I have a problem with wifi after I put update on 2.3.3
whether it can solve this problem with wifi.
I always shoot and it turns the wifi network.
be a good wifi network signal then disappears
Same problem here
This is a very serious problem. Get ur act together HTC, this is just unacceptable!
Are you rooted? HTC raised the signal strength at which the connection would be dropped, there is a fix if you are rooted, otheewise you are stucm and will have to wait for HTC to correct this.
Sent from my Desire HD
Have you tried another radio? of course be careful if you do change it
same issue, though htc say that its a "new feature" to provide a seamless mobile broadband experience by automatically chosing the strongest signal. whatever you say htc
i just disable mobile data at home, so it cant jump back to 3g and stays on wifi. the annoying thing with this is that i forget to enable mobile data when leaving the house.
i hope they sort it out, and that this new feature isn't rolled out across their other products
I am having the same problem. At work, my wifi connection is weak, but was always functional. Now, I cannot connect to my work wifi. On top of that, my battery drains twice as fast on my phone, and I'm thinking that it's due to the phone always scanning and trying to connect to the wifi signal. If it's true that HTC changed the level at which the wifi signal is dropped, this was a terrible decision.

I think this may answer/point to the problem I'm having since installing the Gingerbread RUU. I use the quick settings app from the market and pre-gingerbread it used to switch between wi-fi/mobile pretty seemlessly, turning off the unused option. Now if there's no wi-fi connection that option seems to stay on (probably searching) while it's connected to mobile data. As above, my battery is draining like a sieve.

Same problem for me with Original Rom.
so i tried the Revoloution HD 5.1.4 and same problem again!
Hi guys until HTC release an OTA fix (that's if they do) the only way to resolve this is to root and then try some different ROM and radio combinations until you find one that works for you.
I find the ROM and radio from my signature work really well on WiFi but if you are going to do this make sure and root, gain S-OFF and ENG S-OFF. Also make sure you have the correct RIL for the ROM and radio that you are using
There are lots of threads on the dev section that guide you through this.
Wifi connecting
I have a similar problem with wifi connection. Only it doesn't disconnect during a connection but when establishing a wifi connection it takes much longer than it used to on Froyo. Anyone else noticed this?
i have problem too with wifi
I really hope htc has stopped the updates and resumes with a new build with the wifi problem fixed
The issue is with the Gingerbread Sense ROMs.

我更新2.3.3 是 CoreDroid_Desire_HD_GB_2.3.3_V6.2_Release_Version! wifi 目前一切正常!不知道你是用哪一版2.3.3?

I' using Revolution HD 5.1.4 with latest Radio and RIL
WiFi problems with routers
Hi there,
Same problem here. Both my WiFi router and phone say signal and reception quality are perfect and connection it stable, but data won't flow.
I'm having this problem with my Speedtouch (WEP key) router at home, whereas a Sitecom router at the office works fine (WPA etc. key).
Tried some work arounds, without success
Regards
***EDIT***
I can add that it has nothing to do with the reported threshold of -88dB signal strength. As I checked that with the *#*#4636#*#* option and both higher and lower values of the WiFi reception don't make any difference. The problem persists.
***EDIT v2***
The suggestion posted elsewhere to change from WEP to WPA didn't work out either
***EDIT v3***
Reverted back to ARHD 3.7 and WiFi is running fine again .
Hope some fix will be found soon!
Regards,
Is there any solution. I am trying to downgrade the radio but no chance.
If I use LeeDroid or Revolution will this same problem be there?
I've got a strange problem that I cannot solve or find anyone else that has had the same problem.
I recently updated to Minco V4 and since my status bar has been showing no signal and mobile standby shows 100% without signal yet I have mobile data. I cannot make any phone calls but can browse the internet. No amount of rebooting, airplane mode on/off will work. I've also gone back to both stock ICS and JB where the problem still exists.
My network is T-Mobile and it won't let me manually connect to it but the phone will occasionally register when I select automatic although it doesn't correct the fault. Anyone have any ideas what has gone wrong with my phone?
UPDATE: It seems I can only get a phone signal when select 2g T-mobile network only or connecting to T-Mobile orange. If I untick 2g networks and it connects to t-mobile 3g I can't receive or make calls.
Does your Radio and baseband match?
I installed the linked radio from the MiNCO thread after flashing the rom and discovering this issue yet it made no difference.
I got a phone signal momentarily about 15 mins ago which allowed me to make a short phone call to test it. I then accepted the JB system update from Google and now have no phone signal, just data.
i have a problem with my HOX suddenly, calls are not working anymore... data works, wifi, bt, gps too, but signal is always down and cross is always shown... it recognize all the signals from all the carriers available around my home, but when i try to switch manually to my carrier net or any other net it says "your sim card does not allow a connection to this network". even if my 3g data works perfectly, with NO SIGNAL!!!
i tryed to change rom, nothing changed.
i'm on
HBOOT 1.36.0000,
RADIO 5.1204.164D.30
htc fo**ed down all the website hosting RUUs, so i'm not able to get one that can solve my problem. now i have a HOX perfectly working, but that can't send/receive any calls.
any help will be VERY appreciated!!!
ty all
For RUUs, check this lil' thread.
Hello.
I Just bought a HTC one m8.
Amazing phone, just have some issues on the GPS, i'm running stock. No root no nothing.
GPS doesnt seem to work well, tried gps toolkit, gps test apps, no luck. The phone shows gps blinkin sigh on the top of the screen, but i cant get connected.
I've read about wifi calling function, thing is i'm on international htc, so there is no such a function as wifi calling, and it cant be turned of.
Tried factory reset and so on, maybe somebody could spare out some ideas how to fix this problem ?
Hello,
I,ve got that problem with my z1c for a long time. In fact, since i own this device.
It has a problem with connecting to the internet, lets say, every fifth attempt to connect. Then the icon changes constantly from h+ to 3g+ and back. You see its working, but it cant get the data from the net.
What i do then is, i switch off mobile-broadband and switch it on again and then it will work for some time.
But it can be very annoying and i still use my good ol z1c as my main phone, so it would be cool to fix this.
Its not the provider. No problem with that SIM-Card in other phones. Its stock-android 5.1.1
If you have an idea, please help
