Relock bootloader won't do any good for you. S-Off doesn't need a relocked bootloader to install 6.20.651.3 RUU.
Step 1 : install 6.20.651.3 firmware
Step 2 : install 6.20.651.3 RUU
You can get those on the same link in post #2 & #4

When ruu&fuu start, it write sending.... and nothing happen :/

[Q] Problem trying to flash Stock RUU

Hi,
So I'm trying to restore my HTC One X to stock. It was previously running a custom ROM. So far I've:
- Flashed stock recovery (as per http://www.androidauthority.com/one-x-revert-stock-recovery-76854/)
- Re-locked bootloader
- Check for correct RUU region (401) and downloaded the latest RUU (RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.31_R_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed) from androidruu.com
When I run the RUU exe I get
ERROR [132] : SIGNATURE ERROR
The ROM update Utility cannot update your Android phone
Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again
Tried a couple of times with the same result. Any ideas what's going wrong here?

Download this RUU 3.14.401.27 lock the bootloader and run the RUU as Administrator
you must install 3.14.401.27 before 3.14.401.31 you can't install directly .31 becouse you are not S-OFF
And don't forget when you are back to stock apply all update to upgrade your HBOOT to latest JB or to 1.39 in best way

[HELP] Wanted to unroot, tried a procedure and many problems. Please help.

Hello guys, so today i decided to unroot my phone and go back to stock because i want to sell it. I started doing theunlockr.com method (http://theunlockr.com/2014/06/08/how-to-unroot-the-htc-one-m8-video/) in the step of flashing stock nandroid backup, i flashed it using TWRP restore utility, then i didnt find any folder in the gallery and there was around 5 out of 16 GB avaialible only, so i did a "fromat data", since it erases everything, i pushed the firmware 4.16.401.10 using ADB into the TWRP folder (it wasnt there so i created a backup and there i found it). Then i restored the nandroid backup, now there are 4.5GB used which i cant find and some folders still dont appear in file manager... and i have wifi issues, it doesnt connect to wifi and neither does mobile data work. I need help as soon as possible. ANy help is MUCH apprecciated. Than you guys. and if there is any other way to completely unroot hope someone would help.
PS, i am planning to flash stock recovery, its just i want to fix the current problemss then i can flash stock recovery and lock the bootloader.

The easiest way to go back to stock is to run the appropriate RUU.
Download this RUU onto your PC.
When the download if finished, hook your phone up to your PC and double click on the download.
Follow the prompts.
Super easy.
This will bring you back to stock including your stock recovery. It will also wipe your phone.

Thank you so much for your help, i will try this as soon as the download finishes. Is the normal M8 S-OFF or S-ON? and if it is either one, how do i change it? Because i want to go exactly back as it was in order to sell it.
Thanks again for your help ^_^

You are already S-On, and will remain that way.
The only differences from the day you bought it will be that the bootloader is unlocked, and the the stock ROM is the latest Android version (5.0.1 Lollipop instead of 4.4.2 Jellybean), just as it would be if you had remained stock and updated through the OTA updates from HTC and your carrier.

Without S-Off (which costs $25), you can only set it to re-locked status and not locked, so I wouldn't bother.

From your getvar. Hook up to your PC, get into ADB, and enter adb getvar all.
Post the readout here. Edit out your IMEI and serial# from it first. That is private information that you should never post on a public forum.
EDIT: I saw your bootloader readout in the thread you started. There is no RUU available for your device (Vodafone) that I am aware of. Sorry.

M8 only boots into fastboot

Hi guys, I need help bringing my phone back to life. I tried to return my phone back to stock by running a RUU. But now I've learnt (the hard way) it was the wrong RUU and now I can only boot into bootloader. There is no recovery I can boot into. This is the getvar:

I tried to find the correct HBOOT and CID version RUU but to no avail. I've tried another RUU for 0P6B but I think it was MID 0P6B1000 while mine is 0P6B3000. And most other solutions involve have S-OFF which mine isn't. I'm not sure what else I can do. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think you want the RUU for 4.18.708.12, if such RUU exists. I don't know if it exists or not, but this at least give you a starting point to look (seems like you were somewhat guessing before).

Don't think 4.18.708.12 RUU exists.
If your bootloader is unlocked ... you can install TWRP 2.8.7.0 then restore 4.18.708.12 stock non-rooted backup and install 4.18.708.12 stock recovery.img then do OTA to Marshmallow 6.16.708.1

I agree, if there is no RUU for the version, than the way forward is to restore a stock TWRP backup. Unlocked bootloader is required.

How exactly did you "update" (or try to update)? Please describe step by step, using as much detail as possible (exact file names, results for each step, error messages, etc.), the exactly what you've tried to do.
Also, please do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).
Also, is the bootloader locked, unlocked or relocked (as indicated near the top of the bootloader screen)?
OS number 3.xx indicates you are still on KitKat.
Don't try any other modifications until we get more details about the phone; and give you specific instructions. Specifically, you have the Verizon variant, which is different from most other M8 versions. And if you are following guides intended for other versions, it can be a big problem. Flashing firmware (with s-off) for anything but the Verizon version can results in no network, and possibly even permanent damage. The situation is probably reversible, but we need more details to see what you've done.

As far as I know, there is no Marshmallow update for your device variant.
If you update it using Verizon firmware/RUU .. you won't get any network.
You need to install the correct RUU for your device and your network may work again.

I put up two links for him to read thru.
I'm too busy these few days.
Guide him to change the MID from 0P6B2**** to 0P6B20000
and change CID from SuperCID to LRA__001
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67506065&postcount=25
He can change back to SuperCID later but still no point to have SuperCID on this device variant .. you can't change it to any other firmware.
LRA RUU & OTA sometime won't play nice with SuperCID/SuperMID

now after i saw @ckpv5 post i get it
to change MID to the proper MID for your device you need a rooted rom on the device
or just custom recovery TWRP ( recommended )
then after flashing TWRP reboot to recovery and allow system modification
then connect the device with your PC and open cmd window, and type
adb shell
press enter then just copy the next command and paste it in your cmd window ( don't try to write it by your self ) and press enter
Code:
echo -ne '\x30\x00\x50\x00\x36\x00\x42\x00\x32\x00\x30\x00\x30\x00\x30\x00\x30' | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 bs=1 seek=16384
after sending the above command type exit and press enter
then in TWRP menu choose to reboot to bootloader and change CID to LRA__001
follow this post instruction to change CID
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67506065&postcount=25
after you changed MID & CID proceed to flash again this RUU.zip from this post

HTC One M8 return to stock s-on

I had previously put custom crDroid 7.1.1 . I've been trying to return to stock with s-on. I've tried methods from different threads on here specifically: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/guide-restore-european-htc-one-m8-to-t3072235
However, when I try retrieving the rom.zip file I get an invalid message. Any suggestions?

Try using this RUU instead.
Scroll down to the Manual System Update Instructions and read them. The RUU download is at the end of the instructions.
I've tried that. Unfortunatley it doesn't work.

Doesn't work how? "Doesn't work" doesn't help me/us to figure out what your issue is and how to fix it. When you run the RUU and it doesn't work, what error message are you getting?
it says, " The ROM Update Utility cannot connect to your Android Phone. Check your usb cable......."
I have the drivers installed

Maybe you should have read to the bottom of the instructions in the link I gave you, where it says with your issue you should boot to bootloader/fastboot and run the RUU from there.

that's why the RUU didn't work for you
next time you need to use the RUU you should relock the bootloader first ( for s-on devices )
using this command
fastboot oem lock
then flash the RUU in fastboot mode ( use the same android version or higher ( for s-on devices )
