Widgets stop updating when internet connection changes - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

I've had an op3 for the last month or so. Currently running OxygenOS 3.2.4.
The problem starts when I move away from my home wifi and connect to a mobile network. The widgets stop refreshing as soon as the internet connection changes. I'm currently using the simple weather widget but have noticed this behavior with even built in widgets like the Google now widget.
I've tried the following things so far hoping to fix it:
Removed all apps which come with widgets
Enabled/Disabled Automatic time & date
Restarting the phone helps but the problem occurs again when the connection changes.
Wiped system cache
Anyone have any other solutions?

[Q] HTC Desire Weather Issue

Hi Guys,
I've started having a little annoyance with my Desire.
Since I've got the phone (over a year ago now) I've always been able to Sync my weather via WiFi, then switch my WiFi off, and my phone would retain the Synced/Downloaded data and display it on my homepage.
I've never had to keep my 3G switched on so basically it would retain the downloaded weather data, even though I wasn't connected to the web; and then, when I wanted to download new weather info I would just connect via WiFi, Sync weather, and switch WiFi off again.
Now, however, I Sync/Download my weather data but after I switch off my WiFi it loses the downloaded data.
It's only been happening since the last two weeks.
I'm running Android 2.2.2.
I'd appreciate any thoughts,
Thanks,
Ronan

Genie Widget Network issue ?

Does anyone else have a network issue with news and weather ?
I'm running Bugless Beast JB with Trinity Kernel.
It won't refresh and says there's a network issue.
The Google says this could be a server side issue, but just wanted to see if anyone else has the same issue ?
Had the same issue since last night.
UK.
Regards.
i'm having the same issue, i think/hope it's just a temporary server problem
here is another thread about it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786370
Same issue here in France, ever since this morning...
Not just me then... wouldn't be the first time it went down for several hours. Time to find a replacement, I think.
Yeah, same here. And I deleted and reinstalled widget, looked trough different settings and so on...
My logcat says:
07-21 19:51:35.822 2657 2657 W Genie : Cache file not found: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /data/data/com.google.android.apps.genie.geniewidget/files/genie_iconcache (No such file or directory)
Not sure if it is related, but I deleted all app caches recently
Why is it always the good apps that quit working? Why can't the BlockBuster bloatware app quit working?

Seems to have been fixed, news and weather displaying and refreshing properly now.

Slow Wi-Fi initial connect speed

Since my Nexus 7 (2013) upgraded OTA to version 6.0 I've noticed a slow (about 7-10 seconds) connect time to my home Wi-Fi.
Previously it was almost instant.
Once connected I have no issues with upload or download speeds.
My WiFi settings are in Advance Wi-Fi:
Network notification - Notify whenever a public network is available
Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep - Only when plugged in
Wi-Fi frequency band - 2.4 Ghz only
Everything else as default.
Anyone else have this or know how to speed up the initial connecting?
Thanks
Put "keep WiFi on during sleep to always, frequency band to automatic

Thanks for the suggestions - will try.
I have exactly the same problem. Tried different settings but no result. Before upgrade to Marshmallow no such problem. Still not found a solution.

I tried 'blueyes' suggestion - no difference.
In a way its nice to know I'm not alone with this issue.
After November's update is still the same. Even worse when using chrome.
I also experiencing inconsistent WiFi connections after I upgraded to Marshmallow MRA58V and rooted using the NRT toolkit. I wonder if it has something to do with the modified boot image to allow root. My connection sometime are instant, but some times take a few seconds from both boot up and wake up. When I use to experience similar issues used to clear the Dalvik cache and reboot, but this does not work with Marshmallow as it uses ART instead. Is there any way to force Marshmallow to optimize the applications like it does when the ROM is first flashed? Any other suggestions?
After 6.0.1 update it seems better now.

Dropping network connection and other bugs on M8

I have installed the Nightly on my freshly wiped M8. I encounter some weird bugs. I have a international M8 from Germany. After every reboot my Pixel Launcher settings seem resetted to a stage a fews minutes after first boot. Some icons are in the right custom place, but I have changed locations and set up folders, which will be gone after reboot. Same with my wallpaper.
My bluetooth devices like Pebble Time or my Megaboom don't connect any more and have to be paired again.
My primary keyboard (BlackBerry Keyboard) is deactivated in settings and default Gboard active.
But the most annoying issue is the inconsistent network connection. Sometimes it works for hours, sometimes only minutes. The mobile network connection gets lost und won't come back until switching flight mode on and off. That's a really massive problem.
Until official Lineage release I ran an unofficial LOS port from xda here without mentioned issues.
Is there a solution or am I alone with this bugs?

Wifi drops when location is turned on and used

I'm using Samsung galaxy s20 ultra. i was on oneUI 2.5 when this started happening last week. when using apps that request for location, my wifi randomly drops and i lose internet connectivity for 10-15 seconds. i thought this was everyone but only my phone on my home network is affected by this. it also does not happen always, maybe 70% of the time. when i turn off location services this issue goes away (but i need location services). When i am on mobile data, this issue does not happen.
things i already did:
- restart phone
- clear google play services cache
- turn off wifi burst on developer settings
- uninstall/reinstall all apps that are affected
- update to oneUI 3.0
