You need to flash stock rom through SP flash tools to update your device. I encountered the same problem and this was the solution I came up with

flash latest security patch with root?

Any way to obtain and flash it with a rooted stock TMobile z2 force?
I have an International Moto z2 and the only way was to reflash the latest stock image to get the september security patches OTA (follow return to stock tutorial by Uzephi). After updating the system with the latest patches I had to reflash TWRP and root. Worked fine but I had to reconfigure all my settings
I haven't found any other solution

OTA update on custom kernel

Hi,
would like to ask some question.
Currently i am on october ota android 10 with sultan kernel
How do i update my pixel with November OTA.
Are there any shortcut to update the OTA without wiping my data.
Thanks.
Flash Nov. factory image without -w (wiping), then boot to twrp and reflash kernel followed with magisk
Thats what i did and what i usually do to update every month, im in same situation as yours, stock october firmware with sultan kernel
All data and apps and magisk modules stay the same as they are

Is it possible to revert back to older firmware or flash older modem on rooted device

I am on baseband CTC7/build CTC9 (April security patch) rooted with magisk
1. is it possible to flash newer firmware and revert back to CTC7/CTC9 or older firmware if needed?
2. is it possible to only flash newer magisk_patched with older modem file?
The thing is, you can flash firmwares with a bootloader version equal or higher than the currently one installed, that's it, no way around it

Rooting failed for Android 12 May update

I own a SM-G986B S20+ Ultra. I was running the first build of Android 12 with Magisk Root Access. I decided to upgrade to May 2022 Android 12 update. I updated my Magisk, downloaded the proper Android 12 May update for my phone, patched the AP File with my Magisk and then I flashed BL, AP, PDA, CSC using ODIN. Now I am flashed with May 2022 update but there is no Magisk installer in my new Rom. Is there some another version of Magisk that must be used for patching the AP file this time?
