Try TWRP 2.8.6.0 listed in that thread and use htc_fastboot to flash
Any question, ask in that thread

I've in my possession a VW Droid incredible 2. Beautiful phone, not mine, doesn't boot.
The boot sticks at the HTC screen. The version I assume is either 2.3.3 or 2.3.4.
I figured the best thing to do would be to flash the latest RUU which I tried. The problem is when I flash it will update the TP (1) the bootloader(3) and then do recovery (2) and stick on recovery with out an update progress bar on the tip right corner.
The phone is not S-OFF, it is not rooted, the bootloader is locked. And it is not mine. It being belongs to my friends Sylvia who hasn't touched it in months. She also doesn't mind losing Verizon ties because she will have it unlocked anyway
I'm sorry I posted but I've done ask the research I could and I've gotten nothing out of it. I'm not an incredible 2 owner my weapon of choice is an HTC Amaze.
Thanks for the help

Try a factory data reset from the bootloader then try booting
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
What exactly is suppose to happen when I use factory reset. I try it and the bootloader freezes. I tried it and then tried booting. Still hangs on HTC.
I read there are some ICS RUUs.

Are you HTCDev unlocked?
No, phones a virgin. Locked bootloader, S-ON. I tried unlocking the bootloader HTC dev style but when it comes time to pull the code from the phone and send it to HTC for them to email me a token I get an error in my terminal.

try to s off. you can look around for the latest ota pg32img and flesh that in the boot loader
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
I've tried PG32IMG.zip for 2.3.4 and the update sticks.
Hadn't your device gotten an RUU with ICS yet.
Also don't I need to be able to boot it up in order to use rEVOlution tool. Thanks a lot guys

What is the radio version & hboot version in bootloader. That will till us a lot. That is if your still around. Depending on the version of each we can figure out what to do.
Hboot is 97
Radio is 1.09.01.0622

If you want to s-off, you will want to flash the 2.3.3 ruu. I would try flashing 2.3.3 again, just make sure you check md5. Here is a link to signed RUU's
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/18873-ruu-htc-incredible-2-signed-ruus-pg32imgzip/
Just make sure its renamed to just PG32IMG.zip and place it on sdcard. If they don't want to s-off you can flash 2.3.4 too.
It won't flash any RUU s unless. Is there a way to modify an RUU not to flash the recovery...

Oh and you can't flash the 2.3 ruu if your phone is already in 2.4 and is factory s on locked, you can't flash an ruu older than what you currently have not an older hboot you need the latest ota signed one try it and it will work...

I know. I think I have 2.3 but when I flash a 2.3 ruu. The error I get is "main version is older" and that is a 2.3.4 RUU I got from the rootz wiki a page back. I'll look fora different RUU source later on.

I was using CM10 for my One X, tried to return to stock, then realised that i had the wrong ruu, therefore i am stuck in fastboot with no rom.
if someone can tell me what ruu i need / other methods of fixing this i would be grateful.
You can use the right ruu, look after your Cid and go for the right one in the specific thread.
You can also unlock your bootloader (nice all in one tool is in the Android development t
Forum) and flash recovery, than the Rom. Don't worry, you cannot brick your phone without s-off. Just read some FAQs and you'll recover your phone

That is a brilliant tool to use, will flash the hboot you need, then the recovery then the boot.img!
Just need to flash the rom you choose via the newly installed recovery then problem solved!

When I flash my phone back to 4.4.2 it says this C:\adb>fastboot flash zip update.zip
target reported max download size of 1830612992 bytes

OKAY [ 54.302s]

and then thats it. I want to take it back to stock, but it wont let me.
You need to re-lock your bootloader before you run the RUU. And make sure to run the RUU as administrator.
