Hello guys. I'm android newbie .
I wanna install B708 EMUI 3.0. I have B520 now. My huawei p6 is rooted. I have TWRP. I put update.app to dload folder. When I'm trying to update it by "local update" from phone menu, phone is asking me about reboot. I'm clicking YES, and then I have TWRP menu. So i can't update it. Could you give me instructions how to do that?
Anyway, is it possible to root B708?
I think you will need to use rom that is compatable with TWRP. The huawei firmware won't install unless you have the stock recovery on your phone. I am on stock 708 I rooted with king root.

What is the easiest way to return to stock recovery in my case?
Not sure never been on TWRP. Are you sure you have it installed. You should be able to install stock recovery as a zip file from TWRP.

If you have TWRP. I'd install the 709 repack from oxalis. Can be downloaded from p6 development thread. Put it in a folder boot into TWRP and install from there. Make sure you read all the threads so you don't have any problems.

You could use Minimal ADB and fastboot from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790 (just google for commands)
But I think it's possible with twrp as well. Just put the zip file on your SD card, go to 'install' in twrp and choose your stock ROM.zip on external SD (after the usual wiping).
I think that if you have b520 then you could get a repack of 708 or the oxalis one and install that over twrp. The problem lies in the version of twrp, before 3(not 100% sure which version) twrp can't update through an .img file, but can update though a .zip file. A zip file usually is a modified repack of the original firmware. However if you are determined to install a stock 708(which to my understanding there's none, cause 708 was ported backwards) you should switch to a stock recovery and then update through that by following the procedure you followed .
About rooting 708 not sure but i rooted 709 by oxalis with root genius.

Hi,
I have bought an Ascend P6 (my first Android phone, so I have started to learn using tutorials and XDA). I have only:
- updated the firmware from B606 to B125 international
- rooted the device
Now I would like to install Xposed, but first I'd like to make a backup of the smartphone on the SD card using a Recovery. Here on XDA I have found CWM (but at the moment, as I understood, it can't backup/restore) and TWRP. This one works only with B118CN and B120CN. What does "CN" mean?
In your opinion, what should I do to make a backup (more or less) safely?
I am still not very familiar with some terms and practices, so please explain every step
Thank you for your time and patience!
CN means that they are Chinese firmware and they come with unlocked bootloader, which is required in order to flash twrp. But check here how you can unlock BL on any firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2666116
Good luck and welcome to the android world!
Lähetetty minun P6-U06 laitteesta Tapatalkilla
Ok, so I have to use adb to unlock the bootloader. I found some guides on this forum, but I ask you: do I only have to install Huawei Hi Suite and adb/fastboot tools? Or also Android SDK? Is there a specific procedure for P6? I didn't find it.
I read in the thread linked above that the factory reset should not happen, but in that case (Murphy's law)... what would happen? Is there a risk of "bricking" the phone? I just made a backup with the Huawei "internal" tool (under MGMT folder) and I don't know what I could lose while unlocking the bootloader. I still have a little confusion in my head
And btw.. thank you!
UPDATE: I installed Android SDK and Huawei PC Suite. I entered fastboot mode and used the command "fastboot oem unlock UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" to unlock the bootloader. Then I rebooted the phone (fastboot reboot).
Now I want to install TWRP. Please confirm me these steps:
- I have to download twrp_2_6_3_3_recovery.img (where do I have to put it?)
- via adb commands, I have to enter fastboot mode and use the command "fastboot flash recovery twrp_2_6_3_3_recovery.img"
Then? Just reboot the phone?
Check this thread (if you already didn't): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2636231
Put the .img file into the adb folder
Lähetetty minun P6-U06 laitteesta Tapatalkilla
It worked, I installed TWRP but when i boot in it, the phone starts vibrating and I can't use it.
Should I install Kitkat beta and then downgrade again in B125? Both via local update, right?
After that should I flash TWRP again?
Hmmm, try to reflash twrp?
Lähetetty minun P6-U06 laitteesta Tapatalkilla
I read that I'm not the only one with this problem... but I couldn't find a solution for now.
I don't know if re-flashing TWRP would solve this. When I boot in TWRP I see the menu, but the phone vibrates and the screen does not respond correctly to my taps. Luckily, if I press Power + Vol up + Vol down the phone reboots in normal mode!
Install TWRP on KK Beta... Safest method.

Thank you!
No, for local update you need stock recovery.

Ok. Can I use the "Stock_Recovery_B118.zip" linked in the TWRP OP? Or when can I find B125 stock recovery?
After that, are the steps I wrote before correct?
You can use the B118 one Install the recovery through adb, use local update to update to kk beta, then flash twrp for kk through adb, then you can make a backup If you need to stay on B125: update to kitkat beta, then use local update (NOT 3 button method) to install B125. Your bootloader will still be unlocked and not encrypted. I think you can flash TWRP then, too, although I'm NOT 100% sure

Ok, I installed the stock recovery and it worked! now I'll see if install Kitkat beta and keep it or go back to B125... I'm afraid that B125 and TWRP will continue to give me the "vibrating" error. Anyway, thank you for your help!
No problem! Glad I could help

Since everybody knows how to upgrade OTA or from LOCAL UPGRADE and go from 4.2 to 4.4 I've decided to let you know how to easily downgrade from 4.4 to 4.2 AND / OR change from Chinese to International Huawei Firmware!
The method I describe here, I've found in some German forums after long search. It really works! 100% tested on my device Ascend P6-U06!
!!! CAUTION !!!
Before you begin, you must be sure you have STOCK recovery, NOT TWRP one!!! This flashable files work and can be flashed only thru STOCK recovery!
If you have TWRP recovery and don't know how to go back to STOCK one, look the SECOND POST in THIS thread and follow the steps there, before you begin this procedure! ONLY after you're done with turning back your STOCK recovery and you're sure of that, you can continue with the following steps:
To Downgrade from Android 4.4 to Android 4.2 / Switch from Chinese to International ROM, do the following:
1. Download this (Unicom 2.0 Downgrade Flashable ZIP) and flash it thru STOCK RECOVERY - https://mega.co.nz/#!ZYVixBqa!JNMLRB2DUVKlGpZVqPJbIsdbVPijks7r1Mtk46KGrmE
This is a 240MB archive, also known as Unicom 2.0 - something like ROM, but it is not an entire ROM, but just part of it, that must be flashed thru stock recovery. You must unzip it, take the dload folder that is inside and put it on you sdcard. Than you can flash it like a local update thru the updater, or you can forcefully flash it - pres power+ volume down+ volume up and it will take you directly to flashing updates thru stock recovery. When you flashed it, you can once again boot normally into you Android device. Now you must take dload folder from the B132 zip (from the link below), once again put it on your sdcard and flash it again using the same methods again thru stock recovery. The cool thing is that the first little flashable zip allows you not just to downgrade from 4.4 to 4.2, but also change from China to International ROMs. So when you're finished flashing this thru stock recovery, flash the official international B125 or B132, wait for the system to install and boot into android. When it is finally booted, you can flash B510 or B512/513 - whatever you want. In my case when I downgraded to B132, after the first boot the system prompted me, that it can be updated directly to B520 OTA. I've updated and now I am once again with International firmware
2. Download this (B132 International 4.2 Firmware) and flash it thru STOCK RECOVERY ONLY if you already flashed the file in the step above! - https://mega.co.nz/#!5JkAzKpB!nFqfHIHfWo6EO4XPqjO3Gga6a3XWWnqqZxZDZpzAdWE
3. Boot into Official Huawei Android 4.2 firmware and check for update OTA. If you have one - install it. If you don't - you can flash B510 or B512/513/etc...
Enjoy International firmware line again! This method can also be used just to downgrade form Android 4.4 to Android 4.2!
Files are not flashable thru TWRP - please, use ONLY Stock Recovery!

Please, hit THANKS, if this thread helped you!

Just try with the stock B510 recovery from the second post in the TWRP recovery theme! I think stock recovery is the same for all 4.4 ROMs and it doesn't matter which one. I recommend the one that I told you about! Should work! I was with Chinese B706 ROM and TWRP. To downgrade I've flashed the B510 stock recovery first and then - step by step as I wrote above.
thanks..will try to do that..

I have a question for you - I see that you modified the .prop file for the local channel, to get louder sound in headphones (from your signature). I've tried to do this today, but when I try to modify the file every time it says - cannot save changes, file cannot be modified, changes not saved! I have root and I've mounted / and /system as writable! I can edit build.pro without any problem and save the changes, but this file - I can't! How did you edited it and how can I edit it too?
Thank you!

did not work for me..
i made the following:
flashed stock recovery from b510
took a fresh 4gb sdcard with dload folder on it..inside this folder was the update.app from the unicom rom..
then turned off device..
then pressed power, vol + & - together and held it 'til the recovery screen with yellow writing appeared..
it started to flash..but on the point where the verlist check begins it tells me "fail"!!!..
so what to do now???
i know this procedure..did it with the b506 rom and it worked..but with the b635 rom it won't work..

Try to flash B706 Chinese EMUI 3.0 new Development edition ROM from the official Huawei web site. If you flash it over the B635 successfully, then you must be able to do this procedure to turn back into international line of ROMs and to B132 4.2 ROM. after that you can flash B510 again. Try this method! I'm pretty sure that it will be possible to flash B706 directly over B635, even than that in the official website it is recommended to update only from B508SP02 official chinese rom. I had success with updating directly to B706 from B512, but if you can't go from B635, try to flash B508SP02 first, than B706 and than downgrade! Should work! Good Luck!
got it..
i just had to flash the b125!!!
so easy..i just flashed the stock recovery of b510..made a force update with the b125 (not the p6 unicom 2.0!!!!)..and now i just upgrade my p6 to b520 via OTA!!!
thanks for your help and time!

No. No problems at all. I think just the upgrade took a little while that usual but it flashed like charm over the B512 without any problems! I think the flashing from B508 is just a recommendation, because the B508SP02 is the latest chinese ROM, and this B706 is Chinese developers edition...

That's right! Download the official B706 from Huawei EMUI website, unzip it, put the dload folder in you sdcard and then i recomend to make Local update first. If it doesn't want to update thru local update option in the Update Application, then try with forceful update - press and hold power + volume up + volume down and wait until phone boots into stock recovery mode! The update can only be done with stock recovery! If you're on TWRP, that you must go back to stock!
**** uc browser sucks
I kept to download b508 due to some problem I have to pause it only 36mb was remaining and when I resumed it showed a error was not able to resume the download so I re downloaded the b508 it got downloaded now
So kept to download b706 the same thing happened only 50mb was remaining for the download to complete it showed a error again but this time I did even pause ****
And now someone told me we can update b706 on b512 no need of b508 ****
Today ill download b706 on chrome

Hi,in my Huawei Ascend P6-U06 i installed firmware B513+EMUI 2.3.
I tried to downgrade with this method but it fails when i flash Unicom 2.0 (i follow the instructions:download it..unzip then put UPDATE.app in dload folder of my sdcard). When i flash it,itfails(i have Stock Recovery, never installed TWRP).
Is this method valid also for B513+EMUI2.3?Or maybe i've done something wrong?
Any help is very appreciate..Thanks

Try to flash it forceful with holding all buttons together, or try to copy not only the update.app, but the whole dload folder from the archive. If it's not working, just try to flash B510 or B512 on top of B513 - this should work. After that you can try to downgrade to 4.2 again with the same method!

-formatting cache
-cache wipe complete
-install from sd card complete

It means that the process has been successful ??? If yes then i proceed to downgrade...

Download that twrp img and make sure you have installed last drivers.
After that follow those commands
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery "recoveryname.img"
fastboot reboot
And you are done.
This "recoveryname.img" is twrp recovery name, put it without quotes.

could please anybody be so kind and help me to find the correct upgrade path?
I have a P6 with b125 installed. Further I already have twrp 2.8.1.0 installed and achieved root.
Now I would like to go for b708 or 709 but the more articles I read the more procedures I find.
I would do the following: b125 -> b512 --> b708
Is this correct? Or should I add more paths?
And should i do these steps via TWRP or local update?
kind regards

This is a very short answer for all my questions
So I would like to explain this sentence what it meant for me and for others who have the same questions.
As I wrote I installed TWRP recovery image. This is a real problem because every time you reboot your phone you enter automatically into recovery.
So you need to flash the stock recovery again. But where to get from? You need to download your current firmare, in my case b125 and have to install "Huawei extractor" . With the help of this tool you can extract the recovery image from the firmware.
So I now installed the stock-recovery image again.
From now you can go on and put firmware b512 into dload and update. When its finshed do it again with target firmware( in my case b708).
After that has finished you can now flash twrp again via fastboot and last but not least you can install the latest kernel via twrp.
Hope I can help somebody
Yes you can
Hi guys. I have installed in mi Huawei P6U06 the rom B117SP01 Chinese with CWM 6.0.3.6 and the Kernel is 3.0.8-00821 [email protected] #1. I'd like to update to kitkat, but i have some questions before do anything. ¿Can i install TWRP recovery without any problem? If a can't install twrp ¿How can i solve the problem of Huawei SD CARD update fail?
Thanks and sorry for my english!
Before going to twrp i suggest you make an update to official chinese firmware (like b708), and then go for the twrp. I have the newest version and if you like i can make a download link for you. As for the sdcard update fail just move the folder with the file in internal storage.
