I'm using the N930FD version with the latest firmware.
The iris scanner has worked very well, very fast.
But today I was removing the stylus about the same time as the scanner was scanning. And it crashed. I had to use the power button and volume down restart to get it back.

LOL
here I was thinking the Iris scanner caused a car accident, just by reading the title

Anyone how where in the system files I could find and disable the screen waking to anything but when I push the hardware buttons.? Im having a problem with the screen randomly waking thus draining the battery.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Id cheak to see if it was your buttons first...cheak by lightly pressing them to see if a brush of a hand could cause your wake issue

Thanks for the response I was messing around in the keylayout folder and disabled my home button wake and the issue has gone away for now. Which doesnt make a whole lot of sense but does at the same time. The phone fell in the toilet at 1 time and I guess I have some internal issues now. I wasing thinking to begin with that the phones radio was waking the phone because the screen would randomly wake every 10 secs. But if I put the phone in airplane mode it would stop. But apparently the way it looks now is disabling the home button wake has stopped it....**** I really dont know and this probably dont make any sense to those reading it, but its working fine right now. Thanks for the response though man

Well....did you reboot?
I think I hate this fingerprint scanner. I'm not sure and still need to test but, I have so many freezing issues and lag issues with unlocking the screen while fingerprint scanner is on. I have to test more to be accurate but, yeah.
Maybe a factory reset?

I have no problem with mine. Use it daily to hide stuff in the gallery and note and such.
Today I kept my OP3 (Stock Rom Rooted) for 10/15 minutes the phone in my pocket and it become extremely warm (seems to be nabk with my OP2) !!
I made the following thoughts:
- the ambient display wakes up the phone and make it warm
- the FPS feels "something" and it wakes up the phone
- the proximity sensor doesn't work properly
Does some of you ahve the same issue ? Any feedback is welcome !
Now I disabled the ambient display, and let's see what happens.
I am facing same Heat issue when in pocket and riding the vehicle. Have disabled Gesture control in phone setting, Let us see the result.
yes..me too facing the same heat issue
Same here

I don't use the gestures, except the double tap to wake which honestly is use less with fps...

I didn't used your thread just because you talk about energy and not heat (even if usually mr Joule said these are linked)... BTW I read it's because of fps: could be... I want to try the setup without gestures and ambient and than I will confirm it!

Hey!
it also generate heat here...
It's definitely the fingerprint sensor. Face the screen outwards inside your pocket and the problem doesn't occur anymore (thanks @Rauttis)
This happens to me also but I have no gestures enabled on the lock screen so it can't be that. Thus as MagDag says, it is probably the fingerprint scanner. I'll try to face it outwards to prove it.

I have no problems so far. Using it for a week now.

Due to Gestures Fingerprint sensor, confirmed for me (haven't tried with Gestures ON and fingerprint sensor OFF) . Ambient display is on.

I used the following setup: no gestures, Yes ambient, fps on the outside side of the pocket... Seems extremely better (with 38 degrees here during the day)

Same problem for me too..
same issue and the screen is showing the message "too many attempts. try again later" i can't use my smartwatch because the phone make a call or sent a message it self in my pocket.

It's not due to gestures. As I said above, I have gestures turned off (and ambient display off too) but this problem still occurs for me, frequently.

Hi, yes, I think it is due to the fingerprint sensor. I must have placed the phone facing away from my skin after disabling gestures (which was pretty stupid).

I have the same problem especially when at work although my pants are slim so the phone is against my body but going to try turning gestures off and seeing if the issue remains
I also have the same problem, thinking of returning the phone(ask for a replacement)

same problem here... if I turn off fingerprint then it will be fine. the sensor is too sensitive
Out of random, usually when I take it out of my pocket, my OnePlus 3 (Soft Gold) doesn't register that my finger is touching the fingerprint scanner. It doesn't vibrate or anything. It's quite random and dont know why it's doing it. When it doesn't do it, it works perfectly fine. Fast as ever! Has anyone else experienced this issue with their OP3?

And I would say it does it only 5% of the time.
When the proximity sensor is triggered, opt goes into pocket mode which disables the fps. Check if you are covering the proximity sensor

Hi Connor,
i'm experiencing the same issue but it seems to be more like 20 percent of the time, depending on how long I keep it pressed there. Did you figure out what was wrong?
-Bob
The same exact things also happen with my OP3 A3000 Soft Gold, sometimes when I put it in the pocket for a long time (probably around 20-45 minutes), it doesn't instantly recognize my fingerprint anymore.
But it only happened on random occasions and not so often, so I don't' really mind it. My workaround for this is just pressing the power button to light up the screen and put my finger on the fingerprint scanner and it will be unlocked as usual.
BTW, I'm on OOS 4.0.2 and Franco R10 kernel.
Happens to me too, but rarely. When the phone is left untouched for a long time. I have the graphite one.

This can be due to the doze which deactivate the sensor and hence makes it slow or unresponsive

Well there are two doze
Normal and advanced
You will be familiar if you have used apps like naptime force doze etc

I too have the same model but it hasn't happened with me ever.
I would suggest you to record several fingerprints of the same finger...
But if the problem persists try factory reset:good:
Actually, I have the same issue. I guess I swipe my finger too quickly sometimes
So again this same issue. ): My phone was just placed down on a table. And I went to pick up and the home button and fingerprint scanner stopped working. I sent the phone into Oneplus Repair to get the screen and the buttons fixed. But a little while after they stopped working again after a couple of months. I have no idea. I have a custom rom (Evolution X) and Magisk Root.
Get on screen navbar.
Yes, but it sucks not having a fingerprint scanner.

You can flash OOS and see whether they work. If they don't work on OOS, it may be a hardware issue.
Ok Thanks!
