Is anyone else having problems with Samsung Could Backup failing on the apps backup? It gets all the way through all the other items, but part way through the apps it fails with no specific error other than it failed. I have the T-Mobile version.
Same here, fails on apps

Have you guys used package disabler to disable any bloatware? This is what caused it to fail for me, I had to re-enable all packages, update, then re-disable.
I ended up just disabling samsung cloud

Yup I did, makes sense!
Thanks man I will try that in a bit
I keep getting a failed server error on mine too.
I've just individually disabled a few bloatware apps I don't use, but not run any package disables.
I had installed the older version of SNotes and find I can't have both Samsung Noted and SNotes set to sync at the same time or It gives that error message. I turn off one, sync, and then switch to the other and it syncs. I keep both versions so I can use screen off memo, which only works with Samsung Notes.
I'm having the same issue with it failing on app backup, any fixes?

Does anyone have a list of safe bloatware to uninstall? e.g. at&t Navigator.
The reason I ask is because I changed my DPI and even after a factory reset it was stuck at "at&t ready2go" i believe it is due to the app being uninstalled...
Any help would be appreciated.

If you are not sure. Rather than uninstalling right away, you can disable the app from application manager.
Note: if app has been updated, you need to uninstall updates first then disable.
Here's what I have disabled on mine:

I did the exact same thing as dnanj, I took everything AT&T and froze it. I did not touch any of the Samsung apps and of course the Google apps (I'm bowing to my Google overlords as I type this) as I would assume they would interfere with their U/I and OS.

I'm not rooted. But that is the apk I Debloated to block updates. It quietly kept the 611A update away for a week.
And when I went to accept 611A, as soon as I un-blocked LGDMSClient.apk, the update immediately started downloading again.

Should we remove that apk? Or the whole folder? Or just freeze the Update Center on tibu.

I ended up using Titanium Backup to just free the service that includes that APK.
Its named: System updates 1_14_10_0
Just freeze that if you have TB and then restart and you are good to go. If you try to do System updates on your phones settings, "Activity is not exist this device" now pops up.

If you froze it, then you should get an error when you check for software updates. It means your phone will not automatically check for updates either.

Exactly, I was stating that a good way to check is to attempt to check for updates. Sorry if it came across as me thinking something was wrong.
Ooops, I should have also stated that getting the error is a good thing and not an indication that something is messed up
quick question i got the system updates 1_14_10_0 frozen in TiBu. But when I filter search update its comes up a third apk called configupdater5.1-17437 the permission on this apk is. Download files without user notification and run at start up. I've currently frozen this apk with no side effects that i can tell
I love the translation.

Sorry to bump a dead thread but I have System updates listed twice. I froze both and when I click the check for software updates, settings force close. Seems to be only on that setting. Is it normal though? Did anyone have it listed twice?
I have two listed and froze both, I'm not having any issues with force closing just getting the same toast notification that the service doesn't exist.

to get rid of the security notice you will get(because the system is now rooted) simply install root explorer(or any root browser) and go to /system/app and delete securitylogagent or go into the folder and rename it adding .bkp to the end of the file name and reboot.

I began getting this, too, after rooting my Note7. I solved it the way others suggested, with Titanium Backup by freezing the Security Log Agent. That worked for me.

do you still have knox? i use samsung pay and security folder
You used the sprint method root at the N930V PHE or PH1? Not really related to thread, but just out of curiosity.
Same problem....
I'm having this same problem with my rooted note 7.
I've searched everywhere for securityagent on my note 7 and it's not there. The only way I can remove this threat found/restart device, is to remove device maintenance.
But then I lose the app done function and the advanced setting power saving mode.
I have disabled all knox and security realated apps.
But still still get the threat while device maintenance is there.
Does anyone know what the equivalent to securitylogagent is on a note 7 ????
Any help would be much appreciated, I am a noob, until 3 days ago I knew nothing, but I managed to unlock frp and root my note 7, but its been stressfull. I need help now...thanks.

You should have a package named SecurityLogAgent. Disabling this will stop the security notifications due to rooting. If you're referring to the Samsung messages regarding the recall, then you need to disable the Samsung Push service or just the notifications.

I'm not referring to them notifications, I have disabled Samsung push.
There is no package with the name 'securitylogagent' on my note 7.
I have researched this alot before joining and posting here. Its simply not there, no matter what I use to look for it. Just not there..
I would really like device maintenance back.. that's how iv got it disabled at the moment.
I am referring to the 'that found/restart device" warning that flags up in device maintenance.

What firmware version are you on? What have you used to look for it?
I'm on 6.0.1, that I rooted on Sunday after I accidentally updated package disabler. I am a complete noob and have managed to just about get to this point without help.
I have looked for it using titanium backup, root browser and device control. It doesn't show on any...
So I have disabled a load of other things including device maintenance, com.samsung.andoid.sm.devicesecurity, and security manager service...
I was hoping one of these was the equivalent of securitylogagent.
Does this information below help?

So by the build number I see that you are not on a Verizon firmware so the app names may be different. It appears you have UK firmware so you will have to find what the app name is for that firmware.
What I can suggest is that the next time you get the notification, long press on the icon at the left. You should be taken to the notification options for that app and you should also see an app info button on the right. you may be able to track the actual app down using this info or at least disable notifications.
Thanks for your reply.
Oh crap, I'll never find it then...
Is there a way I could post an image of my system so as some experienced members on here may look at it.??
Thanks again.
Based on the title itself, what are the list of apps/packages that you guys removed (or can be removed) to debloat Mi A2 Lite?
Theres not that much bloatware in the device. And I think removing a system app will break OTA updates.
Uuuhhh. Welcome to my world. I don't like being tracked all the time by the countless sensors a modern smartphone has. Privacy is utterly important for me (and should be for everyone, but I'm not here to discuss this haha). Also, I hate making it easy to the multimillionaire companies profiting from selling and playing with your privacy. That's why I can't wait for the custom ROMs to start showing.
So, for now I disabled ALL google and all xiaomi apps. All of them except the "phone", "clock" and "carrier services" apps (the first 2 are too delicate for me and I didn't find a trustworthy alternative and I have no idea what the 3rd does, but seems important haha). Everything else, gone. Even "feedback", "PAI" and "Spock". And, of course, I don't have a google account linked to the device.
On the first boot, the phone connects to the internet and downloads a few other Google and Xiaomi apps. I prevented it to do so, so I wouldn't have to disable too many apps. I disabled google play services, play store and device setup (among the other ones) before connecting to internet.
Everything works fine in my phone (only one issue. Some apps rely on google services to show the map image. The image doesn't work while google services are disabled. But you can always enable it if you wanna use it).
Let me know if you have any question of any app/service/whatever you want to disable. I can share the alternative apps I use for the disable Google ones. I must say that most of them work even better.

You can uninstall non wanted stuff with the help of ADB without the need of rooting your phone. It doesn't get uninstalled for real, but hidden for the main user profile. Those apps can't run but OTA isn't a problem.

You can remove carrier services if you removed Google Messages aswell.

RCS allows for extra features in the Android Messaging app. The thing is most carriers have their own methods of supporting RCS in place so Google’s app is often redundant."

Shouldn't be a problem. If you disable/freeze a system app with for example Titanium Backup and you restore the stock system partition via fastboot afterwards, the disabled app is still disabled. So the conclusion should be that those changes to the app aren't touching the system partition at all and are stored to the data partition instead.
Don't hit me if this isn't the case.

Probably restoring backups of uninstalled apps isn't enough to be OTA ready, better just disable/freeze system stuff. You won't get free space fo to use after uninstalling anyways.

Ty so much,i've had a quick look and it seems promising. Not so happy about Java,it's needed, but if you promise me you didn't have OTA issues i'll surely use it for my purposes.
I have the Korean 6gb Tab S4 and the stock calendar is a little weird. It has some Korean stuff that won't translate (holidays, alternative holidays and government mandatory observances) plus the date is a little weird.
I tried a manually updating it and it wouldn't let me, it said it was already up to date. The app numbers are also different.
Anyway I was thinking of replacing it with the latest stock Samsung calendar from apk mirror. Do you think it is safe to Uninstall it? It won't let me from the stock app manager, but I could from titanium backup. My concern with that is that calendar storage (app/apk) would likely be effected as well. I'm just not sure what deleting and installing the apk mirror version of the calendar app will do to system stability.
Can anyone please advise me?
If there is a better forum for this question please let me know and I will post this question in the other forum.
