iOS Emojis on Galaxy Note 7 without root - Note 7 Questions & Answers

Are there any solutions for getting iOS emoji onto the Note 7 (in the keyboard and also to display within apps [such as Snapchat, Instagram etc]? I'm not rooted and would like to avoid that if possible so I can continue to use Samsung and Android Pay.
I've spent quite a few hours trying to find solutions but can't find more than the usual emoji keyboards (which show the emoji on the keyboard but obviously doesn't change system fonts etc).
Was anyone able to do this on S7?
I hope this doesn't sound rude, but I'd be happy to pay someone for their time if they have the knowledge to fix this? Am totally stuck and doing all I can to love this phone as much as possible (despite other hiccups, it's been an absolute dream and totally worth the move from iPhone).
Thanks!

I believe the emojis are located in the /system partition which is not modifiable without root.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct, you must have root to change emojis, I myself hate hate hate Samsung/Lg emojis! But I'm staying non rooted

I've been using iOS emojis via Textra. It's only usable in text messages.

[Q] Auto-converting to MMS

Hello!
I have recently moved from an HTC Desire HD (Cyanogenmodded) to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, I absolutely love the phone, except for one thing:
The stock Messaging (SMS) app has the habit of converting text-messages to MMS messages, when the size is about 3-4 texts.
My girlfriend has the same issue on her HTC Desire S (un-modded), but I did not have it on my CM7'ed DHD.
Now, I have been looking into things to get this fixed, but to no avail.
I really do not want to use the 3rd party apps like Handcent op GoSMS, because frankly, I think they are ugly and bloated. I just want to use the stock app, but without the limitation.
Tonight, I have been trying to get this to work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065452
It sure seems easy enough, but after putting the app back it just kept crashing.
Has any of you been successful in editing the apk to enable larger text messages?
Thanks in advance for any reply!
Gytax.
I have the same problem..
I'm also really interested in a solution here. I've got 2,000 SMS for free but pay 30cents for a mms which i would never use due to whatsapp... Would be great if there is a tweak to turn off auto convert.
This is the main reason I'm using go SMS heh.

This is going to hurt. There is no fix whatsoever unless you root your device. Handcent is ugly and bloated. So is GoSMS.
If you go to the market and search BigSMS, that is a clean solution to the problem. It isn't an OS fix, but it's a very simple front-end that allows you to get around the problem. It integrates fully with your native messaging and is free.
Not an OS fix, but the next best thing.

My device is rooted. I tried to fix the app myself, but after compiling the app would not run anymore.
Currently, I just switch to GoSMS when the stock app says my text message is too long (hooray for copy/paste).
I have seen BigSMS already, I might give it a shot.
Thanks for your reply, anyway.

This feature is also present in Ice Cream Sandwich.
The disgusting thing about it is this... knowing what I know, there is no way that Google released Ice Cream Sandwich without a way of toggling this particular setting (the conversion I mean) which means the feature was actually REMOVED from the Messaging app, rather than pure ignorance which we've seen from manufacturers in 2.x.
Well, there is a very simple setting inside the messaging app. The app has a hardcoded limit of 4. I tried changing this but, like I said before, the app would not run anymore.
This could be because of my phone not being deodexed.
I was asking if anyone else had any experience with this, because my android modding experience is very very limited.
See this thread.

Yes, the limit is hardcoded, Some devices uses 4, others uses 3 and some HTC's use 5. The thing is, Google implemented a patch for disabling it in 2.2 Froyo. Basically not so you could change the limit, but you could enable/disable whether the conversion took place. They implemented it and major manufacturers like Sony, Samsung, HTC, decided to avoid implementing the patch. So, 2012, 2 years after Froyo, the patch still isn't present in Gingerbread 2.3.5 for SGS for example. It's disgraceful by the major manufacturers to have this little care for the users.

[Q] Red Underline Spellcheck?

Hey hey,
Coming from Nexus devices with pure AOSP roms I've never realized how much I took this feature for granted. On the S4 if you misspell a word it won't show up with a red underline which would usually give you an option to tap and see suggestions. This is entirely different than autocorrect (after hitting space) on a keyboard which can be accomplished with latinime or any other jellybean keyboard. I've read Samsung had to remove it for some patents regarding Apple.
Upon reading threads for the s3 and note 2 it seems that this is something that can be done by editing two files secsettings.apk & framework2.jar which is information I came across in this thread for the note2.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34829337#post34829337
Does anyone think this same process might work on our S4 as well? Or is there another proven mod already to get the dearly beloved red underlines back?
Not sure if anyone has figured this out yet. I admit it's the one thing that bothers me after moving from iPhone to Android. I flashed the 4.3 Google edition ROM to see if there was any difference but unfortunately it's still lacking. The improved keyboard/autocorrect has made things more tolerable, however I've still missed some misspellings in my work e-mails
With CM 10.2 nightlies out I may be switching soon, but I'm curious if anyone has come up with a solution.

This feature is a part of the keyboard.apk rather than the phone itself. There are dozens of alternate keyboards on the Play store. Many have the redlining feature. You don't even have to be rooted to replace the keyboard

[Q] Seeing real emoji and using iphone texting on galaxys3 SGH-I747

So i am new to this and i really only want to root so i can see emoji. I DONT WANT A IPHONE!!! and I DONT WANT GO SMS EMOJI!!! I simply want to know if there is a [ROM} for seeing emoji and and iphone messaging or imessage, for free. Also can somebody tell me how to get apple applications like facetime or something else. If it is not possible please let me know. (idk if i used the word rom right) but can somebody please help or should i just shut up and get a iphone even thought i love my galaxy. Please answer my question or tell me a link. PLEASE HELP! Thank you.
Enabling emjoi is different depending if you're on an AOSP based rom or stock. On AOSP when you go into the messaging go to settings and scroll down to the MMS part, you'll see an option to enable emoji support.
On stock roms, iirc, you need to install the emoji dictionary under languages in settings. I don't think stock rom's emoji support is quite the same as AOSP or iOS devices. Perhaps someone with stock could shed some light on this.
As far as facetime & other Apple apps, no sorry its not possible. There's no way to port Apple's native apps to Android, it's also illegal since you'd be using apples proprietary code and violate copyright laws. AFAIK there's no 3rd party app that will let you use FaceTime or iMessage on Android since it needs to connect to Apples servers.
Shut up and get an iPhone!!!!!!
Haha no jk yeah everything featured on iPhones is closed source, so its not possible.
There is stock Samsung Touchwiz ROMs with the AOSP messaging built in which let's you use emojis like iOS. Facetime, iOS keyboard, iMessage, iOS music player are all part of iOS and will never be part of android

[Q]Request with help, how to use emoji

Hi, my GF has got a HOX (stock, non root, last official update). It is possible to use emoji without installation of any other app? She use stock sms app. I get info about she is getting emoji, but she can't use when composing new sms. Can someone post few screenshots, step by step how to use emoji in stock HOX sms app?
Thanks.
Ps. I can't check cause i have different phone and i will meet with her on next week.

Fast answer, it is really works when someone bump? Tons of people read nobody cares to answer like: "check this or sth other, etc"... Quo vadis xda
~sent via n5
You can download a keyboard app that supports emoji.
For example, I use this app. It says it's not compatible with the HOX but it works flawlessly. I can give you the APK file to install if you're interested.
Ok thanks, as i said i found many emoji keyboard apps, but tell me obe thing. HOX can show received emoji from other people, but i don't know how to use to send from HOX (don't know cause i don't have HOX atm, and i can't check settings etc.)
Anyway that keyboard which You link it is work like addon? I don't want to change other keyboard instead stock sense keyboard (stock keyboard is really cool)

Is there any point of rooting just for IOS emojis? [Galaxy S20+ 5G]

I know people are going to **** on me for it, but I can't tolerate android emojis, and the only way I know of to do it is to use emoji switcher by rooting (I had an S8+), but rooting my S8+ almost put me into a bootloop and it has progressively slowed down my phone over time, so I'm quite concerned about doing it to a brand new S20+ 5G. Is there any offmarket app that can be downloaded that has this capability? I really don't wanna be rooting a brand new S20. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
The Textra SMS app will let you choose which style of emoji you display (some of them are an extra purchase, $1.99 I believe). It is a full replacement for the messages app, though. It does have a ton of customization in addition to the emojis.

Without root, no app will be able to replace your emoji font system-wide.
And actually, because of how the new system partition works in the S20(*) devices, really the only practical way to replace emojis is via a custom Magisk package (because you cannot directly write to /system anymore, at least not for now).
That's what I'm doing on my S20+, at least. I'm using a modified Magisk module I based off another XDA project (San Francisco Fonts), with iOS 12 emojis, it works relatively well, say 8.5/10 (the sprites get cropped when rendered at some apps or locations)
I use Chrooma keyboard, this has iOS style emojis
If you decide so, go for it. Personally, I would never root for such a thing, but this is utterly up to you and your free decision. No need to **** anybody over such a thing ?
