What's NFC Key?
NFC Key is a method of unlocking your phone (from the lockscreen) by simply touching your NFC tag on the back of your device.

I'm not 100% sure if the error is on my part or on a 3rd party app.
I can't test the NFC Key on my current phone due to lack of hacks(ROM/MOD) available for Korean Model.
But since I pulled the Tasker's task from TiBackUp, it shouldn't have any problem.
My previous USA phone will be ship to me within a month or so.
Until then, let's try something...
Can you try the following steps?
1) Go to "Tasker" app
2) View the menu with your hard key (soft key if it's in your screen)
3) Click "More"
4) Click "Run An Action"
5) Click "Plugin"
6) Click "Secure Settings"
7) Click "Edit" button
8) Click "Keyguard"
9) Click "Off"
10) Click "Save" icon on the bottom
11) Go back using hard key or app's back key
Try turning off and on your screen, are you free from the lockscreen?
No, I still have the lockscreen enabled.

Actions (15 available - 15 enabled): if I check the list I have a green dot on the left an (an active) light grey on the right. If I click on keyguard it changes to dark check mark on the right, so the light one must means its enabled.
edit: just to be prompt: my device has a password lock, all other lock options are disabled.

Thanks for all your help, finally I figured out what was wrong. I have two other security apps which requires device admin rights, and it seems one of them is actually preventing secure settings to remove keyguard. Once I removed those from device admin your method is working without any problem.
Unfortunately I need those apps enabled and there is no way I can remove this safety function from them My bad
So, to all the others... I can confirm the NFC unlock method from peurocs4 works as described. Big thumbs up!

nah, its a corporate stuff... mandatory always on password lock. Though I'm wondering if any app could actually type in the password by an NFC tag trigger
though, I would still need to confirm that if I'm allowed to do that way :\

You might able to do it with same method with different Tasker's Task (that types in what you programmed it to do).
But that obviously means anyone could see the password just by opening up the Tasker's Task.

FiredTV Launcher is a 'replacement' for Amazon's Home/Launcher app which does not show sideloaded apps.
Visit the project page for more information (including source code): https://github.com/Redth/FiredTVLauncher

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
How does it work?
While it's not possible (yet/without root) to actually replace the launcher app, FiredTV effectively does this by watching for Amazon's launcher being opened, and then immediately launches itself. Because of this, you will see Amazon's home screen flash on the screen very briefly after pressing the home button, before FiredTV Launcher appears.
Installation
You can install the app by grabbing the .APK directly from the releases page: https://github.com/Redth/FiredTVLauncher/releases
You will need to sideload the app. There are many guides available how to do this on the forums.
Once the app has been installed, go into your FireTV Settings, go into Applications, find 'FiredTV' in the list, select it, and select 'Launch Application'
Enjoy!
Where's the Java?
If you looked at the source, you may have noticed that there's no Java. That's because this was written entirely in C# using Xamarin! C# is awesome, go use Xamarin!
What's next?
Obviously this launcher is very simple, and there's not much to it. I'm planning on adding some Settings configuration within the app, so you can do things like hide apps, reorder them, hide labels, change colors, etc.
UPDATES
--------------------------
v1.1.5
- Better FireTV Stick support
- Fixed Default Wallpaper not showing up in some instances
- Fixed Show/Hide for Amazon apps
- New Icon/Name for FireTV Home 'app'
- Fixed Settings icon
v1.1.4
- Fixed Signing issue
v1.1.3
- Updated Home detection logic, should be much more reliable
- Home detection is disabled by default (to help App store approval)
- Fixed a bug where the settings might show Home Detection enabled when it's actually disabled
v.1.1.0
- Home key detection disabled by default (to pass Amazon Store approval - you can enable it in Settings)
- New implementation for re-ordering apps
- More reliable settings saving/loading
- Customizable Wallpaper
- Removed FiredTV Logo
- Customizable Alpha of various backgrounds (top bar, label, app icon)
- Long press menu to hide app or uninstall app
v.1.0.3
- Now you can re-order apps
- Fixed bug with hiding Settings shortcut
- Now works on other devices (also on other devices that support it, now can become the 'home' launcher app)
- Fixed bug with time display (was in 24 hours by default)
v.1.0.2
This version adds some new features. Please note a different keystore was used to sign this app, so you may have to uninstall v.1.0.1 first!
- Hide/Show apps are all configurable now
- Date / Time now on home screen
- Hiding Logo, Date, Time App Labels all now configurable
- App Label font size configurable
- Fixed Settings shortcut
- Apps are now sorted by name
Great! How did you run it instead KFTV launcher?
Waiting hide apps, reorder... And please make the time display.
After clicking Settings crashes in KFTV launcher, so it should be?
Sorry for my English
Donated $ 10 I will write to my blog, who can still support
Thanks so much!
I am using a service to check the foreground activity and when it matches the Amazon fire TV launcher I open mine instead. Not the ideal solution but the only way so far to make it work!
I will work on those features first thing, thanks for the donation!!!

It really doesn't make sense for me to kill the AFTV process since no matter what you do right now, when you press HOME on the remote, the AFTV process starts up. So, if after I launched FiredTV when AFTV starts up, I went and killed AFTV, it would actually be slower the next time you pressed the home button since Amazon would start up the whole process again. This of course is all just theory too (I have a feeling it might not be so easy to kill AFTV process).
So, for now, it really doesn't make sense to try and kill the process, so I'm not going to be doing that...

3. I disabled carrier iq as described here.
4. Remove garbage like VR gear, Facebook, Instagram.. (If I recognized it I flushed it)

Ez has the ability to disable certain sub component within a process while package disable pro only allow you to disable the whole process. While EZ is more powerful, don't bother getting it as the licensing mechanism has been broken for a while and the dev has not bothered to fix it so you wouldn't be able to use the app even if you purchase it.

You can disable packages and you can disable services within a package. For instance with 'Carrier IQ' you are disabling a service within the Android System. If you disable Android System the obvious result would happen, don't do that. But you can and I do disable Carrier IQ
I found a better package disabler! It doesn't have as nice of a front end but it works just as well and it imports the same xml files. It also disables 109 packages from the gates! I think it's best friggin feature is, it NEVER goes down.. You still can't disable software updates but it is really powerful. (in addition to using a disabler ALSO disable anything you can disable under DEVICE|APPLICATOINS|APPLICATION MANAGER <make sure to click more, show system apps> -- then disable what you can/don't need.. If you can disable here it stops it from running most efficiently)
Notes: You can manually disable anything except "KLMS Agent" and this works still.

Hello guys,
One of the YouTuber has shown how to get a op5t face ID on any Android device.
Here are the details:
The OnePlus 5T was just released, and it's packing several new useful features. While many OnePlus 5 buyers are feeling frustrated with the quick release cycle, lots of fans are still clamoring to buy the new device. Aside from the larger screen, most of the buzz around the 5T has centered around the new face unlock method. Thanks to a clever hack, you can now get this feature on almost any phone!
In addition to being extremely accurate, the new method speeds up the overall unlocking process. Google already built face unlocking into the Smart Lock feature of Android, but it has a significant drawback: When using Smart Lock's version of facial recognition, users must swipe up on the lock screen after the phone is unlocked. Similar to Apple's Face ID setup, this is an annoying and unnecessary step that companies like Samsung and LG have already done away with in their recognition algorithms. Luckily, it's incredibly quick and easy to enable the OnePlus 5T's lock screen bypass method.
The only requirement here is that your phone is running Android 7.0 or higher, so if you're interested in a quick video tutorial on this process, check out our guide embedded below. If you want the nitty gritty details, read on for the full rundown.
Step 1
Join the Beta for AutoInput
The new auto-unlocking functionality is currently a beta feature in developer João Dias' AutoInput app, so you'll need to join the beta program in order to try it. In order to join the Beta, you first need to join the Google+ Community for AutoApps. Simply tap on the "Join" button on the Google+ page to become a member of the community. After joining the G+ Community, head to the link below and make sure you're signed in with the same Google account you use on your Android device, then tap the "Become a Tester" button.
Link to join for beta program :
https://plus.google.com/communities/110193399489813640793
Join the AutoInput beta program :
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.joaomgcd.autoinput
Step 2
Download the Newest AutoInput Beta
Next, head over to the Google Play Store and install the latest version of the AutoInput app. You might need to wait up to 30 minutes after joining the beta program before the newest version will be available, so if the steps below don't work, check back on the Play Store for an update. You may notice that this app is actually a Tasker plug-in, but that isn't important here and we do not need Tasker to complete this hack.
Install AutoInput for free from the Google Play Store :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.autoinput
Step 3
Start a Free Trial or Buy the Pro Version
In order to access all of the features in AutoInput, you will need to start a 7-day free trial of the app by tapping on "Start Trial." Alternatively, you can purchase the full version. The free trial is a good idea if you're not sure you will use the app on a long-term basis. If you do enjoy modding your phone regularly, AutoInput Pro can be purchased for only $1.99 and is an excellent value for use with Tasker.
Step 4
Activate the Accessibility Service in AutoInput
Like many apps that enable impressive hacks, AutoInput requires access to Accessibility Services to do its magic. When you open the app for the first time, you will notice a large block of red text prompting you to enable this needed service. Tapping on this dialog box will take you into Accessibility Services in your Settings menu. Scroll down to "AutoInput" and tap the toggle to enable it. Tap the back button a few times on your device to get back inside the AutoInput app.
Step 5
Enable 'Auto Dismiss Keyguard' in AutoInput
After enabling AutoInput in Accessibility Services, you will notice that the previous dialog box of red text in the app is gone. Below the new dialog box indicating accessibility is enabled, you will notice an option that says "Auto Dismiss Keyguard". Tap the toggle to enable this feature.
Step 6
Set a Trusted Face in Smart Lock
Finally, you're ready to set up your face unlock and give it a try. Head to Settings –> Security (or "Security and Location" on newer phones), then tap on "Smart Lock". From here you will need to enter your current PIN or pattern, if you have
YouTube video link : https://youtu.be/7UUwBYKCXhw

This post is just to skip the swipe function for the face lock feature
Under 'smart lock', I have 'on body detection', 'trusted places' and 'trusted devices' only, nothing else.
Is there a trick to enable 'trusted faces'? Or perhaps it is unavailable on rooted devices; can someone please comfirm? Thank you.
would be great if this synergy with ambient display when we tilt our phone

I have a rooted OnePlus 5 I'm able to use trusted face.
Try to disable and enable the smart Lock from trusted agents
It works well for me

Which rom and gapps do you use?
That drains battery hell faster than it should
Working fine. But delay in unlocking. Thanks for detailed steps
It works but as other members say delayed at unlocking.. And it's not 100% works.. Sometimes work and sometimes it does not.. Thanks for the share...

This is so bad. Configured as described and it works, it works even so good I can use my wife's, daughter or cats face to unlock it.

If you're on custom rom then you need to flash nano Gapps or any bigger one than it to see this in you're list

Cool, I'll try it.
Also, I didn't get any permission request when opening smart lock for first time.
Anyway, it seems OOS face unlock will be coming soon with Oreo builds, so no issues :victory:
Thank you all for your help. Cheers.
I tried to unlock the phone with my photo and it worked. Thus this face unlock using smart unlock is very unreliable

XDA-Developers: Customize the Google Pixel 2’s Active Edge to do any action with Edge Sense Plus [XDA Spotlight]
What is Edge Sense Plus?
Edge Sense Plus was initially just meant for the HTC U series. It let's you customize the squeeze action and adds some more squeeze gestures and features.
But with the Pixel2 and Pixel3 also coming with a squeezable frame I found a way to make it compatible too.
Since google locked active edge down to just only be able to start Assistant it will require a device rooted with magisk
Requirements
You need to run a STOCK based ROM, because Active Edge is broken on AOSP roms.
You need to be rooted with magisk to use it.
Install the Active Edge System Mod Magisk Module from the MagiskManager Repo and the EdgeSensePlus from the playstore and you are ready to go!
Telegram Group
Join Telegram Edge Sense Plus Group
How does it work
To make it working on the Pixel3 I had to modify the SystemUIGoogle.apk that runs the ElmyraService (Service that processes the squeeze gestures).
I intercept the events and pass them to the EdgeSensePlus Application that starts the appropriate action then that you selected.
Some more adjustments were made, so the squeezing also works when you are in immersive mode, camera or when Google Assistant is deactivated/uninstalled.
What can it do?
Custom actions:
Currently you can choose from over different actions
Quickly Start camera - Also when screen is off and locked
Per App Action - Execute different squeeze actions depending in what app you are!
Sidebar
Gesture Panel - Draw custom gestures to start different actions
Custom App
Shortcuts - e.g. to make direct calls, start tasker tasks and more!

Per app actions:
With the per app action, you can define different squeeze actions per app. So the chosen action will be executed dependent in what app you are currently are.
Double Squeeze: (Premium)
If you often accidentally trigger a short squeeze, that won't happen anymore if you map your desired action to the double squeeze gesture.
You can define a double squeeze interval, to ensure you are quick enough to trigger it every time.
Long Squeeze:
Missed a long squeeze action on your Pixel? Edge Sense Plus has it!
G-Sensor usage: (Premium)
If enabled, will be able to execute different actions depending on the current position of your device, whether it is flat or upright in your hand.
That way you can have six different squeeze gestures: short, long, doublepress in flat or upright device position.
Media control:
The media control will override your set squeeze actions while media is playing so you can control your media.
That includes play/pause, increase/decrease volume and skip to next and previous track.
Squeeze sounds:
Ever thought it would be funny if a squeeze of your Pixel3 would make a sound, if it is a *click*, *oink* , *fart* or whatever you think of?
You can use any .mp3 file to make that happen!
Sidebar:
The Sidebar has 4 different panels, Applications, Shortcuts, Recent Apps (Premium), Quicksettings (Premium).
Panel colors are customizable
Instructions
You must be on at least Oreo 8.1 to to be able to use it. Root with Magisk is required since the magisk module is mandatory!
It is recommended to have a working TWRP backup in case something goes wrong. Check the FAQ for help too.
Like always: Flash on your own risk. I'm not responsible for any damaga to your device
Flash the Magisk Module either in Magisk Manager or TWRP
Install Edge Sense Plus
Enjoy.
Downloads
Now also available via the MagiskManager Repo:
I recommend to install and update the Magisk Module directly via the MagiskManager repository directly in the MagiskManager app.
All releases will be also available on the GitHub repository

YESSS!!!
This is simply a must-have!
Subscribed, rated, thanked... all before even having Pixel in my hands, but this will be the first app I will install (after Magisk, obviously).

If a new security update gets released I need to make sure first that its compatible. if not I need to port my changes to the new version.
Else you would softbrick your device (bootloop).

If you get adb connection, you could delete the folder "active_edge_system_mod" in /sbin/.magisk/img/
adb should usuall kick in also when it loops.
What are the adb commands to delete that folder?

OPAodMod is an Xposed module that provides OnePlus devices on OxygenOS and HydrogenOS with an always on display like that on the Pixels (and other devices). It's existed for a while, but in the last few months stopped working due to the main developer (RetroX) moving on to another device. I picked it up, and after initially providing modded versions with only fixes and simple additions, was kindly given access to the full source code. OPAodMod has now been fully translated, with a new GUI which is easier to use.
Features:
Always on display, which runs all the time - unlike the OnePlus version
Customisable layout, with options including seven themes, including Pixel and OnePlus (OnePlus supports all the system clock styles too), and a DVD screensaver (it's exactly what you think it is)
Notification display, showing the text of a notification when you receive it and dropping back to just an icon after a few seconds
Live music lyrics on supported themes
Battery Optimisation options such as forcing doze and setting the refresh rate to 60Hz when the AoD is showing
Option to only display when you 'raise' your phone
Option to hide the screen when flipped/in your pocket, disable it overnight, or after a time period (10 minutes or 15 seconds)
Show your next alarm, current weather, and currently playing music
Display a short message (like that on your lockscreen)
Full settings GUI for the module with a live preview of your clock
Quick Settings toggle to enable/disable the AoD
Support for Ambient Music Mod for displaying ambient Now Playing tracks on the AoD

Installation Guide:
- Install Riru Core in Magisk
- Install either EdXposed Canary (recommended - Canary may need to be downloaded from the EdXposed app after installing) or TaiChi from Magisk
- Install the module APK
- Enable the module in EdXposed or TaiChi
- Follow the Required Setup in the app
- Reboot your device
- Check the AoD is working and set it up how you like

Thanks! Just to confirm, this has burn-in protection implemented? Any idea on the impact in the battery life?

Yes, this has burn in protection. The battery life does take a noticeable hit, I'm looking at ways to mitigate it better.

Thanks for confirming! I'll try it out. Looking forward to more features and optimizations.
This is awesome!
Just installed it now and it works AMAZING!
One thing I really wish it had is the Fingerprint unlock option on the AoD, but i'm guessing it might be a bit more work.
Is there a way I can participate in the development of the module?

Fingerprint works on the AoD. Chances are because you've just rebooted, it's falling back to the PIN. When it works from the lockscreen, it'll work on the AoD.
Unfortunately while I was given access to the source code privately, it's still not open source so there's no public development access.

I just noticed that the FP does indeed work, but the FP icon is not showing for some reason.
I'm on OP7TP McLaren if that helps.
It does show up on the lockscreen, though.

That's kind of intentional, though I would like to add an option to make it show an indication of where the sensor is. It's more minimal without it though.

Yes, it's minimalistic-looking without it, but it would be nice to have it toggleable
If I remember correctly, in RetroX's version it was impossible to hide notification text for apps that weren't China-specific. Is that still the case?

There's a short list of apps that are hidden with the toggle enabled:
I'll probably add a GUI to edit them at some point, but might just add some package names to the list before that.

Thanks for the info! Also, I don't know if it's technically possible, but consider following the system settings for hiding sensitive content on the lockscreen instead of a separate GUI/toggle. I currently have that enabled for messaging and mail apps and it works on the OnePlus ambient display as well.

It would be possible, but I'd prefer to leave it as a separate toggle for now. I'll maybe change it to default to match the system when I add the GUI to pick apps though.
Hi! I love the module, well done! I think it would be cool if you could also add a quicksettings toggle which makes it possible to easily turn the AOD on and off.
Just wanted to confirm, this is for rooted devices only? No way to get this without rooting? Great work, nonetheless.
New bugfix release, version 3.0.1b
Fixes:
- No longer shows 'null' for twelve on word clock
- Added translations for charging states
- Added the following apps as sensitive apps:
-> OnePlus SMS
-> OnePlus Phone
-> Google Phone
-> Google Messages
-> WhatsApp
-> Facebook Messenger
-> Facebook
-> Telegram
-> Instagram
-> Snapchat
-> Discord
-> Twitter
-> VK
-> Сбербанк Онлайн
-> Raiffeisen Online Russia
An app picker will be added later, this is just a stopgap.
Download is attached and also attached to first post

thanks for this app. Unfortunately couldnt get the "AOD only when phone is raised" option to work on 7T. stays on all the time. Would be nice if it could work on 7T as well! thanks
Hey guys,
I'm so glad to have come across this mod. I've been using this mod on my OnePlus 6 since a couple of hours. I can already say it consumes lesser power than the AOD on custom ROMs.
Thanks a lot!
Sohail
This is great, will there be a slider to change display brightness? Or maybe a way to shut off a checkerboard of pixels to reduce the effective brightness?
