Pairing with Polar M400 - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone got experience about pairing G4 with Polar M400 sport watch? I have Polar and nonrooted G4 (MM 6.0, V20d-EUR) and I can't pair them. When I try to pair them, it always says: "Wrong PIN".
I was wondering, if pairing would work with rooted G4 and MM 6.0.1?

I wonder if issue is with LG or Polar, but none is owning the issue for sure. Probably because they're both cheap brands...

Bluetooth headset wont work in my Audi Q7

I have had loads of windows phones that have all worked pairing with my bluetooth car kit in my Audi Q7 but since I got the Touch Pro 2 it wont pair with my bluetooth kit. This is highly annoying. Anyone got any ideas.

One and heart rate monitor belt Polar H7

So I bought the Polar H7 heart rate monitor belt. It transmits both on 5kHz and also BT 4/BT Smart/BLE. I tried to check beforehand if it was compatible, which was not easy as HTC does not say that One is BT Smart Ready (that is the term for a phone) and the accessory shall be BT Smart compatible. So this post is just to bring the good news and to say I got it to work
OK, it is not so difficult as both Polar H7 and One is listed on BT's official site. Then I guess it should be straightforward..
However the app Polar Beat which goes together with H7 is not compatible with One, I tried to install it, but it is not possible to get it to work. So then what?
You use another app as iCardio, Runtastic pro or Endomondo, Endomondo which just today got support for Bluetooth Smart.
This works OK. However for stationary training Runtastic will not calculate kcals, so using iCardio or Endomondo should be the solution. I have not tried either of the last two yet.
Edit: I tried Runtastic Pro, iCardio and Endomondo at the Gym, 1 hr 20 min of Circle training not too hard intensity, I got 1055 kcal burnt with Endomondo which seems very high.
With iCardio app I got 724 kcals burnt which seems more reasonably. Probably high too, but at least more likely.
So I guess to soon to be impressed by Endomondo's new support for BT Smart
The blocking of Polar Beat seems to me to be because of commercial partnering between Apple and Polar, and possibly Samsung.
I have even called Polar headquarter in Finland to get an answer, but they will not say anything.
Some places it says that Samsung S4 and S3 is beta testing for android, I do not know. Of course, it is possible.
Anyway the belt works with different android apps, but I miss the Polar Beat app which seems a little more refined and advanced.
I would think Polar would want to sell the belt H7 to as many customers as possible, but I guess they are comitted to Apple and possibly Samsung.
As the belt both communicates with 5kHz and BLE it will show your pulse on training equipment displays in the gym and also on a Polar BLE compatible monitor as RCX5 or another.
I understand your frustration.

I am in the same boat and I used to use Runkeeper to track my runs and i loved it. But it doesn't support this feature and after inquiring with their help team it seems as though they have no intention of supporting it any time in the NEAR future if at all. I have since moved over to Map My Run and Map My Fitness, they can log indoor activities and pair VERY easily with the Polar H7. It's not a perfect situation but I hope that helps you until everyone else catches up with the curve.
Yes, like you, I manage , but I hoped Polar would make it possible to use One with Polar Beat.
Or that it will be other good apps to use.
At the moment I use several, but am not happy with any one.
I have used several apps, among them iCardio which pairs easily.
I was surprised that Polar Beat have released an update April 29 and now it is possible to install the app on HTC One, M7 and probably lots of other mobiles with BT 4 /BLE.
Good news, I thought.
However, so far I am not able to pair and get the app showing heart rate.
I have used my One with H7 and 4 apps and never had any problems pairing.
I even used 3 or 4 at the same time to compare, and no problems.
So I hope Polar will fix the app in a coming update, or does anyone have a solution?.
Update : I fiddled around and finally managed to pair with both Beat and iCardio active and paired iCardio first. Then Beat found the H7 belt and heart rate worked and showed.
I will try out Beat now and see how things works.

Anybody have pairing issues with certain devices?

Just bought a pair of Sol Republic Shadow Wireless earphones, and I would have never expected that it wouldn't be able to pair to the SmartWatch 3 because it's such a new product. Has anybody run into similar issues? I don't understand what the issue is because it had no trouble pairing with my Logitech UE Boom.
I use a "Mpow Cheetah Bluetooth Sports headphones" and got no problem.
Paired with the SW3 easily and can listen music offline directly from the watch.
Don't know why it wouldn't pair if it's bluetooth headphones.

[Q] Polar hear reate monitor for Sony Z3C - which will be best?

Hi,
I have to buy Polar Hear Rate Monitor for Sony Z3C (Android 5.0.2 Lollipop). I will use this polar with endomodo app. There are two option:
1) Polar H7
2) Polar Wearlink
My question is: which polar will be full compatibile with my sony z3c and endomodo?
What are differences?
Maybe there is something better on the market?
Its works with Endomodo: http://www.polar.com/en/support/FAQ..._Compatibility?product_id=30454&category=faqs
I was using Polar WearLink on my Z1C, give me some times to try
Tested on Z3C and is working in 98%, it`s seams that connection is loosing every ~8s (see attached file) and then is back, i had this same issue on Z1C, Polar says that this is happen on phone with Bluetooth 3.0.
Try H7
H7 works without issues with Z3C. Works with Enomondo just fine.
I have wearlink and I had issues with it. After sending back and forward to repair (warranty) I got finally to the conclusion while discussing with service expert.
Wearlink is done for Bluetooth 2 (B2) and while Bluetooth 4 (B4) is backwards compatible polar sometimes doesn't work ok with B4.
So what happened/can happen: if not correctly disconnected wearlink can still be turned on until the battery is drained. To get wearlink unstuck it has to be reset by the service. Until it is reset it can't be found by any other Bluetooth device and once it is reset it again works perfectly. The reset is done by taking the battery out and shortcut the + and - pins inside.
With H7 (B4) there is no issue and the battery anyhow lasts longer.
What I currently do is always disconnect (turn off) the Bluetooth on the phone prior to taking the wearlink of the strap. In the last two months I had no issues.
Cheers, Matjaz

Do you have any reason to choose Polar?
I guess in HR belts most of the times the problems are in the band/connectors than in the sensors.
For 1/3rd of the price of the Polar you have Bluetooth HR Belts from Decathlon (I guess their brands are btwin or geonaute) and from Lidl (Brand is Medisana), you have a review here in spanish.
With Android and Bluetooth in terms of sports I guess it is something like trial and error. For example Suunto is trying to do an app to connect to their bluetooth Ambit 3 watch and they are having an hard time, with some brands of phones working others not...
There is garmin, That uses ANT+ protocol to comunication btw watch and HR monitor strap.
It happens that sony and samsung flagships, (z3 included) are capable to receive Ant+ signals.
So you could buy an garmin watch, or just its HR monitor.
Be aware that not all apps are ant+ compatible, endomondo is, but, for instance, runtastic is not
anyone knows if Garmin ant+ HR strap will work with Z3C?
I have had two garmin straps that worked great
Now I use a fitbit charge HR, (not as excact, but good enough for me) so I don't use them anymore.

Working BT Heart Rate Monitor?

I have a BT Garmin HRM (chest strap) that worked fine on my older LG V20, however, both my Pixel XL and now my Pixel 2 XL don't seem to be able to connect to it even though it seems to pair fine via BT. I'm using the same software - Endomondo Pro - on both my LG phone and the Pixel devices but the latter two just don't pick the HRM strap up.
I haven't yet found a fix, if there is one, but is anyone using a HRM chest strap with any success? If so, what kind is it?
Thanks!
one bump, one more try...
