I recently purchased a galaxy note 2 E250K phone. But it seems like there is either a software issue, or probably it is still locked
- everytime i boot up the phone, i get that annoying OLLEH logo (instead of the galaxy logo)
- when i try and access my vm from the number pad, the number 1 button does not have that voicemail icon, that indicates its a VM button, in addition, when i press and hold the 1 button, it asks me to create a speed dial, not enter the VM number
- when someone calls me, and i reject the call, it hangs up on them, not forward them to the VM
- i have some apps still show korean language, even though i changed the language to english
- i called my cell phone network provider, they have reset my account 6 times, no help
Any ideas of what can be done?
I was told that my phone could be still locked by a contract from the KT mobile provider in Korea
i am in a desperate state right now, since i have been looking for solution for a month now, and i cant find any.
Is there anything i can do here?
Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks

Help!!!
trying to help my dad unlock his newly purchased secondhand spv m2000 /XDA11i, there seems to be a problem with the phone as the phone will appear to dial out but will not actually call out, just keeps displaying " dialling " the phone will on other occasions try to dial out but will be cut off after 2 seconds.
in the phones settings it shows the outgoing call as 0 hours, 0 mins, 2 seconds but this cannot be changed - is this relevant to the 2 second cut off problem ??
lastly hopefully if he can get the phone working he wants it unlocked to all networks, tried clicking on the relevant file download on this site but keeps comming up age unavailable - anyone know what happening and if the file is indeed still the required file ??
the code on his phone is " NM8 blueangel " is this okay to unlock with the aid off the unlocking download file off this site??
have suggested to him the phone may infact be blocked ?? would this be the cause off the above problems if this indeed was the case ??
any advice/ suggestions would certainly be much appreciatted.
Just been advised from dad that there apperas to be no network connection at all on this phone probably hence the reason it attempts to dial out but infact does not !!
is there possibly a setting that he may have adjusted that is caused this problem ?? really does both off us stumped !!
anyone any suggestions at all what could be wrong ??
Hey everyone, got a quick question.
I just finished installing the WM6.1 ROM for my T-Mobile dash, and it looks really nice. Everything is working fine, but I have two small problems.
The first thing is that for some reason, my phone wants to put a + in front of all outgoing calls. So if i make a contact in my address book with the phone number of 212-555-1212 and try to call them, the phone places the call as +2125551212 and I get an error from tmobile saying that 'The international phone call you are trying to make cannot be completed...' I realize that + denotes the international dialing prefix, and I can get around it by setting up all my contacts with a '1' before the area code, but there has to be a simpler solution as this was not the case with the original rom. If I dial a number normally, it doesn't put the + before it. Any ideas?
Lastly, I am having a hard time finding out how to disable the JOGGR from doing in-call volume adjustments. While I like it for scrolling, I find it really annoying in phone calls as it is constantly missreading my face as my finger and adjusting the volume up and down. In the original t-mobile rom there was an option under settings for it, but I can't see it in the new rom. I went into the registry editor and tried disabling one function that looked like what I wanted to turn off, but it didn't work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

No idea about the + but the JOGGR disable is still in the Settings. It is on the 3rd page, #3 JOGGR.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I am able to disable the JOGGR completely using that, but I was hoping for a way to use it for scrolling, but not for volume control.
In regards to the + problem, I went through every option in Settings and couldn't find anything. All the Regional information is correct. I even used the RegEditor to search for + in the entire registry, and it came up with nothing relevant.... Weird. Especially because even if this is an international version, there shouldn't be a + in front of all calls by default, because that would force an international call no matter what country you are in...
Well, I think that it fixed it self in regards to the + problem. Even though I had done so before to no success, figuring that it is running a Microsoft product, a couple of reboots later and it seems to have gone away. Hopefully this isn't a bug that will continue to resurface or is the tip of a larger iceberg.
Just FYI, the + is the prefix for international dialing. If you input all your contacts as +1-404-555-1212 you won't have the problem (1 is the country code for the USA). Another plus to this method is that, if you should go outside the US to a country that uses the GSM network, you can dial your contacts directly via whatever carrier you're on there.
Managed to get a HTC Desire for an absolute steal of a price as the seller had managed to forget his lock pattern and hadn't set up a google mail account to bypass the lock pattern. Having used Android phones before I knew that if I could just figure out the correct combination of buttons on startup I'd be able to reset the phones to factory settings and have a working phone.
So, I quickly bought the phone, figured out the "Power+Vol Down" combination and ran a factory reset from within that menu.
The phone restarted and I went through the setup and everything seemed fine, until I tried to send a text/make a call.
When I send a text message, I get the message sending failed error and it retrys various times before the phone finally gives up and stops trying.
When I try and make a call the phone just hangs for a couple of seconds on the dialing screen, beeps and cuts off (as though I have no signal).
I assumed that the phone had been blocked, hence the seller was selling it so cheap and he had come up with this story of locking it out, but after having a play I realised the internet was working perfectly and I had full HSDPA signal. Now correct me if I'm wrong but I'd have no sort of connection if the phone had been blocked by the carrier?
I assumed this was a software issue and have updated from 2.2 to 2.3 but still the same issue. After updating, I've also realised that I am unable to change network carriers (I'm on TMobile and they now share networks with orange).
My sim works perfectly in other phones and if I put another sim in the Desire, it still has the same issues. The phone is locked to TMobile (not that I think that would matter), running the official HTC 2.3 Gingerbread release and as far as I'm aware my APN settins are all okay.
If anyone could shed any light onto what is going on here, and hopefully to a fix then it would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in adavnce

my apologies, thanks for moving me to the correct forum
I went through the process of changing my number through Verizon's website, and I am having problems programming my phone. I did *228 and hit 1 to reprogram and everything went fine. "Programming... SPL Unlocked" with the background music, then the automated voice telling me to please wait while my phone is being programmed.. then 5 seconds or so later my phone makes this stuttering noise like the phone is lagging and then it just shuts off and restarts.
I am not able to to program the phone successfully and I have no idea what it could be. My phone is unlocked and rooted with the Virtuous Affinity ROM.
If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it. My phone is useless and I need it to function asap. The only thing I could think to do next is a hard reset, but I don't know what kind of implications that would have or if it's even necessary.
Thanks.

I have to sometimes set the CDMA Options/System select to "Home Only" other wise I get a recording telling me to enter an area code with this number.
If you can dial ##778# Send and access the menu for setting up all the data settings, you will need to call VZW from another line or a land-line.
Just be sure to have the stock software version handy to tell them "Oh here it says version 5.10.605.9".
The data settings will stick between flashing ROMs.
You might need to suggest to them to reset your "A" key (Authentication Key).
Tech support is open 24-7 so use it, They get tired of hearing me telling them what their screen shows.
If all else fails, do a nandroid and hard reset.
If your in a fringe area like I am, set the CDMA Options/System select to "Home Only" and do the *22899 send and if that doesn't fix it then get the tech rep back on the line, hop the hoops and do the ##778# Send and put in Home SID/NID and all the rest.
I usually use QPST to backup my data settings but the last time switched phones I forgot that the A Key is ESN specific, so I needed to have it reset.
Good luck..
Could some of you who know code help me with a problem I'm having with any custom ROM on my LG G3?????
No matter what I set my phone, additional settings, it shows private number to anyone I call. The "tick" for show number stays put, but it still says private number??? My provider says all is set correctly on their end. On stock LP it works fine......just NO custom ROM??
Never had a problem like this before on Galaxy equipment? My current phone is LG G3 At&t, unlocked.
Thanks for any help.........want to use my layered SlimLP.
Solved
Just in case anyone else experiences this problem...........new sim card was the answer?? Also giving a stronger signal.
