How does one determine their manufacturing date on the device?

I just recieved my replacement. It's been just over a month since Samsung released the Galaxy Tab S . I want to determine if this is the second wave of tabs being distributed
When I bought my Asus Transformer TF701T. The month it was built, showed up in the serial number. With the third number being the month it was built.
Can we tell with this device?

Does it seem to perform better or the same? Others who have had their units replaced seem to be reporting positive results. Since this is a hot seller it would make sense the new unit is from a more recent run.
No idea on the date thing. You probably need to call Samsung direct on that. Maybe something in the Pro forum would know as they likely use a similar SN scheme.

Anyone? So is it safe to say that Samsung doesn't provide such information?

I've been able to figure it out in the past with other samsung devices but have yet to do so with the TAB S. I haven't found anyone else that knows this at the moment.

In the meantime if you go to samsung's site and input your serial # under register your product it'll tell you the manufactured date. Mine is 06/01/2014 so I'm guessing this is part of the first batch. I know when you startup the Tab for the first time it suppose to automatically register it after you log onto your samsung account but you can still just input the serial# this will give you the date. I can only guess the 5th digit is the month but am not 100% sure. I'll keep looking into it.

The samsung book cover I have here was manufactured in May 26th. Not sure if this means that there was a run for the TAB S before June 1st.

Right under the box where you input your serial #. Shows up in small font as you'll see in the picture below.

It happens... Same thing happened with the G2, Z, and a few other devices. Verizon had a BOGO after the initial release of the M8. The case isn't the one with charging and it's a snap on(doesn't replace the back).

First off... Calm down... Secondly. Try calling Customer Care and CALMLY tell them the situation. They might send you one (can't guarantee it) if you just bought it recently....

If you try this, let me know if it works

I spoke to a representative and she wasn't able to do it even though I'm a new customer. She says promotional vary all the time and unfortunately it wasn't being offered when I signed up and that there's nothing she can do. She even escalated it and was told no go.

I pre-ordered, but there is NO update as to how many orders they've received. I've seen no advertisements for this case anywhere. Unless they get a 1000 pre-orders they won't make the case. AND, what is very strange is they state on their site:
Special condition for production:
This case will go into production when 1000 pcs have been pre-ordered.
In the case we could not reach that amount or were not able to start a production, the money would be refunded.
Two questions spring to mind:
How many pre-orders have they had?
What is their cutoff date to refund pre-orders?
I've emailed them about both and there's been no response from them at all.

very odd i also emailed them regarding the issue of pre-orders and requested that they put a countdown on each device...they replied and stated that they cannot do that due to giving any competition any idea of their ammount they are selling,(which is kinda weird as the only competition i can see is project ara from google...anyways let's hope we can get a thousand oneplus preorders as i am looking forward to seeing this case up close n personal....

well this looks nice but i dont think ill be getting this, they should have them already made not a preorder and have 1000 people in order to start and ship. this looks like a scheme to me seeing how your paying right then and there and if you use paypal you only have 30 days to dispute after that your screwed, unless you use the BBB and even then you never know if you get your money back. to bad they have this 1000 ppl crap because i was ready to buy until i read your posts and their site. the reason the dont want to put it up there is because the order are low and if people see that they would not order, not having the count solves that and their lame excuse about competition is more of an evasive action.

I dunno. But i can tell you that if is true than 10 October finally I am going to grab this object, I will bring with me everywhere.
Nobody is succesfully traveling at the moment with the new sammy, on a fly that before were interdicting it?

Call a flight attendant a "hostess" and you'll have bigger problems than your Note7. I flew with my old pre-replacement Note7 turned off and on my tray table on American and Delta. No one noticed or cared. If they do notice or care I'd suggest printing out and carrying the following. You can also show them your device is OK using the Samsung+ app. I highly doubt you'll be asked unless a member of the flight crew is also a mobile device enthusiast.

fair enough Barry. Just last week i flew with Transavia, it was written at the moment of the check in, that I could not bring my note 7, not that I have to have a new eligible one. I really hope that Samsung, will manage this contacting every fly agency, because the Samsung target is also one that flies imo.

You could have flown with the old one.

Take your old receipt for the original and the new receipt for the new one. I doubt that could be argued with.
I totally sympathise with flight crew who are security conscience, if they apply rules to me I feel rather happy knowing they are just the same with all passengers and their has been a small problem with the Note 7 so at 11,000M I agree with very high security.
What concerns me is the attitude of a tiny minority who are refusing to change mobiles despite knowing the situation. Very selfish attitude especially as Samsung has agreed to change all 'old' devices.

Hi everyone! Just for development/testing and improving my S20+ I was wondering if there is a way to Overclock our beloved exynos? And maybe disabling temperature checks so I can do my testing more freely? Any help guys?

Are you aware of the samsung care plus subscription which allows you to change your phone if damaged or you want to upgrade, allowing you 2 swaps in 2 years.

If you were a 12 year old who just joined xda to get help destroying your phone, I wouldn't be surprised. But considering you've been a xda member for almost a decade, I'd expect you to have at least a modicum of maturity and sense to know that no one is going to help you commit fraud. If you hate that phone, then sell it. You'll lose money on it, but a mature person takes responsibility for bad choices. Xda does not promote fraud or other illegal activities. Find another forum for that.

Since this thread seems to be spiraling rapidly out of control, I think it best that we just shut it down here and now. If i may, whether or not you may agree or disagree with an OP topic, that is no reason to start making accusatory, or harsh statements towards one another.
