I just tried the free trial of Hulu plus for android. It's nice but what's suck about it is it doesn't offer all of the shows to be streamed in the app.
One of my shows is white collar, it's not offered in the app, anone knows how to make hulu work on web?

Plex and Playon both have hulu channels, which play through your PC. So whatever you can get on your PC should be available on your tablet/phone, but you would need wifi or 3G connection to your home pc. I prefer Plex, but haven't used it for hulu. With either app, you need to install an app on the PC and have it running, and also install an app on your tablet. Note I have not tried them on the Nexus 7 yet. Or on the Galaxy Nexus since the JB update either...
playon is fanastic for hulu!! plus u can watch ur shows from ur media player or pc on playon under my media! plus if u tether u can watch playon anywhere u go.
Install the beta XBMC app and add Bluecop's repo . You will find Hulu app there it works great !!
For more info you can goto xbmchub.com

Doesn't work, it plays the commercials but when it gets to the video it won't play it.

Hm, I can't get Hulu to play through Plex either... Not sure what's wrong with it. I haven't tested Playon, maybe that will work?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Ok, so I tested Playon too. Playon appears to work fine. Commercial played, then the show played. I only watched the first couple of minutes, but it seems fine. The only issue is Playon is not free. But you may get a free trial for long enough to use until one of the free solutions is updated to work on Jellybean. If not, google TV scripts for Playon, and install it as an add on for Hulu. It gives you access to a lot more than Hulu.

Hulu on nexus
I too am having the same problem. I would love to be able to get hulu web to work on here. I got XBMC, and Bluecop's repo, and I can get the commercials (which look great ), but not the actual content. Any more ideas, besides a streaming thing like Plex or Playon?

My problem isn't about if it's worth the money, it's that I don't want to have to have my computer up and on to watch.

Just an update: Hulu through Plex now works. Either the update fixed it, or unchecking GPU acceleration under developer options did. I suspect the latter, since that fixed my problem with another app.
But this is not a standalone solution, works through your pc.

Not in Plex, developer options is an android setting. I had GPU acceleration checked under developer options on the Nexus, which caused an issue with a different application. I unchecked it, and at the same time an update was released for the Plex android app. I updated Plex, and after that Hulu streaming worked. But I can't tell whether the update fixed my issue or if unchecking GPU acceleration fixed it.
(Also, keep in mind Plex is not a standalone app, it works through your pc.)

Hmm. I can't find the GPU acceleration setting in the developer options of android. But I can confirm the pled update didn't fix it, I just downloaded the newest version and hulu fails to play a video. Any more suggestions? Where exactly did you find the GPU setting?

oops, sorry, its called force GPU rendering. (I think. I have nothing at all checked under developer options any more.)
Its it just the Hulu channel that wont play? When you use the Plex app, does it connect to the Plex server? Can you play any videos or any other channels? Try to confirm that you are connected to the Plex server by playing something through it.

I just checked whether forcing GPU rendering would break it, and it had no effect. So I think the app update that fixed the Hulu channel. Unless, maybe a restart its required for the settings to take effect?

I'm still not sure.
I have nothing checked in the developer thing either, and I am able to stream other movies from my home computer. Sometimes. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it gives me "There was a problem with media playback". So I don't know what's going on. I'm running the latest version of the server on my mac, and Plex 2.2.0.6 from July 19th on my 7.
I don't know if any of this matters, but I am not rooted, and I only have the stock video player, and no codec packs, nothing extra or special on android. Sometimes little hiccups can be fixed by a reboot, so that's worth a shot. My Plex server is on windows 7 64bit, I don't know if that could make a difference. I assume that you can install a plex media player on the Mac too, and see whether or not the same thing happens playing hulu through that. At least that might help in figuring out if the issue is on the android or the desktop side. Good luck!

Still waiting on my Nexus 7 to arrive.
Was wondering, if your rooted and have one of the roms with the flash working, or you sideloaded to get flash working, are you not able to watch Hulu via the web browser to get your shows that only show via the www?
Just a thought.

I am unrooted, but have flash installed. The Hulu site detects that I'm trying to watch from an android device and tells me its not available for android devices.

i haven't had any issue with MXplayer.....although for some of my media, i had to use software decoding rather than hardware
You need to download the MXPlayer made for 4.3 from their homepage. Here is the link:
https://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen/download
I've had no problems, I have mxplayer set to s/w and have played movies from 1tb hard drive connected by otg...
It was crashing then I updated it today. Now it doesn't crash!
Upgrades are on Play store as of yesterday
After update, it works perfectly.
Hello all,
I just got my nexus 7 2013 yesterday! But if I update the newest version of YouTube, it will restart.
If I use any browser Chorme, Aosp, firefox , etc o play video clips from YouTube, or any video pages, it restarts.
I used to have problem with the camera also, but it was fixed with the new update! Has anyone experienced the same problems? And any suggestion to solve? Thank you

This is what I did:
Uninstalled New Youtube app, go back to old YouTube, and it works fine.
Deleted the old youtube and install the new one from play store => restart like crazy
Try to turn on "Force GPU 2D rendering", browsers could go a bit longer than 30 secs before restarting
Every browser has that problem.....
Camera, turned on, and restart, but in the newest firmware with the Q, it was fixed.
Apps like Vevo works normally.
Install Plants VS Zombies 2, restart every now and then

You could always try and go for a complete wipe and flash the Google stock image. I'm pretty sure that it'll be fixed then.

Can I flash stock image through CWM or TRWP?
I think nothing works until now! I bought this in the US, but I came back to Australia already! Cannot return since it is not officially sold in here!
I started thinking about the hardware problems
Hope no one will get bad experience from Google and Asus like me! What a waste of money!
Can only use it to surf web and something like that, multimedia functions are dead!
Anyway! I did a bad choice!

I've got very similar issues, any programs incorporating video randomly lock up and reboot the tablet. I've uninstalled the latest YouTube app and stopped it auto updating which seem to have stabilized that but stuff like Skype still lock up.
Brought mine back from the US to the UK and I'm going to try Asus support see what they say, otherwise I'll have to try rooting and maybe a custom rom in time.
Don't bother to root it! Just bring to Asus since it is official launced there! I rooted, tried a number of different roms, but still the same.
New error for me, flickering screen......
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Hi. Maybe someone has had the same experience and can help me. Recently I tried watching one of my purchased Play Store movies. I can not get it or any others to play. Either they do not play at all, I get an error with random numbers, or they play for 9 seconds then freeze. When they freeze at 9 seconds, the sound start making scratchy notices then it will loop back to 0 seconds and start over.
This is just on my Galaxy S3. Works fine on my Nexus 7. Also if I use my Galaxy S3 to stream to my ChromeCast it works fine.
I have looked online and xda for info and have found a few others cases, but no fixes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Play Movies. Cleared cache and data from Play Movies and others system apps. Remove/disabled any mods. Hid root. I'm currently on Wicked Sensations MK3, but it used to work on it. But just to check I have also flashed other ROMs including a Stock Rooted MK3. Thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas. Maybe I will go back to a MD4 ROM and see if it helps.

Not sure if anybody else is having this issue but whenever I try to play something on my chromecast with my G3 I get a systemui crash.
Never had this issue on my nexus 5 or my Z1 compact.
Anybody else experience this issue?
Thanks

I'm so glad someone brought this up...I thought it was only me at first. Was ready to flash it thinking it would fix it.
Anyone able to figure out how to fix it or should we just avoid casting anything on our G3 until theres a fix?
Well I get my phone Thursday so can take a look then if no one solves it before then.

ME TOO! That sucks! I thought it was just me. What are supposed to do - stop using a Google product on Google's OS?

Wait until they update the app its probably a incompatibility with the qhd screen....report it to them via app store and they should fix it in a couple days

Unfortunately it is not just a youtube related problem. If you have the chrome beta app you can stream and mp4 videos from the browser directly to the chromecast and it crashed then also.
Also BubbleUPNP crashes when streaming to the chromecast.
A similar bug was found in some early samsung devices which samsung fixed with a software update so I believe this is for LG to fix and not Google.
This is happening to me on my lg gpad that i just got an update for a couple days ago! Anyone have a solution, please post it. Tia

Can you guys recommend something like apple tv- just two clicks and I've got my phone on my TV or audio on amplifier. Something simple and compatible with whole OS not just with two apps ie youtube or gallery...
http://www.engadget.com/2014/06/25/chromecast-screen-mirroring/
Me neither. LG needs to check this out It's crazy. I'm tired of the battery pulls.
Is there anyone who are having these issues with Chromecast that are NOT rooted? Can someone confirm?
I'm not saying being rooted is the cause. That's stupid talk. I want to see if this is a feature LG breaks for rooted devices, or if this is simply a nasty bug. Some manufacturers do things like that, not that LG has a history of doing this (to my knowledge).
It's a bug in the LG software, nothing to do with root
