In the US, looking for the next FD - Note 7 Questions & Answers

Title pretty much says it, I'm in the US and want to pick up another FD to replace the recalled phone. Not finding it at the usual places or even a "available soon" place to order from. Anyone have a reputable source that is offering the second gen FD?

LOL, well, at least he wasn't saying "fire department".

Yeah, think we have enough talk of fires around here. I've been seeing the revamped F's for preorder but not the FD.

I'm guessing you won't be able to purchase any phones until mid October. Everyone who has a phone needs a replacement first before they give new phones out to the masses.

I contacted couple eBay seller to get the FD model as well. They all told me 2 to 3 weeks.

Please advise where can I pre-order the revamped F?

The usual suspects, Clove, Handtec, come to mind, both showed it coming soon. Didn't notice if the F was going to be available at Expansys.

Have seen no indications so far that it's available anywhere (other than from importers like Expansys, etc.) either on pre-order or off the shelf. If VzW (or their resellers) have a surprise rollout planned for today or Monday, it's been the best-kept secret in the past 25 years.

No, the best kept secret is fight club. Why is it a secret you ask? Because, the first rule of fight club is no one talks about fight club because Chuck Norris invented it. You talk, you get roundhoused in the jaw.
not out yet. did see something online about a leaked marketing poster, showing $200 and Nov 29... but obviously don't quote me on that.
most tech blogs should have a post on it within the first hour its availible if it sneaks out. wish it would hurry... i'm getting anxious here.
Thanks guys.. hope it's out soon.
And I will be getting the unlocked version... (No Sprint, Verizon, etc...)

Be prepared to pay premium prices, however. Its not officially out, all stock coming from Europe.
All we know is Verizon supposedly launching soon (between now and mid Dec). There is no info at all about an official launch of the HSPA+ version in the US.
I broke down and ordered from Negri.

OMG Is my P605 a fake.

Just checked over my device and some you tube video posts.. a few things.
I got the P605 from ATGSM.com.
The box was sealed with sticker and all.
Inside the box there were no replacement stylus tips (as seen in all the you tube reviews)
Also the box does not look like any of the boxes i see in the reviews. I take it that the version they shipped me is originally the Hong Kong.
There were no specs on the box.
Did I get a fake...a clone....... What do I do now. I can post a pic of the box if you need to see it.
I need some serious help. I paid over $700 for this device. I just want to make sure its the real deal. Especially seeing how there are so many fakes out there. Please help.

Your box is not the same as the one in these video's, so I see what you are talking about. Besides the extra tips was anything else missing or different is your box? Your tamper sticker looks like it was placed over another one, what do you think when you look at it?
Can you post more photo's like side label and front of your box.

I bought a P605 via Negri Electronics a couple of weeks ago, and it was in an identical box to the one in your picture. My box also didn't have any spare stylus tips. Also had a Hongkong style adapter, which Negri provided a US adapter in the outer package.
I suppose the HK version just doesn't come with spare tips?
It seems real to me.

You can chill out, HK SM-P605 doesnt have extra stylus tips and the box is geniune. I bought myself from ebay and the box looks exactly same and there were no extra stylus tips too in the box. Here u can se for u self HK version box: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=20037026123
HK version is SM-P6050ZWETGY and you can see it by download Phone Info from playstore.
One thing is, u must choose HK, first time start the tab, or u will miss out 900HK dollar worth contents gifts, well if u want them and there were no special really. http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/consum...e-tablet/SM-P6050ZWETGY?tabname=content-gifts

I bought my N-8000 and SM-P601 from Negri and had no issues. The only problems I heard regarding the N3 and Negri was that some carrier devices they sold, mostly T-Mobile, that had their IMEI's reported stolen after people received them and started using them. Since Negri doesn't build devices and most of what they sell is grey market and imported from other countries they are kind of at the mercy of their suppliers. As far as I know they stood behind the devices with bad IMEI's and replaced or refunded them. If you're in the U.S. and buying a SM-P601/5, no matter who you're buying it from, you're taking a chance as to its origins, condition, and country of sale (which can't be the U.S. because neither is sold here). And know that none of them have a Samsung warranty because they're grey market. Negri, Expansys, and NewEgg are the biggest sellers of Samsung grey market devices in the U.S. and I've purchased from all three. My experiences have been fine but I've heard complaints (some horror stories) on all three. With grey market goods there's no such thing as Best Buy. And Amazon doesn't count; all their unlocked devices are sold via marketplace sellers.

They were selling used as new
They were selling stolen as new
They were selling phones with the seals broken that were still locked as unlocked and new
They were selling Phones that were rooted as new

This is just a small list of the things they pulled
If you read the TMO Note 3 thread thread, I don't know how you would do business with them, absolutely despicable.

I'd read the thread before I bought my P-601 from them. All their Samsung HSPA devices come from the Samsung dealer in Trinidad. They had the P601 before anyone else reselling them in the U.S. did and it arrived in its shrink wrap and was perfect. The shrink wrapped Trinidadian N-8000 I got last year arrived with a bad display. Negri paid return shipping and overnighted me a new one (which was perfect). I asked where their LTE P-605's came from and they said Asia. I personally am not interested in any Asian-sourced imports because the s/w and Hub access are funky when used in the U.S. Software wise, Trinidad and Latin America are the most compatible. That's why I got a P-601. When people ask me where to buy Samsung grey market devices I mention the three company's above. I share my experiences (and the horror stories, lack of warranty, and other risks) and tell them to avoid PayPal (Amazon Payments is an option with Negri) and use a "customer friendly" credit card like Amex. I'm sorry some people got burned over the N3 but it doesn't change my positive experiences.
Same problem but got the solution.

Wouldn't mind knowing myself, took a punt on the LG Watch R at the weekend, which is nice but would prefer the Zen. I have it preordered at Expansys at the moment, got in while they were taking orders rather than just the register interest page they have up now.
I had some interest in LG G Watch R because of the circular display but I think the watch is a bit too chunky. Will have a look at expansys

I'm currently using the LG Watch R and had the same thoughts as you, but it's not as bad as I imagined it would be. However I still have my preorder with Expansys and will decide on which one I want to keep once it arrives. Hopefully soon!
Hi all,
I pre ordered mine here: http://www.expansys.fr/asus-zenwatch-eu-265396/
Please note I'm from France.
Anyone got any news with UK release? Hopefully comes before Christmas so I can get myself a Christmas present
Noticed this morning that Simply Electronics list this on their site for £184.95. Also that they've got 5 in stock and make no mention of it being imported. Considering a UK launch date or price hasn't been announced (that I know of) I'd be very sceptical.
UPDATE: A glance at some Google Shopping reviews suggests they might not be on the level.
they are based in HK and have some very dodgy reviews - actually rang them this morning asking whether it is uk stock and this wasn't clearly answered. I then asked about customs duty and they just said its an all inclusive price - bollox. Expect duty and RM charges on top....
I actually remember I nearly bought a camera off this lot a couple of years back but they aren't exactly truthful about location of item or taxes etc - means you'll pay customs and it'll be regarded as a grey import without warranty.
I think its sad that ASUS are dragging their feet on this. I've looked at big daddy in the US but again with their $40 fee and customs, its getting expensive!
Need an american friend to buy and send as a gift!
Anyone heard anything more on the UK release?
Avoid Simply B'S they are HK based

I decided to try se after I discussed at length where the watch was coming from (uk or abroad) , the warranty, etc. I was told it's coming from the UK. Has a UK se warranty. Ordered last week and the amount of bull I've been fed since is unreal. Been told due to amount of orders they should be able to post it by mid December! Even though they originally said 10 days..... I queried why it should even take 10 days?! They are full of sh.....
If and when it arrives, if it's not a UK warranty, I will charge it back through my credit card as I will have been mis sold the item according to trading standards. Mmm I will then follow up with trading standards and ensure they are put out of business based on their mis-sellibg practices... At least in the uk/as a UK seller.
Anyway, still no UK date grrr

Don't order from Simply Electronics. The product they have is not certified anywhere and is dodgy. They quote low prices to draw people in and you very stung after. I got taken in by the cheap price if a macbook air but it wasn't European certified or certified by America FFC. They're customer services is rubbish and they don't reply and when they do they try to get you to keep the product at a reduced cost. I had to complain through PayPal and eventually got all my money back. Lesson learnt. They are based in HK but have warehouses in UK and Europe. If you ever do order then be wary as they're not that easy in returning and will try to get away with charges to deduct from the amount you paid on receipt of a return. I would suggest you all keep away like you would with the plague!! All the reviews online are rubbish and are made up to make them look good.

Expansys have changed from a "keep me notified" page to a pre-order page. I don't know whether that's due to a site relaunch (can't recall whether I've seen that design before), or whether it's changing.
BTW, for a while now, I haven't seen Simply listed on the Google Shopping page when searching for the Zenwatch.

I pre ordered back in October but nothing since then obviously. Dunno if I should pre order again! Had a price when I first did it. £159.98 is the price that was given.
Just looked on simply be and it's on their site for pre order just under £200 - site has changed a lot since I made that horrible mistake of ordering from them a while ago.

I have a zenwatch in my possession in the UK. It was ordered from the US via Big Apple Buddy. I ordered it on Friday 5th December at around 2100, paid by PayPal and had it - with shipping & tracking information and regular updates - delivered by FedEx by 1030 on Monday 8th December.
The total cost was around $285, including service charges, but felt this was still pretty good value in the realm of early adoption, given the interminable wait for the damn thing to reach the UK.
I can vouch for the fact that Big Apple Buddy are entirely safe and reputable.
And the watch? Well worth it, especially with 5.01 sideloaded.
I looked at them^ but they came back much more expensive than this!
I've just ordered a Gear VR from Samsung US using .comGateway - very reasonable $20 plus postage.

Darn now that production of the note 7 has stopped. I'm wondering if I need to get a refund for my order. My phone is in the mail I have yet to receive it. Has anyone tried returning the phone back to mobyshop?
Should i refuse to accept and have it sent back to seller?
I loved the note series but if this is the end of the note 7. I may not want to buy a new unsupported device that may become obsolete in the coming days.
Anyone else in the same predicament? Thoughts?

It's a damn shame, they were great to deal with and the Note7 is the best phone I've ever used by far.

Please keep us updated. I just received the phone today. But I'm not going to be using it til i get clarification if there will be continued support for the note 7 or if it's done.
I'm still using the original note 7 ver.1 lol. Got the replacement ver.2. Then sold it because i wanted an exynos instead of the snapdragon. Was gonna send out ver.1 after I got the safe exynos version.
And now im stuck with the phone through an international seller lol.
Please keep us posted on how it all plays out with mobyshop as id be interested on how they would deal with us international buyers.

Looking for N930FD model

I'm looking for a silver or blue N930FD model. No 60% blocked battery.
Just out of curiosity what are the diff between models say for instance the N930FD and my N930FZ? is it just one uses Snapdragon and the other uses Exynos?

Mine is a Dual Sim Snapdragon N9300, not an Exynos N930FD.

not really.... FFA law doesn't work in EU . E U has own law. Companies like DHL must obey law of country they work in. It doesn't mean they cannot have they own rules. About flying... I'm pretty sure what I'm taking about from my own experience. I was flying from London to Berlin and I asked if I can carry my phone with me. There was no problem at all. For me personally it means how big mess it is right now about the whole situation... and to add insult to the injury... I gave to samsung details they wanted about my note 7 and nobody contacted with me since then (over 2 weeks) so they shouldn't expect people switch off their phones and be waiting for any move from samsung forever..

Well, it doesn't matter actually because it was airport security who allowed me to take phone with me not airline itself. There is no more security after that so I think I could fly with any airline...
Just to clarify it: I asked about it out of curiosity but eventually I didn't take phone with me mainly because Berlin wasn't my final destination and I didn't want to ask permission every airport and didn't want to smuggle it. Besides even if I think my phone is safe it doesn't mean it is and I can take risk of using it at home not in a plane among other people...

No. He is located in the U.S. and he bought them from Singapore. @javier24 is in Spain. He won't be able to ship them on an airplane. Only via ground/sea

Thread cleaned. You can't come to xda to sell things so I'm closing this thread. If people want to buy or sell a device that has been recalled then that's upto them but you can't do it on xda
