My boot loader can't be unlocked. I'm following the directions to install Jelly Sandwich with a locked one. I'm confused with the following steps.
5. Go to CWM
6. Fix permissions in Advanced
7. Format cache in mount and storage
8. Select ROM to flash
9. Select data and cache in "wipe" section in AROMA
10. Do the same what's in step 6
11. Do the same what's in step 7
For step 5 am I supposed to go into ROM manager and choose "fix permissions"? I can do that ok but there is no option for "format cache in mount and storage" for step 7. It's my understanding CWM is no longer it's own app, is that right?
follow these steps in CWM
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. wipe cache partition
3. go to mounts and storage menu and\
4. format /system
5. format/data
6. format cache
7. exit mounts and storage menu
6. go to advance
7. wipe dalvik cache
8. wipe battery stats
9. exit advance
10. install jelly sandwhich from sd card without rebooting :highfive:

How to Flash a ROM Properly?
I recommend the following procedures because it is safe and recommended by CyanogenMod and also I recommend the users of Clockworkmod Recovery v5.0.2.7, to update for v6.0.2.9 which is Pretty Good & Working Perfectly.
How to Flash a ROM Properly using Clockworkmod Recovery v6.0.2.9 ?
For Clockworkmod Recovery v6.0.2.9, DarkSide Super Wipe & DarkSide Cache Wipe Zips are not necessary
Reboot to Clockworkmod Recovery
1. Backup Current ROM.
2. Go to Wipe data/factory reset, then Do a Wipe Cache.
3. Go to Mounts and Storage, then Format /system -> Format /data & Format /cache.
4. Go to Advanced, then Do a Wipe dalvik cache.
5. Install the ROM Zip from the SD Card or Internal Memory & then Install New GApps for CM10.1.
6. Reboot and Let the ROM settle for 5-10 minutes.
Note: Restore apps without data if your are using any backup tools such as TitaniumBackup etc., Restoring Apps with data cause Problems
How to Update ROM Properly?
After Installing CM10.1, If you want to update to new Nightly or Stable, a full wipe is not required.
We can do a Dirty Flash as Follows. This will not erase data & its Safe.
1. Reboot to Clockworkmod Recovery
2. Do a Wipe cache partition
3. Go to Advanced, then Do a Wipe dalvik cache
4. Install the ROM Zip from the SD Card or Internal Memory & Reboot.

Hello my friends
I have a big problem with my sm-p601
when i reset factory by system or TWRP or wipe cache i get booting problem
stuck on logo screen!!!!
wipe cache/dalvik cache is itself problem!
when i get this problem must install official kitkat rom by odin and then boot problem solved.
so i want to wipe whole storage and system then install rom by odin for having a new tablet!
in TWRP wipe menu have this :
cache
dalvik cache
system
data
internal storage
should i tik all of this and wipe then install by odin?
Is there any problem to delete whole data and system then install official 4.4.2 rom?
Just clean internal storage

Click to collapse
You only need to clear internal storage, cache, dalvik, system and data wiill be erasered by the official image, but there is no problem to do this full wipe.
I have this error on my phone on twrp: Unable to mount storage when I tried to wipe dalvik and cache.
I tried something a few months ago and the same thing happened.
After I fixed it I had to flash my stock rom again and then install twrp again.
Is there any way to fix this without wiping my data/system?
Most forums online say to select data partition then either Repair file system or Change file system but do they remove all data on my phone?
