Migrate Apps from one WP handset to another w/same Windows Live Account - How?

So here is a strange one, and I was wondering if someone knows how to do this correctly.
With my new phone I am using the same Windows Live account as my other WP7 device. It automatically downloaded a few of the games I had on my Samsung, but not others. Like maybe a third of my games showed up.

I think the only way now is manually install all the apps and game you had purchase in marketplace by browsing the marketplace all over again...
Some nice tips to ease this progress, use Zune software rather than your WP7 when browsing the marketplace for more efficient

OK, it looks like I have to do it on the phone actually. On the computer, I click "Buy" and then it says the game is already purchased, but doesn't present me with an option to re-install, but on the phone it does.
Either way, it is still odd that some games downloaded and installed on their own, while others didn't.

zune can't tell what apps you purchase directly on the phone. Only ones that you buy/download through the zune software.
I have talked to the zune support team and they are trying to add the functionality in a future update of zune.

BINGO! That makes total sense as to why only a few auto downloaded.
Thankfully, NoDo made the marketplace 100x better to use. I was able to quickly find the apps and que them all up without any crash. A minute later, all my games were in their hub.
Lesson to be learned here: Download apps through Zune if at all possible.

[Q] Questions regarding WP

Hello,
I'm the new Lumia 900 owner. I was with Android for 4 years so I'm quite confuse now in WP territory and would like to ask some questions about it.
1. How to disable auto-rotate?
2. Is it possible to change the search engine from Bing to Google?
3. Is there a similar application for WP?
- Browser: Chrome, Opera, Firefox? Alternative: UC Browser.
- File Manager: Estrong? Not until we have a custom ROM.
- Social Networking: Instagram? Alternative - Fhotoroom (not tested it yet).
- Security: RSA Secureid? No RSA for WP.
- Email: Gmail, Lonelycat? Default app is good enough.
- Backup: MyBackup pro?
- Tweaking: ROM Control, ROM Toolbox? Not until we have a custom ROM.
- Remoting: MyMobiler?
- IM: Gtalk?
Will apps for WinMo works in WP? No.
How do I install apps in WP? Not until we have a custom ROM.
4. I found that the Outlook unable to show other folder's email beside Inbox. Is there any further configuration needed? Fixed.
5. Is it possible to define the sync period and method individually per folder? N.A
6. How do I export the call logs, SMS/MMS from Android and then import it to WP? Have to find out further.
7. Is there a way to make the notification pop up on the screen rather than display the count on the tiles? Found that only FB notification will appear on top, other notification like outlook email, gmail won't show.
8. I have the data and wifi active at the same time, which one is the WP using? How do switch off the data? Use Toggle.
9. How do I browse my files from the phone and from PC? Not until we have a custom ROM.
10. Is there such thing like a custom ROM? Waiting!
11. I read that Lumia 900 not entitled for WP8 upgrade? What's great about WP8?

lol, you are going to be one seriously disappointed Lumia owner, Most of what you have asked is only possible with a custom ROM, Guess what? There aren't any at present, Win Mo apps will not work on WP7, Gmail is easy to setup by adding an email account, You can easily link inboxes, You can switch off data in settings/network, Lots of threads lurking around on the features of WP8, WP7 phones will not be getting an update to WP8 but rather an update 7.8 which includes the new start screen from WP8.

[Q] losing icons, again

A while ago I lost my four office icons on the bottom of the screen. I got them back by deleted them and then re-added them. But now the video icon in the My Documents folder is gone. The folder is still there and I can click on it to view my videos but the icon is gone. I don/t want to delete it as I would delete my videos and I wouldn't know how to get the video folder back the office icons.
How do I get the icon back?
BTW, what I the point of jailbreaking a surface rt?

Icon issue I have no idea about.
Jailbreaking is easy to answer though. You are no longer restricted in what apps can run besides them being ARM ports (windows 8 is for x86 processors only. Windows RT is for ARM processors only. The 2 are not compatible so applications need to be recompiled for this platform). Normally you can only run apps from the microsoft store. These apps can only run in the ModernUI mode and not desktop mode, exception to this rule would be the apps microsoft pre-loads onto the device themselves. If you have a developers certificate then you can install apps you write yourself but you still have the ModernUI limitation. On an unlocked RT (I dislike the term jailbreak) then you can freely install apps which run in desktop mode. It certainly adds much more life to your Surface RT.
It would help if we knew what device you were using but I am assuming that from the quoted question you are using a surface RT.

Don't have an answer for you but I too noticed at some point my office icons turned to while boxes. I deleted them off the task bar and had to pin them back in. They've been ok since. Haven't had the same problem with my videos though.

The problem with the taskbar icons for Office is due to the update from the pre-release version of Office RT than comes with first-gen RT tablets to the released version that is pushed out over Windows Update automatically (the release version was available from a few days after RT itself was). You already found the solution: unpin them and re-pin them.

Candy Crush Saga for Windows 8 RT (Surface)

Hi,
Do have anyone news about coming apps for Windows 8 RT?
I'm happy with my Surface 2 but sometimes I'm thinking about the apps. So why they're need so much time to create any kind of app for Windows 8?
For example, "Candy Crush" is very popular on any system (iOS or Android) but why they need so long to think about it to implement this on Windows 8. I think Windows 8 is stable now and also ready for all these other apps.
What's your impression?

It's all about how many users you will get.

My impression is that the Facebook Flash version works just fine in IE on Windows 8/RT. The only reasons I can think of to have an app would be to play when no internet connection is available, or if you want to play it completely separate from Facebook. Then again, I'm kind of an app minimalist...

Well... u're right but I'm not wanna play some games via Facebook and I'm using the Facebook app not the IE. So I prefer apps for games ...

Hi there everyone.
After latest unigram update and adding In-App emojis keyboard I decided to make a new simple app to add support for latest emojis.
Using this app you can get the latest emojis of Windows 10 October update on your phone. This app is working on any Windows 10 Mobile OS version.
After installing this app only launch it and when you see Done message you can close and uninstall the app.
After completing the procedure do a reboot and you've done. You can see new emojis in your apps like Unigram. Keep in mind some apps like Official Telegram messenger or some others still can't show the new emojis because I think they are using their own emojis pack.
This app doesn't need interop unlock on Lumia x20,x30 and x40 series. But you need interop unlock on Lumia X50 series.

There are lots of ways.
Check this registry path :
SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\Fonts
Segoe UI Emoji (TrueType)
The value must be changed to seguiemj2.ttf
2. You can Check C:\Windows\System 32\Fonts
and check if there's a file named as seguiemj2.ttf
3. You can open a message in unigram app, Open stickers pack of unigram and tap on first tap (Emojis). All emojis there must be shown to you without any rectangle character.

So this is for viewing the emoji but not for having them show up in the emoji picker? Not complaining, just clarifying.

Can you make the same app, but with old weapon emoji?

I'm so sorry but it's not working on W10M 10.0.15254.562. Vertical squares still show in apps like Unigram and websites like "Emojipedia"
Also, ARM dependencies cannot be installed because higher versions of those packages are already installed. And the installation of Runtime 1.7 automatically restarts Interops Tools.
