S6 Firmware possible? - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
so I'm at T-Mobile germany with an 5x. Since june, T-Mobile offers wifi-calling with its branded S6 phones.
Yes, GS6 only. So is it possible to make T-Mobile believe I'm on a S6 instead of a 5x?
Thanks

Are you serious? Maybe get S6 instead?

You could just run on Project Fi and get this feature without a new phone.

T-Mobile vs. Verizon S6 edge

HI guys,
I bought a s6 edge through verizon but using it on T-Mobile. I was wondering if they use that same radio frequencies because I keep losing signal occasionally. I want to know if it's the area I'm in or the T-Mobile variant would perform better. I checked the specs on the verizon s6 edge but don't really understand it. Can someone please shine some light on this matter?
Thanks in advance,

Verizon Galaxy S6 edge plus w/ T-Mobile sim card

So I am currently in possession of a Verizon branded S6 edge+ which I am planning to use with TMo, as far as the XDA community I've seen this subsection as well as subsections for the different carries ex. TMo S6 edge+, Verizon S6 edge+ etc I was wondering what the difference was, also was wondering which ssection, my guess is the Verizon subsection as the phone's innards are specific to Verizon's version but I'm just asking before I get Into the rooting (rather be safe than sorry)
Also has any one else done this? Is there any discrepancy with the signal or anything else?
Any help would greatly be appreciated, thanks
Verizon and tmobile use different technologies. Tmobile is gsm and verizon is cdma

The new Samsung S6 Edge+ and Note 5 Verizon phones can also use sim chips.
Both of those phones have sim chip slots which are the same size as the T mobile and
Note 5's sim chip slots.
All you need to do before you do anything else is to borrow a friends T mobile or AT&T
sim chip for a quick test, then power down your phone, insert the T mobile or AT&T sim
card to make sure it works properly and that's it, you don't need to do anything else.
The Verizon Note 5 and S6 Edge+ do not need to be unlocked for them to work with
the AT&T or T mobile netework and sim chips.
Both the Verizon S6 Edge+ and Note 5 have the capability to use the same mobile
bands and frequencies which T mobile and or AT&T networks use.
It is very true that older Verizon phones did not have sim chip slots and could not
be used with any sim chip, but in the past couple of years but thanks to Samsung
changing the internals of the new phones they now can work with sim chips just fine.
I am sure you know that the Verizon S6 Edge+ or the Verizon Note 5 cannot be
rooted at all even if they are used with a T mobile sim chip on Tmobile/AT&T network.
That means you will not be able to flash any custom roms, kernels or custom recoveries.
The Verizon S6 Edge+ and Note 5 even if used on the Verizon network cannot be rooted
and cannot be flashed with custom roms, custom kernels and recoveries either.
But the phone will work just fine on the Tmobile or AT&T network.
The only advantage I see in getting a T mobile sim card and using
it with your Verizon S6 Edge+ on the T mobile network would be a
savings of at least $25 bucks a month if you only have one line of
service and even more if you have more than one line of service.
Good luck,
Merry Christmas

TMobile phone with AT&T Sims card? Possible?

Hi guys!
So I have been stuck with my AT&T S5 since it first came out in 2014. Now it's wearing off..... (very slow, crashes a lot). I am a root/flash junkie so the only reason why I want to upgrade to s6 edge now is because it's possible to root! I am planning to upgrade to a S6 edge but using a Tmobile device and unlocking the sims to AT&T carrier (I am using AT&T). I have done my research and the S6 edge for AT&T is too difficult to root/rom customize with 5.1.1 (or not possible at all). With that being said, I am planning to purchase a s6 edge running on 5.1.1 with T-mobile.
Anyone with AT&T service have tried this method and works successfully? Few questions to ask.. how is it any differ from AT&T service? Does it matter? Any changes? Text/call/4G LTE works flawlessly just like a normal AT&T phone?
I'm also planning to unlock the sims by the method that senior member, stifilz, posted in one of the other thread, "Sim Unlock - Intl' and Domestic".
Once it is unlocked, you put an AT&T SIM in and you are good to go. Did it on my T-Mo Nexus 5 and on my wife's T-Mo iPhone 5S.

Is it possible to update G925T firmware to G925V?

Verizon G925V works very well with T-mobile network. I found Verizon basically unlock all 4G phones. Even T-mobile has a brief guide to network setup for other carrier phones. Anyway, I'm wonder if I can update T-Mobile firmware on to Verizon S6 edge plus. Thanks in advance.

ATT S6, S6 Edge+ and Note 5 Firmware

Hello,
I recently changed to T-mobile. Is it possible to flash T-mobile firmware for ATT s6, edge+ and Note 5 ? Noticed not very good signal using ATT firmware. Please let me know.
Thanks
I don't believe so, due to how locked up tight Samsung and AT&T have their variants. I use an AT&T S6 Edge Plus on T-Mobile and get fine signal... Not sure what the issue is with your end.
