Hello guys,
I am a daily visitor to the "XDA Bible" but i have a problem with advanced search...
From about 30 hours I can not perform a search and tells me this error:
"Sorry, we encountered an error processing your request. Please go back and retry or wait a minute."
I tried to wipe cache and change browser but the problem persists... How can I fix the problem?! It also happens to you? Thanks community!

Is a bad thing, it can not do research for specific thread :crying: or categories...
Same thing. Searching a thread doesn't work since a couple days ago.
Says "Sorry, we encountered an error processing your request. Please go back and retry or wait a minute.
The Administrators have been notified of this error"
Apologies for the lack of reply guys. I believe the server geeks are looking into it now

Hi there,
I've just signed up so that I could reformat http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Dream_Boot_Image , but I can't seem to login to the wiki.
I've tried with Firefox 3.5 and Safari 4, both show the board software indicating a successful login, before redirecting back to the wiki where the login box is still present and "you need to login to edit.."
I tried clearing cookies for wiki.xda-developers.com, but it didn't help.
I am not sure, but probably you need to have a certain amount of Posts before you can update the wiki
Hmm, is there perhaps some way I can get around this? Really every question I have has probably been answered 100 times over, and asking them again just to generate credit seems a bit silly. The only thing I can help contribute to is organizing the existing information..
"To be able to create or edit pages, you need to be registered as a user at xda-developers.com. If you are not registered as a user then go to http://forum.xda-developers.com and click 'register' in the menu on the top of the page. Once you're logged in to the forum, you will automatically also be logged in here. If you have an xda-developers account but aren't logged in, simply click the 'sign in' link on the bottom of this page."
You should ask the admin in this concern.
Thanks corepda, Addicted2xda.
I'll see about finding an admin to ask. There is no 'sign in' link, only the standard phpWiki login box, which seems to be wired to the forum login script. However simply clicking the login button gives me a login failure (as per the paragraph you quoted), and entering my username+pw logs me in at the forum but not at the wiki..

Hmm, and you've been a member for over a year. Looks like something is broken. Anyone know who the admins are, or how to ask the forum software to message an admin?
Ok, I found the 'message admins' link and sent them a link to this thread. Yay!
Thread repoted to the staff, I am sure they will reply at the soonest to give you an appropriate reply. Good Luck.

Yeah i have had to get other users to edit the wiki when needed, but never thought to bring it up, so i'd guess it's accounts and not a xda wiki issue?
ok peeps,
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Dream_Boot_Image
You can see that i have been able to edit the said wiki. Can you give it another go and reply back here. If there is still a problem i will notify admin.

Same here:
Exactly what happens:
I'm logged into XDA i go to WIKI and choose article, click edit and the log in field pops up i enter my XDA login and it goes to the signing in pop up and loops back to the login.
I think the admins need to look into this.
I've asked Flar to get someone to look at it.
Dave
Hey Luke you are not allowed to edit WIKI because you didn't send me birthday pics.
LOL
matter is getting really hot. But I am able to edit wiki, not that much qualified to put anything that deserve change though.

Hi all,
Sorry for my late reply the issue escaped my attention.
I've been able to reproduce the issue with a test account, but am unable to fix it myself. I have notified our sysadmin and wiki admins and they will take a look at the issue as soon as possible.
Best regards,
Flar
i think it is ok that new members can't edit the wiki...i am able to do it and i posted a page few days ago so everything is ok from my point of view and the wiki is still editable
remember the wiki vandalism?
and when our ftp went down?
so don't rush to deal with it...it is just fine this way

1. This issue seems to have nothing to do with being a new member or not, my test account has the same issue and that's been here just as long as I have been.
2. Wiki vandalism has nothing to do with being a new member, a new member can just as well have useful info to share.
3. FTP downtime? what has that got to do with it? The last ftp downtime I could remember had nothing to do with new members but with us not scanning for viruses.
Best regards,
Flar

i know that new member doesn't stay for those who do things to wiki...but they potentially are a bigger threat than people who are here for ages...not saying that ivan will do but...there are a lot of crazy people who will sign in just to do damage
not specifically the last one...but things like the one that happened in 2005..someone bashed it..there is a whole thread about it

Sounds like there might be some problems in the Galaxy Nexus forums as they work fine elsewhere. Another similar issue to your first has already been reported. It might be worth mentioning these in the requests from users to mods & admins thread...

My question kinda answered itself.
Apparently everyone is able to send private messages, even users with less than 10 posts
EDIT: @roofrider
thanks for the info.

Everyone can send PM's, however, don't be surprised if your PM's asking questions that could have been found with an easy search are ignored by some members. Or tech support questions, many users simply ignore questions that aren't asked and answered in the public forum for all to benefit from.

If you would, please edit the title of the first post to include [SOLVED], save it, and then click on the little triangle report button in the upper left corner of the first post and ask for the thread to be closed as it has been solved? I promise to give you a thanks if you do this.
Thank you!
Hi there!
I can't quote other posts since a few days.
If I use the qick reply, I get to the advanced mode, showing the error
The following errors occurred with your submission:
This forum requires that you wait 20 seconds between posts. Please try again in 5 seconds.
Click to collapse
If I try to quote in advanced mode, the site is loading for 2 minutes and then I get a white page, without any error.
This happens as soon and only if I quote any other post. Without quoting everything works.
Whats wrong there?
Is it just me?
I think its better if you ask this here..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1976627
As you need to ask admins.. but I think @bitpushr handles this.. and he will check this thread as I mentioned..
From next time if you get such site related problems.. you can ask in that thread.

Hey, sorry for the off topic of sorts. It is to do with quoting though...
I've seen lots of posts where people quote something but their quoted area doesn't have the "Quote:" text preceding it. Can someone tell me how they do that?

If you mean about people having quote for some text without actually quoting anyone and with no "Originally posted by username"
Then its called "indent" tags.. you need to replace quote text and put indent in tags to get that..
Like [indent ] [/indent ]
Without spaces..
Or check this threads 10th post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974338
And click on bbcode there.. to get examples on various options on how to use them..

Sent from my EVO using the xda app
I'm finding that the past few days, every time I reply I get a Error saying that I must wait 20s between replies. If I go back, I see that the reply was posted. If I wait 20s, it will post a second time.
I'm using Chrome. This just started a few days ago. Everything seems to be trying to post twice.
Just a heads up that it could be widespread.
I posted this in the Recognized Developer forums, thinking it might get a better response, but was sent here.
Original Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475178
Searching I've also found this:

Could be related.
Double Post. Sorry.
Hi,
If you try the following workaround, you should be absolutely fine until the admins are able to fix the problem :
KidCarter93 said:
Instead of doing a Quick Reply, click Reply on any post of the thread you want to post in. Once the text box shows up, you can get rid of all the quoted text and then post your comment.
This should then only post your comment once. It's as if it tricks the system by thinking that you're replying to someone. Therefore, the error causing these issues must lie with the Quick Reply option.

As you mentioned, this issue appears to be fairly widespread as I've seen it mentioned, aswell as seeing it happen, by a multitude of users across a multitude of forums. It's strange how it doesn't effect everyone though.
Also, this bug isn't triggered if you were to use the xda app/Tapatalk.
Hope this helps
