled carrier IQ service...but I think it is turning itself on again after reboot...however the iqd process memory usage goes down to 2 mb after disabling and running services under android system shows 0, so maybe it does not remove ciq but disables it
Edit - it seems the 2 files related to ciq are under /system/lib - libIQ_client.so, libiq_service.so
If you are rooted, these 2 files can be deleted...but it may cause serious issues ( bootloops, force closes etc) ..I will try deleting these files sometime later, when I have more time to work on the phone

I've read through a bunch of posts on this and agree that the GPS will turn on for no reason. Today was a good example it was on most all of today and I have no idea why.
So I decided to look around and while playing with Disable Service app from the market I found something about Carrier IQ. I can disable it so I did. Since doing so this afternoon my GPS hasn't been on and I cannot report any ill effects. Does it work? You be the judge... by the way this will require root access on your phone. My results are based on a brand new stock AT&T Optimus G Pro, well stock with root.
Process:
1. go to Google Play market and install "Disable Service" by WANGQI060934
2. open the app, swipe sideways to System Apps page
3. look for Android System, click on it
4. click on IQService to uncheck it
5. be happy!
I have confirmed this remains disabled after reboot. :good:

Thanks for this I will report back in 24 Hours since the service itself seems to turn itself back on. also the "main process" still is loaded in Running Apps>Android System and it cut itself from 5mb to 2.5mb by disabling it.

Yeah, definitely DO NOT delete or rename those 2 files. It caused android.phone to force close. It also stopped my ability to receive text messages.
I deleted the Carrier IQ after backing it up with Titanium BU and that did not affect anything. Renaming those 2 remaining files, however, did affect things.

GPS, Stock AT& LG OG Pro - Further Developments???
Without a doubt I need advise and assistance with this GPS issue.
I activated my new LG Optimus G Pro Saturday. The GPS began turning itself on yesterday so, I went to Settings and discovered it was on. I disabled it with the soft toggle switch, but had to repeat this several times throughout the day. This is annoying! This morning I turned the phone on GPS came on right away so, I checked Settings and it is disabled. No quality concern here...
I see I can download an application from the Play Store to disable, but also noted the update to a newer version of Android.
Please advise regarding my best option for be rid of this nonsense.
The steps I posted above should work for you. It still works for me on latest 10p software update.

I found and downloaded the 'Disable Service', but have not determined a known safe method to root my e980. Bin4ry's method appears to be suitable, but I need to read more. I also noticed the Asian version of Root Master being discussed as a universal method for rooting, but the warning regarding its use caused me to search for Bin4ry's method.

Whatever it does it makes that app stop. You can try it or not, but it worked for me.
What does it do?:
• Block / Disable applications on your device
• UnBlock / Enable applications on your device
• Allow UnBlock / Enable all applications at once on your device
• Allows filtering of the displayed packages for quicker decision making
• Allows exporting your blocked / unblocked listing to a file (Right click on Read Device Packages after list is loaded)
• Allows importing your blocked, or someone else's, listing (Right click on Read Device Packages after list is loaded)
• Allows complete removal of application(s) if you have root (It will backup the original folder structure and apk for you, just in case you need to restore the application(s) back to your device.
Yeah with root access it can block them, hence the big warning when you fire it up saying it cant block them.

Yes it hides it from the application drawer that's about it, it just like when you buy a key from the playstore and you open it up and says do you want to hide from the app drawer.
Go to Settings - General - Apps - All and you will still see Tmobile My Account listed because the only way to block an application from running is with root, unless you got root already
BUT it stops the app from draining battery, regardless of removing the app...
All you have to do is try it, it only took me five minutes and my battery has been lasting over 10 hours a day after I did it. The app no longer shows up under running apps or under my battery stats.

Seem like a great tool and good tutorial video in the link.
Can you list what you blocked out and any benefits to battery life from what you blocked out?

I blocked My Tmobile app, some of the LG apps that I won't use (like dual window, can't remember all) and my battery has had a noticeable difference, like I said well over 10 hours on heavy usage. Today my battery is at 8h40m on battery with 6h30m estimated left.

Guide about Honor magic

First of all I don't own a magic device however I use the magic firmware on my Honor 8 so I can't cover up all info about magic usage but most of them.
So Q/A
I can't install third party launchers, why?
Because huawei blocked this on this firmware. To install third party launchers you'll need root.
So I got a launcher installed. But I can't see any widgets?
Open /system/etc/permissions/handheld_core_hardware.xml and find there will be a # before it which disables the feature. Just remove it and reboot.
Why doesn't notifications work?
By default third party apps gets disabled notifications (idk why) go to notifications and enable them for your new installed apps.
I can't see nfc option?
This is due to being disabled in earlier builds. However B536.1 evaluation versions brings nfc settings.
Some options are still in Chinese why?
They have informed you that the English language is still in beta (unfinished) this we might be able to fix with overlays.
More will come.

What I can tell for now no I haven't seen any indication of it update wise . And since it's a test device rather then a official retail device it is likely they only are going to fix bugs etc. However I can't tell to a 100% but as its a half year since the device is released I doubt nougat is coming in near feature (if at all) there's no info as far as I can see (though I can't read or search in Chinese)

Honor magic usage
Hi There,
Magic phone is indeed magic like, feels really great and looks beautiful, very smooth feel in hand.
Needed few tips and tricks to make more use of it.
Are these possible without root, if rooted office email app will be blocked
1) How to install launcher as system app, Please pls guide. I'm dying to install Neon, Zero.
2) How to install Ultra battery mode? - it is present in Honor 6 and it's awesome!
3) Is it possible to reduce resolution - Screen power saving - like Honor 6, saves battery during night and driving
4) Possible to change keyboard during typing? Popups doesn't show in notification shade, it's painful to go to settings n change every time
TIA.
Tnx,
Shreyas

1. Without root is not possible to install any 3rd party launcher except google launcher.
2. Do you mean the ultrabattery launcher which comes with huawei? If so it could be possible.
3. Resolution i doubt without root, and no idea about that feature.
4. We'll if you don't use navigation bar no, if you do it might work. Can't tell since I don't use that firmware atm but I never saw any fast switch for keyboard

Hi,
I can't figure out how to remove the carrier name from the notification bar on the magic. There seems not to be any option in settings.
Any tips? Phone is rooted.
Thanks,
er

I think you can edit it somewhere in a xml
Or in a prop file
Say me can you help me with oeminfo?
Or are you using the magicdevice?
Sent from my FRD-L09 using Tapatalk
Yes I am using a magic for the moment.
I've been trying to find it in the props and xmls, but I didn't find "carrier" or "operator" with a grep. It might be called something else.
Google Launcher doesn’ Work. After the installation, when I try to open it, appear an error message who advise I need to change launcher in Settings-Home but in Settings there isn’t “home”

Yes download s secure app from galaxy app store. You can use the in display fingerprint scanner and face recognition as well.
Does a50 have inbuilt app lock? I have fond but unable to open. Go to settings >> search for app lock. Then you will find "app lock" with an lock icon.

Pretty odd of Samsung to not include S Secure as a system app. The things is that the S Secure app can be uninstalled but on doing so, while the App Lock option disappears from the menu, the apps remain protected. So in effect it is using system level locking rather an app level one which is a good thing.
t3chg33k said:
It is pointless to use S Secure from the Galaxy Store as it can be uninstalled without any password thereby exposing the protected apps. It should have been included as a system app instead.

Who's going to do that, anyways you can just hide the s secure app from you app list,

Just checked it, the apps remain locked. The first time I did so, it was without rebooting, so it seemed as if the app lock was not working, but on restart, I found that the apps still remain locked even though S Secure has been uninstalled.

i have s folder, which i find useless since i do not want duplicates of apps, but downloaded s secure and although it installs fine it does not work. Nothing comes up under Advanced Settings and the app FC. Had to download Norton App Lock.
All i wanted was a way to lock apps, should it really be this difficult !
Samsung A50 UK variant Model SM-A505FN Build PPR1.180610.011.A505FNXXU1ASC7.

Hey, s secure and secure folder are 2 different things. I think you misunderstood.
To download s secure
Check if you downloaded the right one
Go to play store or galaxy app store and search "s secure" and download it.
I attached screen shot of the app
And then set it up with fingerprint and/or face unlock and a pin/pattern and then select the apps you want to lock.
must be a country specific thing, here's what i get when i go into samsung store and search for 's secure', nothing, i scrolled down and it's not there. I downloaded from apk mirror v4.0.03, but like i said, that is not working.

really liked this native solution rather than having a third party app lock app which won't work as good as this one.

Same here.
It's not available in my country.
The downloaded apk won't work either.
Not supported for my country.
Samsung really needs to get rid of this bull**** region lock thing because it does not make any sense to region lock an app.
I got it from apptoide but it does not work propperly.
