Just came over this at the Nexus 7(2013) xda thread, and noticed that it also now supported the LG G4 H815 ...... was wondering if anyone has tried it, and if it worked fine on Marsmallow firmwares.... it says it can unlock the bootloader, flash recovery and gain root !
if so is this must be the first "one click" root tool for the G4 that not claims money to do it for you

Thats what I wonder too..... it says all H815 variants so maybe? If this works well on the G4 this would be a real easy way to require both Twrp and then gain root in a easy way :fingers-crossed: , thats why I wondered if anyone had tried it out

I tried and it asks for unlock files .bin
Hey guys, I tried unlocking it but it didn't work and after a bit of research i have gotten the impression that there won't be a way to unlock its bootloader for a long while (maybe never). I've had enough of LG and their BS so im selling my phone and buying a oneplus 3. I would recommed you do the same before the prices drop too much.

You probably need to unlock the bootloader, both in dev settings and again with fastboot. fastboot will wipe data

No you don't need to unlock your bootloader to root your phone. Some devices need it.
I bricked my phone while replacing KingRoot with SuperSu. I don't trust Kingroot, removing KingRoot method for LG K10 for now.

the kingroot method doesn't work for me.. I have k430n (mediatek variant)

i have not use this one but its similar.. i used for h811 system image... on mine i had to be on LP 10n not sure aabout your variant... then copy the system image file ... its a 4.2GB file then put phone into download.. i opened folder and do a comand promt in there.. follow the commands and it moves the system image enter leave and it restarts with root on the phone....
like i said this is for the tmobile h811.. but its similar to this guide never done this guide so follow their steps..... good luck

i know i did mine too.. i was afraid too.. but there was an eaiser way for my h811.. its the same but it only talks about that phone... but it should be similar..
Theres no one click methods unless bootloaders unlocked which dont look like is ever gonna happen. As long as you follow the steps ure pretty safe.
NOTE THIS IS GOR TMOBILE ONLY H811
just read and since its shorter maybe you can get an idea on what to do with the other method .. this guy says to read the low effort as its the same....

so i google more try to understand how can i unlock it unofficially, and found nothing, as well as try to google for a way to root it with out unlock bootloader, and also coulnt find.
im sure im missing something, cause i dont think its possible that there is no root for an old device, any help on how to root my phone?

unfortunatelly you cant unlocked till today.. maybe later if someone can do it... but you can add root to locked bootloader... i have not tried this method.. i tried similar to h811 tmobile.. but its the same procedure.. mine is unlockacle but i dont want to with the bootloop issue... unlocking bootloader voids warranty. and root too but you can always try the kdz that disables the big cores and undo the root..

thank you, i found the root for locked bootloader, i done it, but its only for 5.1 android, and i still cant flash roms, only one rom witch they make for locked bootloader, so after all the process went back to unroot 6.0 androis >:

I'm currently running 20h.. is there any way at all given the locked bootloader to
A) get root access?
B) install cm13?
If the answer is no.. i think I'll be sticking this back on eBay...

whenever the phone is rebooted i get an error message saying 'current version is not available for user. Can't find mathed cust for NT-code mcc/mnc[FFFFFF], subset[55]'

I just purchased a Verizon LG G8 that is unlocked and want to use it on Metro. I haven't gotten the phone yet but I would like to (if it's possible) flash a unbranded firmware. I'm confused about whether I can use LGUP or LG flash tool to do this. Can someone please tell me if this can be done and if so what is the best firmware to flash to have it unbranded with minimal bloat?
I miss the good old days on XDA where people actually came on XDA and there was always someone able to help out. I feel like that doesn't exist anymore. Too many phones and too many different carriers.
I don't think there's a patched LGUP to do this for LG G8 yet.

Is there a y method that currently works to flash firmware on the LG g8? I would like to flash the stock unlocked carrier unbranded firmware.
There is no way to flash through LGUP or any other tools currently but you can unlock boot-loader root and install firmware package through twrp but doesn't work for T-Mobile or Metro

There is a thread for it and same thing at the g7 thread. Just use octoplus jtag pro to flash the v35 engineering boot-loader to device and from there you can unlock boot-loader and do all the stuff. If you dont have octoplus jtag pro there is a guy who will do it for you he charges i dont know how much though.
