Recovery reboot - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone.
I have a weird problem with my d855.
I have installed the new port we have here for android 7.0.
The problem is now that I've flashed it I can't access recovery.. What happens is this:
I hold power button and volume down. Release when the lg logo shows and then hold again. As per usual.
Instead of twrp I see the green android with the red exclamation sign, then a black screen and the same happens.
What I can gather from the split second is this :
No command.
Supported api 3
Can't mount cache/recovery
That's it.
By the way the system itself work perfectly.. Only the recovery is broken.
Hope you can help me and thanks alot.

You can try flashing the twrp again.

MY phone appears to be dead

Was updating my phone, was running on Spazedog downloaded the wifi fix. Went to recovery to try and install aid it was successful. Clicked reboot and now it appears it's as useful as a brick.
Plugged it in no led activity. Press power button screen flickers on and shows the pink loading circle then shuts itself down. Tried to boot into recovery and it flashes and turns off again. Any ideas of what to try ?

Try any of the following-
1. Pull the battery out and see if it boots.
2. Use your recovery to upload the latest build supplied (which includes your wifi fix) and flash it
3. Check your SD card is corrupted. Replace it, if its kaput
4. Mount your SD card thru recovery, and load a stable GB ROM and check if its working. You can flash a ICS ROM later after a clean wipe.

Onda v712 I got stuck in upgrade process

Hi all,
I'm really stuck, cannot find a decent tip on the web anymore and need help!
Problem:
Onda v712 tablet is not starting anymore. I can press the "on" button and the only thing that happens is a backlight that turns on.
History:
1. I ordered the onda tab from a webstore in china and it worked great
.... only the market was not working and I could not get rid of the chinese apps that were pre-installed!
2. So I needed to get the superuser rights and install a new ROM. I followed a guide on the web that was for my device:
**New** Root and Full Working Play Store and Google Apps/Root-Explorer Google it and you wil find it (I cannot post a link)
3. In the recovery mode I started the upgrade and it started to run, first ok, then a error about the patch.zip the device rebooted and ended up
stuck in the start splash screen. On my tab it follows after the white android robot image. I waited a while but nothing happened. Everytime I
booted I ended up at the same screen.
4. Usb was not connected anymore and I didn't know any other way to get into recovery other then (adb reboot recovery command from my
laptop)
5. Found a tip on the www that described a button combination for the recovery mode. I pushed the home button and the reset button for 10
seconds. It rebooted and "something" happened because from this moment on no white android robot was shown anymore. I got stuck with
only a backlight or very expensive bad working mirror!!
Everything that I can try from here is very welcome. :good:
Sub questions:
I like to find out how to get into recovery mode again. (what button combination is it)
I also like to know when a tablet/phone is really bricked and how you know it for sure.
I managed to get out of my deadlock!
Somewhere on the web i found this tip about how i could get into recovery:
Next I held down the HOME button while pressing the Reset button for 8-10 seconds.
Keeping the HOME Button down, I them pressed the Power button and held it until I saw the White Android.
Releasing only the Power button I held the HOME button for 4-5 Seconds longer.
The White Android changed to a Big Green Android with some rotating shape in front of his chest.
From there i upgraded succesfully to 4.1.1 and firmware v2.0

Bootloop, Can't get past warning screen in download mode

Hey Guys
So my friend gave me a Note 2 with 4.1.1 that's stuck in safe mode.
So i tried installing TWRP to install a KitKat rom, but i forgot to format data "stupid me :\"
anyways at first it booted till the part where it's "optimizing apps"
after it got to "finishing boot" it rebooted and, well, it's stuck in a bootloop.
so i tried getting into recovery by pressing the 3 buttons, it just continues with booting into the bootloop.
then i tried getting in download mode, it gets to the warning screen, but it refuses to continue when i press the volume up button :|
any help?? thank you

perhaps try to reboot you phone by long press power button...
if you could get the phone to be recognized by adb then you could use:
adb reboot download
to get to download mode.
Just a reminder:
TWRP :Vol Up + Home + Power (Release Power Button when samsung logo appears, keep holidn Vol Up + Home untill you see TWRP )
Download Mode: Vol Down + Home + Power, then press up when warning appears.
Hope this helps.

What did you flash, what error does it display, is it "secure boot error", which version of g3 do you have, can you access recovery, do you have TWRP...?

i used ioroot to root the g3 (D855), and i flash with twrp-2.8.0.0_d855-signed.img. Yes i believe it was the secure boot error. After that the notifications lights at the topped flashed blue and red i turn the device ofd to restart and it will not turn on i have tried both to get into the recovery menu (power+vol down) and download menu (power+vol up) neither of which is working.

Ok... Lets start with battery pull in and out.
Even if you do recive secure boot error for booting to the unbumped recovery you should be able to boot to the OS, try with that.
If this fails, do the battery pull again and lets try to get you to the download mode. The way you specified (power+vol down) is incorrect I belive. What you need to do is hold the volume button WITHOUT the power button which will be followed by connecting the device to the PC with installed LG drivers.
If that works you could flash stock files, follow the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
Check in device manager how is the phone detected what mode ...

Does it get into download mode? For this one get the battery out and wait 2 secs. Plug it back in. Be sure to have an USB Cable ready plugged in the back of the PC (NOT IN FRONT HUB and be sure to be the original Cable). Hold Volume UP and Plug the cable. Keep holding Volume UP until you see download. Tell me if you see the Firmware Update screen or it is a security error.

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Please wait while I connect you to the appropriate forum (below) where your device experts can be found:

For what it's worth, I think your stock recovery is still functional even with the flashing exclamation point. All you will need to do is download a full version of the stock ROM, rename it to MOFDSDUPDATE.zip, place on an SD card and boot the phone into recovery.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
