I posted once before on this and got no answers. I know when installing other roms the dev has been able to turn off mms compression. Lately i am not able to send any photos without them compressing making them tiny. Does anyone have any idea how to turn this on with the note 7?

got my touch pro 2 a few days ago, everything works fine apart from MMS, when receiving these they come through ok but are very tiny. Cant seem to enlarge them at all, the size of the file is around 6k which is far to small for an mms. anyone else seen this ?
if not will ring o2 in the morning and see if they are doing anything there end. never had this issue on my tytn II but have only just moved to o2 so might be that.
thanks for any help.
nobody else experiencing this ?, I have logged a support call with o2 to see if it is something there end. Very strange.
o2 helpful as ever, they wont assist as they dont support the handset.
There must be a setting somewhere in the registry where the phone is automatically downsizing these pictures as even if i send one to myself from the phone it sends at 224k but then receives at 6k ?
very annoying.
anybody ?
at present for anyone else that is on o2 with this phone and wants to receive full size mms pictures until o2 get there finger out and officially support the phone. I used the following settings from the htc touch, these settings need to be modified in the registry.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader]
Accept application/vnd.wap.mms-message,*/*
Accept-Charset us-ascii, utf-8, iso-10646-usc-2, ISO-8859-1, ISO-8859-2
Accept-Language en
User-Agent HTC_Touch_HD_T8282/arcsoft-mmsua-5.0.0.xx
x-wap-profile http://www.htcmms.com.tw/gen/HTC_Touch_HD_T8282-1.0.xml
this seems to work for me. now getting my grand daughter who has just been born at full resolution. much better than this tiny thumbnail size that I was receiving, she's small enough as it is.
My MMS wont send or receive on o2. Where do I change the settings?
What are they?
My data works fine and everything else!!
Thanks.
Stu.
If you have a custom ROM most will require a secondary CAB install for MMS provisioning. Check the thread of your custom ROM for MMS related information.
Do any of you fellow T-Mobile service users notice a problem with HTC Messaging? No matter what registry setting I have changed or what cab I've installed, I can NEVER view an MMS/pic the same way as the original MMS/pic. The file size is exactly the same but lets say I send myself a picture that is suppose to be viewable in full screen on my TP2. Well, when I receive that image, it's never the same size as the original. What gives?? Anyone know how to fix this issue?

I'd really love to tell you if mine do the same....but unfortunately, I never get MMS messages that are sent to me, until several days after the sent date, and the system won't let me download them then. It doesn't matter what model of phone or what carrier the messages come from.
The point? I have serious doubts about T-mo's MMS routing/handling overall, and I suspect our issues may have a common cause
all My MMS messages work great, I gave you the fix for your problem in the last thread you started about the same issue. with HTC messaging it uses Jataayu and so you need to change the profile in that reg line in order to get the pics to arrive correctly sized. Please stop creating new threads about the same issue when the answer has already been provided to you.

The "fix" doesn't fully work. The files come in at the right size (a 100kb file comes in at 100kb) but if I send myself a picture that can be viewed full screen, it doesn't come in that way. It comes in at a smaller viewable size.
If you can send yourself a picture that's suppose to be viewable in full screen and it comes in at the exact same viewable size, I'd love to know what you did exactly because it's not working on my end and your fix was pretty simple to apply so I know I did it correctly.
has anyone else noticed that when someone sends you an mms of an animated gif they are frozen and do not work?
i'm pretty sure it's because the phone doesn't work with videos. if you send a picture message, i'm assuming the phone sending/recieving just takes the first frame, not the whole thing. maybe when video support is added to MMS, so will the animated gifs.
yea when i had the g1 it didnt have that capability either (promptly returned it back then went back to winmo), in time wp7 will be able too also im sure
I have tried everything to get MMS(video) working to my gf iphone4. I have an Evo 4G running Sprint lover rom 2.2 lastest sending a video which is 473KB to AT&T iphone4. I get a error back saying that she has a limit. Not sure what to do next. I reinstalled the rom and wipped everything. The rom has a MMS compressor. If anyone can help me get it to work I will donate. And yes I have search for two days on this forum and others trying to get it to work.
You mean you get a text back saying the video is too large to send? If so, that's an AT&T issue, not really much else you can do about it. Tell her to get an EVO instead.
OKay I think I found the issue. After wipping and and reinstalling the rom you have to select messages attach video and then record the video. You cannot attach a pre recorded video because it will not compress the video. I hope there is a fix for this.
Also when in the messaging app to record video it formats it in QCIF(176x144) resoultion. If you go stright to the camcorder app you do not get the option of QCIF(176x144) the smallest you get is QVGA(320x240)
I'm running a Telus SGH-i317m Note 2 with BeanStalk 4.4RC1.
I started using Textra and love dark mode and the lack of bloat. Having a problem with receiving animated gif mms's.
I can send them and people get them as I sent them (sometimes it sends them 3 or 4 times though). I am able to receive them but when they are all monochrome and slightly distorted while they animate. Strangely enough when I send one to myself, they come in correctly.
I have searched high and low online without finding anyone with the same issue. I emailed Textra support but haven't got a reply back.
I have tried both manual and auto APN settings as well as all the sending limits. My co-worker has the exact same phone/carrier but running 4.3 touchwhiz stock non-rooted and it's working fine on his.
If anyone can offer any insight, that would be so helpful. I am feeeling like if this works I will be in SMS/MMS bliss.
Thank You.
