This "error" is caused by a rooted phone and the latest appupdate. Unroot the phone and you can play the game again. https://support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com/hc/en-us/articles/221958248

I've checked with ROOT CHECKER and actually says it is not rooted, but the problem is there, so the solution is not to unroot the phone because it isn't... Sooooo any advice for all the people who are suffering this problem?

No, I have tried that, something else (I think unofficial ROM) is causing it to fail.

Still no fix?
I'm using Blueflames Cyanogenmod and find a way to make PG working on my rooted P8000.
1. Install SManager from Playstore.
2. Download the attached Script from cyanogenmod forum.
3. Check if the path to the su binaries is correct.
4. If it is not running, try to set the Script in non daemon mode. If it's working than edit line 6 of the Script from if['$1"!="-D]; then to if['$1"="-D]; then. This is how the script works on Blueflames Cyanogenmod.
5. Add the Script to SManager and enjoy.
Most Questions that can come up are answered in the thread at the cyanogenmod forum.

Which Superuser app do you use? Somehow I don´t get it to work

I use the cyanogenmod built in super user app, but it should work with Chainfires SU too.

I just don't get it to work it would be super awesome if you could Upload your edited Skript. Probably it could solve it

That simple app worked for me
"root switch" apk from https://www.asus.com/zentalk/tw/for...wNDk1fGJmMjhjZGZifDE0NzY0MDUzNjB8MHwxNzM1NDI=

Okay, it's update time.
This night there comes the PokemonGo 0.43.4 and the previous work around with the script will not work any longer.
So there are two ways afaik, that make PoGo work again.
1. If simply SuperUser on a stock ROM installed, you may have luck with the latest 'root switch' , version 1.3.3.2, from chakalaca at zentalk
http://www.asus.com/zentalk/tw/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=173542&page=37#pid962740
2. Use the latest Magisk, that will make it too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Download the Magisk Manager and the latest phh SuperUser and install the zips with TWRP or any other recovery.
Now comes the tricky part.
You have to remove every other sign of SuperUser from other installation. Often it is enough to use the unroot option of the installed SuperUser app, but if you have Cyanogenmod, or an Cyanogenmod based ROM, installed you need to remove the su binaries by hand. Best way for me is, to remove the su binaries use the recovery and adb. The su binary is located in /system/bin or /system/xbin. You need to mount the sytem partition rw but that should be an easy task with TWRP. And, Cyanogenmod Users, don't forget to disable builtin root first.
Cheers

do there is a way without root ?
and if not, do there is a way to root without recovery?
please reply

PoGo should work, if there is really no root. You can check with a file manager of there is a su binary in /system/bin or /system/xbin.
If there is a su binary, you need to delete it.

[APP] One Click Root/UnRoot I9000 (Eclair and Froyo) Mac and PC

Team,
This One-Click Root process will copy over the rooted-update.zip or unroot-update.zip file then reboot your phone. Follow the instructions in the CMD prompt that launches.
Rooting adds the following to your 2.1 Eclair system and unrooting removes them:
/system/xbin/busybox (version 1.17.1)
/system/xbin/su
/system/app/Superuser.apk (version 2.3.1)
and links /system/bin/su to /system/xbin/su

Requirements: Dot Net Framework version 4: Click Here
Rooting Instructions:
1. Make sure your phone is on USB Debug mode: (MENU > Settings > Applications > Developement > USB debugging = Checked )
2. For Windows x86 and x64 systems make sure that the Samsung Drivers are installed. You can get them here.
3. Extract the contents of GalaxyS_I9000_One-Click_Root.rar to a folder.
4. Connect your phone to your PC via the USB cable and launch the file "Galaxy S I9000 One-Click Root" file.
5. Based on the version of the Operating System you are running, click the "One-Click Root 2.1" button for Eclair or "One-Click Root 2.2" for Froyo Warning: Not Both!!. This will launch a command prompt follow the instructions in the CMD window.
Done! You are rooted.
Mac Instructions:
Download the app: here, mirror.
It requires Mac OS X 10.5 or higher.
Rooting Instructions:
1. Make sure your phone is on USB Debug mode: (MENU > Settings > Applications > Developement > USB debugging = Checked )
2. Connect the phone to your computer.
3. Eject both the internal and external SD card from your computer and turn off USB storage in the notification area.
4. Click one of the buttons depending on what you want to do.
5. After the phone has rebooted into recovery select "apply sdcard:update.zip" for I9000 and I9000M and choose "Reinstall Packages" for the US models using the volume keys and then press the home button for I9000 and I9000M and the power button on the right top side for US models to start the process.
=====================================================================
Done! You are rooted.
=====================================================================
UnRooting Instructions:
To UnRoot follow the same instructions except click on the Unroot button. If you rooted using another process you can use this process to unroot as long as you didnt load a rom that created links to busybox. I would suggest to restore you phone back to stock ROM before even needing to unroot and if you are on stock unroot all you want otherwise what is the point of unrooting.
=====================================================================
Getting Started with Android After Rooting:
Superuser app issue: Found out the issue with Superuser App crash. If you install new superuser 2.3.1 the app will crash if you click on the Info Tab. The first Time you One-Click Root you will need to run something as superuser which will add an item the superuser will track then the Info Tab will not Force Close and will display details of the tracked app requesting root access. New Superuser bug but easily ignored.

From the title: (Eclair and Froyo)
So I guess its for 2.2 also.
Will this work on any build in 2.1? Does this have superuser + busybox?
Very nice.
Does ist work with JP1 / JP2 /JP3? Anyone have tested?
Other Kits go back to JP2 to root and after back to JP3.
Ive finished updating the OP.
I got the root for 2.2 from hani1980's post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737817
The root for 2.1 and 2.2 contains busybox, su and Superuser.apk.

You are correct. I haven't tested this yet, but with the latest JP3 you can not get root by simply applying update.zip. You need to switch back to JP2 kernel and then copy over busybox and su. Then flash JP3 when done again. I do not think this tool does that... I can't see how all of that can be automated.

No SDK needed. adb is included in the download.
Just need Drivers installed and .net framework4.
Look at requirements above. then follow the steps.
Hope this helps.
Cheers for that! That was simple.
Thanks You!!!
How did you manage to automate the method when rooting JP3? I can not see how this can be automated.

Use the method described here, it will root JP3: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showpost.php?p=47625300&postcount=979
Root for jp2, am I wrong?
I'd say wait for CM6. Then flash it from rom manager when its out should not be much longer. But I do know and love the adventurous.

Read the OP again, maybe even the whole thread (it's only two pages after all) - he says it's not tested with JP3 and that it's not automated for it either...
Oh, and while I'm being facetious, you may as well learn to use the "Edit" button rather than double post

Sorry about the double post.
If you read through the thread you will find out that the OP replied to a guy who apparently wanted to get it working on JP3. Therefore I also asked the OP how he made it or if work for JP3. He has not replied to that, so I suspect he is only using the "flashing update.zip" method - which will not work with JP3. So, I did read the OP, you just misunderstood the problem

You must run that tool to full root your phone, if you don't, you will still have auto reboot if you want to use folder mount or link2sd.
So far this is the best ROOTING method EVER..
Thanks for sharing this !
I read somewhere it works on all android devices.. is it TRUE?

No, this method work just for android without master key bug patch, because this method use that bug to exploit the su binary and luckily sony not patch that bug.
strange when I tried to root, a dialog box appeared saying "Device not found". Any advice? thanks
Edit: I suspect I need to install the Sony companion software to get the drivers! My first sony phone
Edit 2: Yes, that was the problem! Thanks for the rooting tip!

This method has fully rooted my Xperia™ M Dual C2004.
I just used this Application and then used ES File Explorer to Mount R/W and viola! No reboot problem.
EDIT : THIS WILL NOT GIVE FULL ROOT. FOLDER MOUNT CAUSED REBOOT. BUT AFTER APPLYING THE PATCH FROM [NUT] EVERYTHING IS FINE.
Unroot
Is there also a method on how to unroot? For warranty concerns just in case

You can unroot, there is an option 'full unroot' on SuperSU settings.

Full Root
I just bought my Xperia M C1905 today, is this full root? Or not? Or will become full root after using Tool by Anto Kus? :highfive: One more thing, does it matter which FW version is installed? I currently have 15.1.A.1.9 but there is an update 15.1.C.2.3 and before I root this, I want to get that update. Please advise.

Update first, then root and use the tool

Hi, thank you very much for this tool, it really is the simplest.
I noticed that I get adverts in my apps now, but I have all the ad-blockers installed. I tried the update fix as well. Previously, I used V-root which definitely did give enough permission to block ads. Has anyone else experienced this i.e. some root issues?
I did try uninstalling everything and retrying a few times but it's still the same.

No, I didn't faced any such problem.
But ya this didn't gave me full root without usin the tool by [NUT].
So this method, as stated in the op itself, helps in rooting but isnt a complete root.

Hi Brother
There Are 2 Methods To Root Your Phone
First
1 Unlock Your Bootloader (You Should Go To HtcDev.Com And Follow Their Steps)
2 Flash TWRP RECOVERY With ADB
3 And Then Flash SuperSU.Zip
The Second Method
1 Download KingRoot App
2 Open It And Hit Root!
But My Choice Is Method 1
Cause Then U Can Make Nandroid Backup And Etc.
Then,A55 Is HTC One E9+
But, A53 Is HTC One E9
If You Have Any Question, I'm Glad To Help You!
There's another option - go to HTCdev to unlock your bootloader, It's a simple procedure, then find a TWRP for your device (mine is A55ML), and go to Magisk thread. Flash Magisk as per instructions - it has it's own built-in root and init.d simulator. The best part is that Magisk will let you run everything in systemless mode - with Magisk you'll have root, xposed, busybox, and various other modules. All of them without touching the system partition. It's very easy to unroot if you decide to do so for some reason. I even got to install Viper Audio. Also there's module that enables writing on external sd card. Since i got Magisk i got to modify a lot of things with systemless xposed. Good luck!

true, but i never had the need to use lucky patcher anyway. I'm sure there's other options. With the lack of a custom rom for this phone, Magisk is the closest you can get in modding your device without brick it. I mean, most of the stuff is systemless so less chance to brick it. With all the xposed goodness only option i miss in MM is a doze. Currently i have 27 xposed modules.

Careful! Apps like Lucky Patcher are not very welcomed over here. There's plenty of free apps to try. Personally i'm using AIMP with Viper Audio. It works miracles compared to built-in options. Oh, and xposed modules i currently use: Adblocker, All notifications expanded, Amplify, App settings, Always expandable notifications, Awesome pop-up video, Clarity, DS Battery saver, Fix LP Memory leak, Greenify, Handle external storage, Notification manager, Sense Toolbox, Xinsta, Youtube adaway, Youtube background play. That's the ones always active. And i play many more to try them out. The list grows with time.

I'm currently using E9pw_Android5.0_Sense70_E1 rom with TWRP v2.860, and to be honest the ROM is decent but that's all to it. i tried in the past to install xposed but failed multiple times. I saw your comment on Magisk and i was wondering if i could install it on my ROM as well.
what ROM are you using currently? is it an updatable ROM?

Ok. And a fair warning - Everything you do is on your own risk. I'm not responsible if you brick your device. As that being said, i'll give you links and tell you exactly what i did to make it work.
First and most important - do yourself a favor - make a complete backup in TWRP.
I see you're using old version of TWRP, here's the new one - it works way better. https://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/one-e9/recovery-twrp-recovery-3-0-0-1-t3321147
Flash the image trough recovery and reboot into recovery to load the new one. Now you can do a new backup with the new recovery or just move on. I did a new recovery - it might be a slower way to do things like that but it is way safer like that.
Next - Magisk, https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Download latest Magisk, and uninstaller as well, put them in the root of your sdcard. Download xposed and it's uninstaller from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268
In recovery flash Magisk and then xposed. Reboot and you're good to go. You might want to clear cache and dalvik/art. At least that's the way i did it. Magisk installs it's own systemless root so no need for searching for SuperSU or other. Whatever happens - TWRP will say there's no root and will ask you to install - do not do that. Magisk will root your phone but TWRP can't detect it - never install other root if you do install Magisk!!!
With magisk and xposed installed in systemless mode it's up to you what other modules you will use.
There's another way to do that but i never used it. Download the Magisk Manager app from play store and it offers to do everything from within the app.
If everythig goes well go say thanks to the devs in their threads. Don't thank me - i just save you time not to search thing all over the XDA.

I Suggest You NOT To Use Magisk
You Can Say Why...?!
Cause With Phh Superuser You Can't Use Many Things, For Example To Make A Swap File For Ram By Ram Expander And Something Else.
The Only Point That Magisk Have, It's About Viper4Android Fx, But Htc Devices Speakers Are Great Without It Too.
Other Point Is To Be Systemless, But If You Are Very Sensitive On Your Device, Make A Nandroid Backup, And Enjoy Your Full Controlled Device.
If You Are Worry About OTA Updates, Don't Worry, If HTC Release Updates, Just Flash Your Boot Image, Recovery Image And Then System Image By ADB, Then Check For Updates, Let Phone Update, And Then Install TWRP And More...!
Good Luck!

[HELP] Magisk question

Hi!
Yesterday i did fresh install / ROOT my RN8P (EEA - V11.0.3.0.PGGEUXM) after long time and i installed magisk V23 (to test if Magisk hide working yet on some app) but when im tryed to
install SafetyNet (V 2.1.1) it tell me to install Riru but to install Riru now i have to install Magisk V24 altleast.....
So my question is...its better i install again last version of magisk (V25.2)?
There is any module that working like magisk hide? i was out of modding for some month so im not up to date yet....
Any answer will be apprecitated ty!
Yes, I prefer installing Magisk 25.2 as it comes with Zygisk which hides itself from other apps.
If that still doesn't works then you can install Shamiko. A module for Zygisk which hides root completely from the device.
If your device doesn't pass the SafetyNet test after installation then it's probably because of the Magisk patched image flashed into the device since nowadays apps can detect if it's a stock android or not.
But I am pretty sure that there are other modules to hide that too.

- Ok ty so much! so its better im upgrade to last version because its better then v23?
- The problem of installing SafetyNet on V23 its because u need to install Riru that dont support anymore the V23!
So u need to upgrade mandatory to V24 wich make it useless because the last version its better then V24!
PS
I has already had installed v25 but some game detect it and dont let me play that why i downgrade to V23...

Hey!
Sorry for the late reply.
Well for safety net check you have to update the app or simply it isn't available for your device.
You can download the official SafetyNet check app from Playstore.
For ramdisk it depends on your Firmware.

Magisk Patch blocks the Google Framework for some time that's why most of the time it is suggested to complete the setup without internet.
For ramdisk your device might not have one but it shouldn't be a problem.
Do you have TWRP installed?

I don't think that you have to root it again.
It is going to get fixed in a couple of time.
I had suggest you would Install Orange Fox since old stuff results in Faulty.
The TWRP 3.6.1 is better for nt8pro
