Howto become oneplus X for getting operator discount - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

I have a provider which provide unlimited data plan which offer almost 30% discount for relatively small list of device. This detection happen every billing period. If you using other device more than 7 days in a month you will not getting the discount.
My question is, can I change something in oneplus 3 so it's identified itself as oneplus X? since X is in the list.

any idea?

Install xposed and use module called device faker

I'm fairly sure that it is done on per IMEI number which you want modify.

may be you can try build prop edit.
but I am not sure if it works or not.
I don't know how operator detects what device we use. if we able to know how they detect the device then it will be easy to provide concrete answer

If you dont have any app installed from operator they cannot detect what device you use. Sim card doesn't read phone infos and transmit them. They work via Imei method. You can spoof it via xposed modular package. Try it and inform us back

isn't this fraud though?

Yes, this would be fraud. Discussion of and instruction on modifying the IMEI number of a device are prohibited on XDA.

Network Unlock Codes (GSM only)

Note: This is a discounted service We at Brightstar Electronics do not offer any free codes
Our hours of operation is 9am to 7pm EST. Any request that are made after we have closed will be noted and an Email will be sent when we open to request permission to proceed. We will not proceed until there is a confirmation.
Hey guys I'm offering a new network unlock service in my area and felt I should share it with my Xda-developers community. considering the research I've made of other unlock companies I consider myself one of the cheapest. Please know that all codes are based on the individual IMEI number and that each brand has its own price. Our codes are always updated and individually bought from the manufacturing company. The codes will come with a video showing how to enter the codes.
Please be advised that some codes depending on the make and model of the phone might take up to 24 hours. These phones are usually older models so if you just bought your phone no worries, your code will usually be sent within 1-15 minutes if there is any delay I will notify you.
Again this is a service usually offered to my area so I have no website at the moment to directly go to. I will be making one once the demand grows and my company becomes more known for this service.
email me with your make and model, COUNTRY (really important), carrier, and IMEI.
The IMEI number is usually found on the back under the battery. For some phones you can find it in the network information portion of your settings.
[email protected]
Thanks for your support of my new business because this site is where it all began. Thanks xda-developers for all your hard work I hope to return the hard work.
Please be advised that I won't post any codes on this site due to confusion that that code my work for everyone which it won't. Each code is based on the phones IMEI number.

I had a hell of a time dealing with not just T-Mobile, but Motorola customer service and the seller I bought it from. Initially I thought it was like someone here suggested and he was selling an unpaid bogo phone. Turns out the device was paid off but never activated or linked to an account. For that reason T-Mobile could not or WOULD not unlock it.
Saying it couldn't be unlocked seemed like bs to me. The imei came back clean, I had proof that I bought it and a T-Mobile employee even tossed in his sim and was able to make/receive calls. I had even tried to use cellunlocker.net but then weren't able to unlock the phone and fortunately refunded me as advertised.
The whole thing has been a nightmare and I'm frustrated and ready to be done with it. I really like the phone (I've had two now ffs) and would love to be able to root/flash custom roms when they become available but that doesn't matter if I can't use my phone as a phone.

Can you please elaborate? Do you mean flashing roms or firmware? Have you done either on this device? I haven't had a Motorola since the Atrix 4g, but I remember flashing different firmware on it. I'm coming from Sony where you have to unlock the bootloader, install a custom recovery and then flash supersu to obtain root.
Honestly I'm not too worried about flashing custom roms so much as I am having root. I have never owned an unrooted phone and have gotten used to to a few root apps, primarily titanium backup and adaway. I've gotten used to to no xposed one 7.1.1 but those two apps are must haves.

I'm going to retract my pledge as I no longer have the At&t model. After quite a bit of work I was able to get a T-Mobile unit sim unlocked. Aside from preferring the black color it's a win in every way. I got mine on eBay new for $550 vs Att's $809, and has less carrier bloat, better battery life and an unlockable bootloader.

I think it can but I don't want to have to go through the entire process of getting a device unlocked again. Maybe if a good deal comes up on an unlocked black one I'll flip my gray for it. It's currently in a case so I can't tell anyway.
I'd like to do the first guy's offer. I will pay whoever can unlock the at& moto z2 force bootloader 25$. I unlocked it for MetroPCS

I am currently in talks with ATT'S executive support who have direct access to the legal team, Etc.. I explained that they were in violation of FCC Title 47 part 27.16 where they are not allowed to disable any features. Which they have by directly linking the hotspot functionality to the ATT network preventing me from using that feature on any other networks. After I explained that in detail how they were violation they are actually now looking into a way to unlock my bootloader so I can replace the ATT software with whatever I please. Received my phone call today and as expected they gave a **** excuse of "We do not support unlocking of the boot-loader due to it can make software unstable" So I asked for legal information so I could take them to small claims since that is an option he came back with you can find that info on att.com so ATT is going to force my hand I believe this is something I can win in small claims I am asking if there is anyone out there that would like to help throw resources together to make my case stronger against them when I take them to court I would appreciate it.

and you technically agreed to this when you bought the device from AT&T, if you wanted to unlock the bootloader you should have bought the Sprint/TMO/Global variants

i fully understand this, and it is regarding the use of AT&T software. for the most part we do not want to run, use, or manipulate the AT&T firmware. i want to show support in this effort, as we should be able to remove the software and reinstall any other i wish as long as i accept that my warranty is now gone forever.

Unlock Samsung Galaxy Book2 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 ARM64 Windows 10 Desktop Device)

Hey folks,
I've got a brand-new Samsung Galaxy Book2 device. Great tablet, runs full Desktop Windows 10, including x86 emulation, and native ARM64 compiled app support of course.
The party ended when I found out its locked to AT&T.
I'm even an existing AT&T customer but their unlock request process didn't recognize the IMEI of the device, so I wasn't able to follow through with it. I have no contract and paid full price for the device so I'm already eligible for the unlock.
Having inserted my AT&T SIM into the device, their app didn't manage to read my cellular line number, instead displaying garbage.
Please see the attached screenshots. I circled the region where my cellular number displays as garbage. Disappointing to find such a buggy app inside an otherwise excellent hardware product and platform.
Does anyone know how to work around this buggy app to unlock the device? I'd really rather not have to return it...
I'm having the same issue.
For anyone reading this, if you bought a Samsung Galaxy Book2 Windows 10 (ARM) tablet (**SM-W737A**), there is an issue with AT&T customer support not knowing how to unlock these devices. If your Book2 has **arrived** from Samsung within the past 15 days you should go ahead and return the device as it will take a while for AT&T to figure out this mess.
##Issue
These devices are being shipped network locked to (AT&T) and they lack the internal documentation for the customer service agents to unlock them. These devices contain a **Qualcomm X20 Gigabit LTE** modem that requires a code to be entered by the user of the device before it can be used with a different carrier.
##Example
I bought my device from Samsung.com and it arrived a month later. This device is fully paid off. **This is not a subsidy or contract device**. When it arrived, the modem won't allow for me to use it with a FreedomPop sim.
[The device needs a password to unlock it.](https://i.stack.imgur.com/ws7aR.png)
[But AT&T thinks that its already unlocked.](https://i.stack.imgur.com/x6p2S.png)
##Problem
Calling advanced technical support does not help. (I've tried 10 times, each time taking over an hour for them to help). They think this is a problem caused by Samsung. As their system says that its unlocked and their documentation says that there is no code to enter to unlock it.
Even going into an AT&T store and having a store manager call customer support does not work. As AT&T is very rude to their own employees and doesn't believe the store manager as well. The documentation that the customer service agents have on this new and uncommon device is wrong.

Does anyone have an idea to solve unlock at&t the device?
Solution?
Hey Bro, did you found an solution for this device already?

Easy way to get bootloader unlock got Oneplus 7T

This post will apply to anyone with a Oneplus 7T from Tmobile. My phone has not been paid off nor have I had this phone for over 40 days. 29 to be exact at the time of writing this. The key here is make them "liable"
I installed an app called VTS for Android, Android Vulnerability Test Suite.
The app will show Kernel mine was 4.14.117-perf+ Build Model mine HD1907. Also gives more but you got my point. Once app opens touch the green clip board on bottom right. This will give you two known vulnerabilities
CVE-2015-6616 & CVE-2015-1474. Now dial 611 and yet them know you know about the CVE-2015-6616 which allow for remote code execution. Tell Them its also been patched by google to fix the hole but you can't apply the patch due to a locked boot loader. And if they refuse to unlock then on the record you make them liable if identity theft occurs because of the known vulnerabilities that the "service" ie Tmobile refuses to correct. My tier 3 tech support or above top secret rep named Christy called me back in three days as she promised. I went over my concerns about the CVE's i mentioned again, at the end of the call she walked in through the oem unlock setting thats hiding under the network settings in settings. The key here is make them liable...Hope this helps

Thank you for this guide... Tmobile has horrible customer service. I highly doubt they give 2 ****s.
To give a sheet or not to give a sheet that is no question
Well I guess I made a strong enough case for them too give a sheet cause it worked for me. Yes I spent 30 minutes pleading my case enough for them to give two sheets. General rule of thumb; if you look at the outcome as impossible, impossible your outcome will be.
There's literally a thread on the News, Guide, and Discussion forum where you can PM a guy here who is presumably an insider at T-Mobile .
You can ask anyone on that thread he's legit and will do it in a few days of you asking.

Question A52S/sm a526b/ds successfully rooted with camera working+ demo unit baseband 0000 imei question problem.

I purchased this phone unknowingly that it was a demo version.
I removed the demo version from it via the code, reset and then flash and update.
The dual imei numbers are both 0000 when I typed some code ( cant remember it showed that the imei is ok)
I wanted to get it repair via some of those remote box services. I dealt with very rude unpleasant person who was impolite, told me to install quite old xsg rom which is different csc compared to my original rom. When I flashed under imei there is UAE csc and new lines added under: TRA ID :
and TA : , and these two were not there before, device also shows just as a52 instead as a52s as previously. The person suggested the rom based on the build number that I sent him.
Afterwards he was asking for pictures and then blocked me.
Im wondering If I can fix this unit to usable cellular state with working real imeis
I thought xposed modules would help, but it seems they only help with apps and only change imei on them.
I highly doubt that this device has banned imei.
I would be happy to help you to root it and I would appreciate if someone can help me.
I searched many threads without success, I know the efs/qcb is probably corrupted
What route I should go to fix this device?
If it is a demo version and has no IMEI this tells you that this legally is no mobile device that is approved to use with operators. Inserting a new IMEI can not be legal in normal countries. IMEI is a device identifier sent with all phone traffic to ensure that the device is a legitimate one and is not stolen and black (do not work at all) or grey (works but flagged to be traced) listed.
Go back to the seller and demand your money back!
I hoped that someone with more experience with this would chime in, on these new galaxy devices the imeis still seems to suppose to be there, in galaxy 8 or older galaxy version there was no 4g module and antenna removed, I think this is what you are talking about right ? and it was purchased on ad.
Im wondering if these services like chimera can fix it.
I thought it's unrootable. How did you do it?
