I've in my possession a VW Droid incredible 2. Beautiful phone, not mine, doesn't boot.
The boot sticks at the HTC screen. The version I assume is either 2.3.3 or 2.3.4.
I figured the best thing to do would be to flash the latest RUU which I tried. The problem is when I flash it will update the TP (1) the bootloader(3) and then do recovery (2) and stick on recovery with out an update progress bar on the tip right corner.
The phone is not S-OFF, it is not rooted, the bootloader is locked. And it is not mine. It being belongs to my friends Sylvia who hasn't touched it in months. She also doesn't mind losing Verizon ties because she will have it unlocked anyway
I'm sorry I posted but I've done ask the research I could and I've gotten nothing out of it. I'm not an incredible 2 owner my weapon of choice is an HTC Amaze.
Thanks for the help

What exactly is suppose to happen when I use factory reset. I try it and the bootloader freezes. I tried it and then tried booting. Still hangs on HTC.
I read there are some ICS RUUs.

No, phones a virgin. Locked bootloader, S-ON. I tried unlocking the bootloader HTC dev style but when it comes time to pull the code from the phone and send it to HTC for them to email me a token I get an error in my terminal.

If you want to s-off, you will want to flash the 2.3.3 ruu. I would try flashing 2.3.3 again, just make sure you check md5. Here is a link to signed RUU's
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/18873-ruu-htc-incredible-2-signed-ruus-pg32imgzip/
Just make sure its renamed to just PG32IMG.zip and place it on sdcard. If they don't want to s-off you can flash 2.3.4 too.
It won't flash any RUU s unless. Is there a way to modify an RUU not to flash the recovery...

btw i use jkkyyu enhanced firmware rooted and cwm installed.
You shouldn't need root to flash a kernel. Use the latest flashtool.

This must be the millionth thread about failing in unlocking the Wildfire S, but I'm really stock at this point, therefor I need your help
I have seen a lot of tutorials about how-to
But they all start with, go to www.htcdev.com, so I did.
I tried to install the HTC EUR RUU, but it failed
[Not supported rom]
So, I tried it with the PG76IMG package, but it said
[Main version is older]
And when I try to get the id token from fastboot it says:
[FAILED (status malformed (1 bytes))
finished. total time: 0.003s]
So, now I'm kinda stuck, how can I unlock this **..
My phone spec:
Android 2.3.5 (GSM)

HBOOT 1.09.0099

1.09.0099 is unlockable, no need to flash ruu. You only have to flash ruu if you have an old unlockable bootloader.
Check the fastboot command carefully, is it identification or identifier you need to type.

I've successfully rooted my phone. I tried to install Slimbean Primo U, but I got stuck at the welcome screen with the red text. So I did a full wipe (cache/format), then tried again, but to no luck. So I tried flashing the hellboy kernel, did another full wipe following the steps of this guidline, and it seemed to work, but now I'm stuck on a black boot screen that says "Android" - there's a shining animation across it. I've been here for about 20 minutes already.
Did you use the latest kernel-
boot-HELLBOY-201212251747.img?
What command did you use for flashing it?
The correct command is
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Also, did you mistakenly flash it in Hboot, instead of fastboot?

Yes, I did use all those proper commands.
How would I go about mistakenly flashing it in Hboot?
When I started the bootloader, I went into fastboot option and did it from there. Was that the right process?

I don't recall that it said that. Do you want me to check? Should I boot into bootloader? I still have that "Android" animation going.
Yes,go into bootloader by holding power for 10+seconds until screen goes black, then release power and hold volume down.then bootloader pops up.from there go to fastboot, connect phone to PC and see whether it says fastboot usb.
if yes, then again flash the kernel and see whether the command prompt says something like this at the end

Thanks a lot for your help tonight; thought I was going to lose more sleep than I did.
Yes,that's the sense kernel.I am sensing that your Hboot is upgraded, that's why you will have to downgrade it before flashing any JB ROM.but, try once more and flash CM10 or Paranoid Android and see whether it boots.
But,atleast,we have sorted out that you have no driver problems, you are able to flash kernels and ROMs with full wipes.
And,if you will try to flash a JB ROM,also format everything in the mounts and storage menu in the recovery.sd-ext format will give error, don't worry.but, don't format sdcard.

You need to re-lock your bootloader before you run the RUU. And make sure to run the RUU as administrator.
