[Q] Good ROM for changing screen dpi

Ok, I decided... I will root my Note2, but I would not like to lose much time in trying all the ROMs and comparing...
What I need is just:
- possibility to change dpi (with LCD resolution for example or in another way): this is my main purpose
- a very fast, stable and battery saving ROM, better light without all the Samsung "social things"... I do not want to risk or wait for updates to solve one problem or another.
Could you please suggest me?
Thank you so much.
You can change dpi on any rom
But there are problems I.e depending what you change it too some features wont fit and look right
Camera
Keyboard
Email
Snote
There is one rom thats light and about 300mb large what has sysrem dpi changed to 280 with all bits looking right
Look in android development section and youll find it cant remember name
If you dont mind loosing spen features and touchwiz extras like quick glance pick up to call and things like that then I would defo recommend p.a rom had paranoid android on my note 1 and loved it
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
There is an overview over all roms for this phone over at forum(.)xda-developers(.)com/showthread.php?t=1926506
Well you could try the ParanoidAndroid roms (which are CM10's, so no original Sammy software), which allow for DPI changes and a Tablet/Hybrid Tablet mode. There's one in the Android developement section by Utacka who publishes the releases on a nightly basis, there's also one in the Original Android developement section by imilka, those are released on a different schedule.
There is a rom called Hypernote, which is not CM10, but developed from original Samsung software. It has the stock DPI changed to
but... anyway, you are saying that I am going to lose some features like the s-pen...
That is really a pity!
Regarding other things... do you think customized ROMs are better than the really reliable Samsung one?
I am confused... but I got used to my 240dpi on Note1, and everything here seems too big without reasons

[Q] State of 5.1 Lollipop in our Galaxy Nexus

Hello.
Well, I've been reading the threads of the ROMS with recent updates but to be frank there's some confusion and seriously too many pages to read and get the whole idea of the state of lollipop for our gramps nexus.
What I got from all the search and reading:
- Most roms have problems with offline charging and video recording (green lines?);
[Q] - Is this only happening in the Galaxy Nexus or is every device experiencing this (apart, obviously, from the officially supported ones)
- There's no f2fs support (or it is partially missing);
[Q] - Is f2fs really important performance wise? Has anyone tried to convert the roms and gave feedback? How is it?
I'm using kitkat with f2fs and I did notice some improvements over ext4 that's why I'm asking if it is the same with lollipop or it is now redundant.
Well, I know that those questions could be easily answered by testing all the roms and I am really wanting to do that but I'm using my nexus as my only phone and daily driver and I don't have a replacement phone in case something goes wrong so I can't really test and flash like crazy with roms that are still beta. That's why I'm asking this, I want to get into the lollipop world but I can only to that when lollipop reaches a somewhat stable state without major lags and no bugs (like kitkat has been since early last year).
I also would like to suggest a creation of a role thread for ROMs, making the threads graphically similar. That would help the developers and the users since the users would have the info they need in places they are used to search for, and developers wouldn't need to think of ways to put their info on, they could use the pre made model and just edit it with their info and links.
I would also suggest an update in the thread titles (rom ones) since there are some threads that don't have updated dates of "last build" or android version and it becomes confusing. I know that the developers have more important things to do but they don't need to do it themselves, I believe that there is many people here who can take care of that by editing it acording to the respective developer's standards or orders, I wouldn't mind to do it for example. And that could also incentivate the non developer guys to actively contribute to the forums organization.
Well, best regards and sorry if I was not so clear as I'm not used to long talk in english

[Q] Some Question with Developers

Hi Guys,
First of all I must appreciate of all developers who work on Gnexus.
I have a main question and this is: Why no one (of developers) try to complete his/her project?
I mean most of them decided to get right of his/her Rom while there are some f.. bugs in these Roms, especially about 5.1.1 for Gnexus. I know that our Gnexus maybe has low ram, weak CPU or ... but there are a lot of developer in XDA who work on older phone than ours and are successful to make or cook a bugless Rom. You can easily look around.
I think either our developer couldn't Fix main bugs or it is not worth to Fix them for people that are waiting to use their creation and enjoy 5.1.1 or 6 Android.
I hope someday someone appears and solve all of bugs in this phone.
Unfortunately I have no knowledge to develop a Rom.

Honor 8 pro stock edition?[custom]

Hello,
As we all know there are tons of custom roms, i was wondering this since a while
Say i get the honor 8 pro and i install lineage os on it and install pixel launcher or wahtever i want to bring it as close to stock as i want+ more speed i guess? cause its fully stock? i don't mind losing out on features of emui, but my questions are.
1] do custom roms make an impact on the camera performance?[earlier i had a nexus 5, so honestly couldn't make out the difference]
2 Will i lose my battery perforamnce somehow? i mean what if its made to be optimized with the official firmware? or does it not matter?
Someone please shed some light
1. Custom ROMs impact camera performance mainly because you lose out on the camera interface (which in 8 pro is far sophisticated than a third party app can offer). And we do not have a custom ROM for this device that uses stock modules to port itself. With single lens, difference wouldn't be much as there isn't much post shutter processing going on. Its just the sensor doing the job. With dual cameras, its slightly different.
2. Battery life depends on which custom ROM you choose. Lineage, RR generally have very neat battery stats and issues get resolved much faster(if at all there are any).
Most of them are waiting to change over to a custom ROM once the Camera app is ported, as all other functionality can be replicated using third party apps or you might find better customization when running a custom ROM by default.
1- camera will be heavily impacted (especially the dual lens function)
2- it just depends on the custom ROM and how well optimized for the hardware.
Cool thanks!

Last words
Yes custom ROM do ,but once surdu petru said in his thread that he willl port the stock emui camera to customrom.wait for him.

Looking for info. Solid Rom suggestions only.

Got me a Z5p E6853 over a year ago.
Stock rom is ok, a bit laggy but runs well enough. over time it gets stale and I looked around for Custom roms.
Tried a few, mainly the AOSP roms on this Forum and the Z5 fourm. found some bug or another that didn't sit well with me. custom stock roms causes a display failure on my device for some reason at random times, sometimes more than once a day, others will run for weeks without a problem. happens at the oddest times too so no way to pin down the cause. (plus all the devs from those roms have moved on so little point in requesting help for them)
So my main question is. other than going back to full stock. (with the possibility of xposed in the future) - What are the current best roms for function and Camera.
Stock roms take advantange of the DRM keys saved on your device. AOSP roms don't from what I can understand. is there a Lineage or AOSP type rom that has a better camera than stock?
what have the users here experienced to be their best combination of rom, with long term stability / Camera quality being top priority.
I don't normally ask Questions here, I usually lurk and help people with problems with flashing and such. but my current experiece with the Z5p has been a bit poor. and I would like to use this phone to its full potential. I just don't see that yet with whats currently available. I may have missed an old rom, or some patch fix that someone mentioned somewhere, but i've been reading the threads for the past few months looking for something that stands out.
I feel like I've bought into a dud of a phone. and my only real option is to just go back to normal stock and pass the phone onto a relative and buy a better phone.
Hey there. I used to have an HTC One M9 (I now have the Z5 Premium (E6853))and the best decision I've ever made with that phone is to keep the stock rom, but root it (preferably with magisk). For me this had the best stability with all the perks of rooting it as you could still flash kernels, and use the millions of root apps that boost your phone and clean out bloatware. Maybe just do some exploring into apps that'll completely change the behaviour of your phone, rather than the OS. What I have found in my rom flashing addict days is that the ROMs themselves really only change a couple of things and device performance is never one of them. If you're looking for massive customisation options a custom rom can help, but you should also check out Substratum. I hope it all goes well!
P.S. - I find Lineage OS is probably the most stable custom rom out there but who knows every custom rom can be a real hit and/or miss.
