So i recently purchased the Lg G3 on Ebay because it was on sale and it seem like a good deal...............anyway ive had lots of phones from iphones to androids, i always love to root my devices now the issue now is that i cant seem to find a way to root this g3 with the one click root method or any other method (expect Kingroot). Everytime i try the one click root or any root it does all the loading and process and reboots but no super su or root happens. I finally looked around and found a post that said to use kingroot and i did and it worked, but the reason i want to root my device is to flash other roms and tinker with other things and i dont know how to do that without a recovery menu like twrp. I have the LG G3 AS985 which has literally no support anywhere when it comes to rooting or anything. So if i can get someone that knows either how to root it with one click or with kingroot and have the recovery work with it OR if he can at least show me how i can do it without a recovery meaning flash roms and stuff without a recovery using kingroot . (im a noob sorry) or if i can at least upgrade to marshmallow to have something a little nicer anyway any help would be great.
sidenote: i heard that i may be able to use the vs985 recovery with the as985 but i really dont want to brick my phone. Again im a noob so go easy on me pls.
Tried to post link but im a new user so here is the phone
Phone: LG G3 AS985
Firmware: 5.0.1

Rooting the phone is really easy, infact you can do it without even using a PC (towelroot). At the moment there is no custom recovery, but hopefully we will see that change once the phone is released in more countries (later this week).
As for unroot, one simple method would be to re-flash stock, but I assume you are looking for an easier solution than that.
That's what I am looking for too because of the bloody Barclays Bank app.
I want to root my LG G3, block ads, bloatware etc and then unroot to get Barklays app working
S4min, Grand 2, Note 2 - I always rooted phones and then unrooted by uninstalling root in SuperSu app.
Is there any similar method for LG G3?
Re-flashing to unroot doesn't make sense for me cos I will loose everything I needed the root for

I don't have my G3 yet to check (and not sure I will be rooting it straight away when I do get it, I want to see how far I can go without root first), but I cannot see why the unroot method in SuperSU would not work.

Flashing back to stock should take you back as if you have never rooted. Assuming all you did was root the phone.
If/when there are further modifications such as unlocking bootloader and flashing custom recovery images this might change.
Hello, i've trying for more than 2 weeks to root my lg g4 beat.
So i use kingroot but then when i try to use "supersu / superuser" binary can't be updated can't fix this problem.
(ok for king root i used 2 version one from play store(Fail to install) and the other one from their site this one said root was installed successful but i can't use super su or any super S application because "binary can't be updated fail etc etc".
So didn't work with kingroot for me so i found this on xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4s-world-root-lg-devices-t3231759 .... i think i did everything how the op says, i've trying 3 times to do this but all time all i got was a soft brick and my phone stuck on LG logo.
(then i need to install again the firmware ... 3 times...)
please can someone help me or explain me better how to root my lg g4 beat because i really need to root him and i can't find anything usefull on google because the little brother of G4 isn't popular at all...
all tutorials i can find on google are 95% copy-paste from xda....

Try KingRoot it work on 5.1.1
I have the K430DSf with Android 6.0, and the guys just say "try kingroot" like I was just a newbie. I tried every method I saw, Framaroot, Kingroot, Kingo Root, One Click, Towelroot, and all got the same result. It's time for dev's to work on something useful instead of saying "try kingroot", if we didn't try, we wouldn't even be here.
I've K430TR and it's MTK chipset. I'll start to work on it in 2-3 weeks. I hope, we'll have CyanogenMod 13.
Hi, is there something new? I just ordered this phone and I wonder if I will be even able to root it It is really not possible? What about VROOT? It worked on my older phone.
I have the Metro version of this phone the K428 and need to root this thing. Problem is that there is no support to be found on the android forums site or here. If anyone knows where to go for help please post a reply.
What about this tool? http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/debloater-remove-carrier-bloat-t2998294
Can anybody test it? It could be a workaround for deleting some bloatware without root.
also the usb otg not works.
waste off my mony
get 20 ero phone and you get one month batery life.
I rooted my AT&T LG G Pad 8.0 V495 right as it came in. I used Kingroot to root it and I didn't like the Kingroot manager so I switched the root access over to SuperSU and after rebooting I ended up stuck at the AT&T loading screen. I was now stuck in a boot loop and found no way out of it since I didn't have a custom recovery. I appreciate all the help that's given to me. P.S. I am fairly new to this so please mind me asking questions about something your statement has explained so I may get a better understanding of it.

Your best bet might be LG warranty service.
If you were on Lollipop before your tablet bricked, I have a thread in the General section where 1-2 people with a bricked V495 were able to flash the UK495 KDZ and everything worked except for mobile data.
But another user found that when he tried that after having bricked on the Marshmallow ROM, the display was messed up and wasn't usable.
I don't have the V495, I was just trying to help because there's been lots of people who did the same thing as you did.
So no matter whether you were on Lollipop or Marshmallow, I'm not responsible if flashing the UK495 KDZ doesn't unbrick it satisfactorily or bricks it worse. If the information helps, please thank the users I mention in my thread who did the actual work and were kind enough to report their results.
FYI, on any device its a crapshoot of you'll be successful switching from Kingroot to SuperSU. Kingroot changes often, works in a suspicious manner, and is very invasive putting stuff in the system partition that's not necessary for root.
On any device, one person can have success and the next person with the same device and setup might not.
Other Options?

Thanks for the info., however I would like to use the LG warranty service as a last resort. I looked online for any stock firmware(KDZ/TOT) I could flash but I ended finding nothing. I assumed that I couldn't find anything because AT&T doesn't release their firmware or it's just difficult to get a hold of. I would just want to know if there was any other options I could take before contacting LG or any KDZ/TOT files anybody has for my device they could share with me on this thread. Thanks for any help and info.
For the future
I guess once I get my device back up and running i'll just use Kingroot as a temp root since everytime I restart my device it removes the root. I'll just flash SuperSU next time and not attempt to switch root users to increase my chances of a soft brick.
I am really sorry for opening a new thread, but i have searched extensively and found nothing related to it.
The problem is I recently bought a G3 Ls990 Sprint and i used ioroot and that lg root script 2.4 to root my G3.
My G3 build number is Zv4, and it didnt rooted my phone.
Which i came to knew later that only stump can root zv4.
The problem is, it somehow managed to change my download mode and it is not working. it says secure boot error and flashes led then restarts, mobile is in use and it is ok except then the download mode and unrootable issue. So i cannot TOT or revert it to stock.
One more thing mobile is not rooted, flashify cannot work as it is not rooted.
Stump root shows as rooted and cannot root it, and root checker says not rooted.
Basically i cannot root it because stump shows it as rooted and i cannot install twrp etc on it.
So its quiet complicated as i dont know what to do.
I know basics and all and i am not a noob or amateur related to android I just flashed or done something wrong with out reading. As i have owned G4 V10 and G3.
